  • From unboxing to flying ...
    The assembly and first flight review of this 50mm EDF (electric ducted fan). This model from Arrows RC Hobby is for 3 channel (Elevator, Aileron, Throttle) and 3s 1300maH - 1800mAh 3s LiPo power. It is also capable of 4s power for truly ballistic flying ! It is easy to build and great value for money - this one was £130 from my local model shop - Steve Webb Models www.servoshop.co.uk/

    Good review of this little T-33.
    AirHammer out!!

  • @etops.flight

    Love the paint scheme of this T33, that contrasting yellow band on the fuselage makes orientation easier. Only bug bear are the aileron horns are on the bottom surface of the wing, its a belly lander - put them on the top. They will eventually get damaged if your flying field is not pristine. 4s all the way!
    I would launch it by holding fuselage behind wings and throwing it up and forwards.
    My first 50mm EDF was an A6 Intruder. I would love to see Arrows make this jet available too!

    • @ScaleMeDown
      @ScaleMeDown  2 года назад +2

      An underarm launch might work too - I tend to catch the tail on the back of my pants doing this though. The finger grips work OK, but a grip behind the wings is much more comfortable.

    • @etops.flight
      @etops.flight 2 года назад +1

      @@ScaleMeDown another thing I noted are the horns and clevis’ look a bit weak. Sky Angels were notoriously thin and brittle. Banana Hobby Viper Jet had much beefier and robust ones. Hope they can follow-up on that, perhaps plastic hinges too but you could easily mod those before the maiden.

    • @ScaleMeDown
      @ScaleMeDown  2 года назад +1

      @@etops.flight They seem fine to me - considering the tiny lightweight nature of these models No complaints yet with the foam hinges either. If they crack in the future I might mod them, but happy so far

    It’s a fun little edf. I bought both 50mm’s from Arrows. I was stunned that the T-33 is the better of the two. Not that there’s anything wrong with the Bae Hawk, it’s that the T-33 handles better.

    ya know I have always wanted a small size, but not quite UMX EDF that fly's nice and slow with a nice easy roll rate, that would be perfect for learning to fly EDF's, because honestly the E-flite F-15 is a handful. I can't believe the perfect jet finally came out and once I finish learning my F4U this will be my next buy!
    P.S.: Great review!

    I wonder why Arrows made the wing flat or even slightly anhedral? The fulls size had a bit of dihedral for stability. Seems stable enough though.

    • @ScaleMeDown
      @ScaleMeDown  29 дней назад +2

      @@kingsolo303 Hi, I don't use FlySky myself, so can't be completely sure, however the kit comes with a 'y' lead for the ailerons. Ensure that the plugs and sockets are all the correct way round (wires connected white to white, red to red, black to black) on all 3 ends of the y lead. Check which way round the plugs are inserted into the receiver. If you are using separate channels for each surface the problem will be with the model setup in the transmitter
