Locked in to finish a Masters degree so this is the first time listening in about 4 months expecting a positive logarithmic curve of improvement only to be accosted with an ube shaped mic, the effervescence of Brownlee and Donahue (which is a positive, not as steep) , and the anti-ASMR projection of noises/sentences of James. 10/10 glad to be locked in to the pod again!
Remember how Funkmaster Flex premiered Otis and dropped a million bomb sound effects and restarted the three minute track for twenty fucking minutes That’s this show, a nine minute premise interrupted and retried for 60 minutes, and I love it so much

Genuine advice for growing the audience (and I love this show) : Consistency, in the sense of a clear format that doesnt always change. Maybe always introducing the guests and the pod with a tagline, so new listeners can be caught up. The show's chaos is part of its charm, but little things like that might help without taking away from its heart. Been here since ep 1. People never stop ❤️
Episode idea: A Walking Ep. We follow Geoff with a camera as he walks around the office harassing people trying to work, asking them their Bond Of The Week and if they think a photo is Sour Cream or Nah. Maybe he goes outside and asks people if their other car is a massage.
I will say... I think you all are underestimating the relisting level of the RUclips versions of The Headgum Podcast. Geoff has fostered an uplifting listening nirvana that can lift you up on the lowest of days.
Straight up, I really think a lot of the cogs in the machine that is the production of this show would work way better if Geoff would just reply to texts...like, ever

If I remember correctly, it felt like Geoff was put off at her non participation of his segments. Even when they're ridiculous, the bits only work if everyone is on board.
