  • Weird Symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome | Atypical Clinical Features of IBS
    Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional gastrointestinal disorder involving chronic and recurrent abdominal pain and changes in bowel habit. Some of the hallmark clinical features of IBS include abdominal pain that co-occurs with changes in bowel habit, which includes diarrhea, constipation or an alternating of the two. In this lesson, we discuss the more rare and atypical (strange or weird) that occur in IBS that many individuals don’t think about, including psychological issues and sexual dysfunction.

    For me, its embarrassing to talk about since I'm a woman but looking back now I believe I've had IBS for about 10 years now( I'm 29). I've never been diagnosed & I never really put 2 & 2 together however my symptoms have been getting worse since I had my child 4 years ago. I struggle with stomach cramps, a combo of constipation & diarrhea, gas & bloating. I also get itchy skin, hair loss, & acne. I always contributed those to my PCOS(Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). Knowing now hormones & IBS typically go hand in hand, its probably a combo of both. I also suffer from insomnia & frequent urination but that's been my whole life.

    An unstable sacrum/pelvis, with pressure on cauda equina nerves and the attachment of the filum in the sacrum, can cause all kinds of bowel issues. As well, a displaced C1 can ( with consequent pressures on on cranial nerves from altered spinal fluid drainage ) can also cause huge issues. Gentle Traditional osteopaths and craniosacral work may help? Twisting and snapping the neck and pelvis can be dangerous. ( brought to you by a person who had terrible GI issues - and much more- after a pelvis and neck injury)

    • @Jaikay1
      @Jaikay1 Год назад +3

      Is this from experience? Because you're spot on. Unstable pelvis is likely due to leaning away from the site of pain chronically and also bracing for pain cause muscle imbalance over time.

    • @nanallen1
      @nanallen1 Год назад +2

      @@Jaikay1 The sacrum is held in place by ligaments. So a fall on the tail bone or excessive side/ side movements ( like lots of tennis ? ) - high kicks, repetitive kicking ( like soccer? ), even hitting brakes hard - can all destabilize the sacrum/ pelvis. There may be congenital conditions that contribute to problems : off- midline fusion of the filum to the dura inside the sacrum. ( not rare - neurosurgeons from Univ. of Alabama found this in 3 out of 27 normal cadavers). Also hypermobility - like Ehlers Danlos, tight spinal cord attachment. Yes, my experience.

    To me ibs sounds more like a collection of symptoms. These ibs-like symptoms can be associated with other underlying causes. Some doctors are more responsible and prone to diagnose people. That’s why some patients eventually find out the true cause of their symptoms. However, there are more doctors who are happy to DIAGNOSE patients with ibs based on patients’ symptoms and/or endoscopy results, ignoring small bowel and hepatic organs, which is a huge concern to me.

    Hi JJ Medicine. The doctors think i have IBS, but for some reason i can eat many of the so called avoidable foods (onions and beans as example) however i get excruciating bowel pain and increased need to defecate if i eat any products that are wheat based (things such as dextrose, citric acid, glucose-fructose syrup, mannitol, modified wheat starch, unspecified modified starch etc.. So I´m here thinking that i have some sort of a wheat hypersensitivity, but the doctors around here (north europe) don´t seem to think that that is a real thing. I also have some of the symptoms listed on this video, that i did not know belonged to IBS. What do you think? Is wheat hypersensitivity a thing or do i just have a weird IBS? Or are these two things actually the same thing? Are there any studies on IBS patients and wheat based ingredients? I like i don´t think many people know that for example citric acid is made out of wheat. Could it just be that the doctors are not aware of this, or refuse to accept the fact that maybe not all of the wheat gets processed to the atomic form of citric acid and some actual wheat remains? Any thoughts? Other people with similar issues can also respond.

    I started eating avocados on toast for breakfast.
    After 3 weeks I started to get bloating, and increased gas and defecation.
    I thought that I had developed IBS.
    Long story short, I took panacur (fenbendazole).
    I took 5ml of panacur 25 for 20 days.
    After 12 days all the ‘IBS’ symptoms had gone.
    We don’t cook avocado do we.
    Any insect that lays eggs in the avocado then uses humans as the ‘vector’ for the eggs survival.
    This, I think, is the cause of symptoms of IBS in some humans.
    I posted this reply in the comments section of another IBS video.
    I believe that some IBS type practitioners might know that IBS symptoms may be attributed to intestinal parasites, but that information is not forthcoming to any who are suffering this condition.

      I think this is a bit far fetched, I doubt many insects eggs will survive the human bowel, except tape worms and such.

      When I said ‘long story short’ I meant it.
      I tried all the ‘remedies’ that I could find on U tube IBS videos.
      It was a slow dawning for me to realise that parasites are in food that comes from a tree.
      And it was a very big step for me to ingest an animal wormer.
      But I realised that humans are also animals (as far as fenbendazole is concerned).
      12 days to achieve a fix, after 10 weeks of, shall I say, discomfort.
      I drive for a living.
      It was very discomforting to have to sit on a toilet 4 to 5 times in an 8 hour shift.
      Fenben fixed me up.
      And I bet that there are many ‘IBS’ sufferers out there that would benefit from trying this remedy.
      Kind regards, Ian Jones.
      Ipswich, Queensland, Australia.

      I had a two month long episode from eating avocado that was not fresh. Could be some type of parasite or food poisoning germ. There are one cell organism parasites such as giardia that are sensitive to Fenbendazole. I suggest no one eats avocado that is starting to spoil turn grey or dark spots. My grandmother had the similar experience from eating avocado with brown spots inside so make sure they're fresh before you eat them.

      @@ianjones7740 Could just as well be the insectiside used in your avocadoes. or any other food you ate. I mean ofc could also be the avocadoes, but maybe probably not the "parasites" if there are even any.

    *Vomiting* is NOT a symptom of IBS. If you have recurrent vomiting please get checked for gastroparesis Intestinal pseudo-obstruction may also be worth getting evaluated for.
