  • Some footage of my recent trip down to Cambria via HWY 1 in Rosetta. By chance followed an MGB for 30 minutes or so! Also, had a chance to use my home made camera slider for some opening shots. Epic day - hope you enjoy!

I had a '62 TR3 (British Racing Green) back in '75 and drove it home from British Columbia to Nova Scotia that winter. I took 3 weeks to go across. Arrived in Halifax on Christmas eve. The coldest spot along the way was -55C in White River, Ontario. That sweet car worked like a charm as it purred it's way across the country. My brother back home had a silver '59 MGA and we had such a blast with those two cars zipping around the Maritimes. Gotta love those classic British sports cars!

I bought a brand new MGB back in 72 but I wish now I'd have bought a Triumph TR3 ! They sound better . A little bit of Heaven..........you and your young son , who by the way will remember this moment for the rest of his life and your beautiful little dog cruising the coast together !

I purchased my 57 TR3 when my son was 6 years old. The best part of my rides have always been with him. The car becomes a family member at that point. Awesome scenes!

Reminds me of the 1958 TR3A I owned for years. Friend in his '54 Healy Le mans and I would travel along a coast road similar. Great memories. One negative....never ever took a picture of it!

I owned an Austin Healy as a young guy and I recently decided to get another roadster. I thought about an old english car, like your TR3A, but I ended up buying a Honda S2000. I do love my S2k. But, watching this video has me thinking about whether I should follow my original instinct. Gorgeous car you have. Love it.

Interesting! I have similar history and about 8 years ago purchased an S2000. Phenomenal automobile BUT, not an old British car. Sold the S2000 last year and bought a TR3 in good condition. No regrets.

Thanks for sharing !! It reminds me of my TR3A I owned in 1993 imported from the US - Virginia which took me to Monte Carlo and the south of France for weeks. My oldest son (now almost 21) also joined me for some very good mountain motoring...

Finally seeing the rear seat put to use ! Seems the dog was getting too much wind in the eyes though. Hope he came back in the follow up car . =)

Best car for this road! I simply cannot explain how perfect the TR3 is for open air senic driving. It is the most "motorcycle like" experience you can have in a competent road going machine. YEP, I am getting older but there is still one more TR3 in my future - ANY TR3B models out there? I am your premium buyer for the right one. Cheers

I basically have an identical car, color and everything, except it's a 1958 and I don't have the luggage rack. Doing Hwy 1 in it is on my list (but I'm up in the Sierra Nevada's so it's a bit of a hike to get there). I've done the drive in a brand new 370Z convertible and that was also fun!

No seatbelts... I believe that cars that never had them are NOT required to have them, however... is it wise to continue without? Still, it's good to see that a TR3 can hold its own on a (spectacularly beautiful) highway.

These actually do have lap-style seatbelts installed from the factory. Not sure they would help in most circumstances though, best to avoid any collision for sure!

Don,t see him using them !!

Hi Peter, thanks for the comment. Some TR's have overdrive equipped transmissions and other don't...sadly mine does not have that option.

arch1e1963 Thanks for the comment! Our dog Maggie is supper chill (and old) so we don't worry about her jumping out - she seems to enjoy the breeze and we take her out when we can - no leash necessary.

I am with Oldman, I prefer the older mount. This one looks like you are just superimposing the nose of your car in the frame. Spitfire owner, down with a bad brake master cylinder, but it's on order!

Like your opening work, well done. I do like the hood stick mount of your earlier video better, just my preference, like that angle more. Here is my version: ruclips.net/video/wfUFiaEV7lM/видео.html. My car is not in as good condition, but, I do drive it hard!
