    You wanna know how I lived since Arcane came out?! I need to regularily watch people react to this show, because it's the closest thing to experiencing it again for the first time again I'll ever get. The making-of series on YT helped too. It's what some of us are now cursed to do - to wander RUclips looking to vicariously re-live that first time again. I've even bumped into another reactor doing the same.
      The other thing to do, is to watch Arcane fully at least one more time - you will notice things you previously missed, and it hits somewhat differently.

    Techncially its not a cliffhanger ending. The core story - that of Vi and Powder - is complete (as far as the season goes) when she pulls the trigger and fires. Thats the completion of Powder's arc in becoming Jinx and the completion of Vi's arc of failure to save her sister.

    The moment right at the end when Jinx is having a psychotic episode, those crayon-scribble monsters surrounding her and overwhelming her, does a beautiful job of illustrating the tragedy of her impossible choice between her sister and her father. Vi's love for Jinx is as pure and selfless as ever, but she doesn't understand the person her sister has become. She's the one creating those monsters by stirring up memories which for Jinx are nothing but torture. Silco understands Jinx perfectly--you can hear him yell "Shut up! Don't listen to her!" while Vi is accidentally pushing Jinx over the edge because he knows exactly what's happening--but the love he has for her (while real) is manipulative and toxic. For Powder, there was no right choice, and it destroyed her. My only hope for anything resembling a happy ending for the two sisters is if they can somehow find a way to meet in the middle, but at the moment that seems impossible.
    Thank you so much for sharing these reactions with us! I had a great time watching. Genuinely this is one of the greatest pieces of media ever made.

      That's the utterly beautiful and horrific tragedy that is Jinx. Both Vi and Silco love Jinx with every fiber of their beings. However, they are both bad choices for taking care of Jinx. As you already stated, Silco understands Jinx. He often shows patients and encouragement. However, he's also overindulgent towards her destructive (both internally and externally) behavior. Not to mention his projected trama has caused Jinx to become paranoid, distrustful and socially isolated.
      Vi on the other hand is a completely different mess. Her biggest problem is that her guilt has caused her to want to press the hard reset button on her and her sisters relationship. Basically she loves Powder so much that she is currently incapable of loving Jinx as she is now. Bless her heart she would try her best, but Vi as she is in Arcane is woefully ill equipped to take care of her volatile, mentally ill sister.

      @@concettasorvillo3719 I was just thinking the reason he specifically asked for Jinx was because Vi said her name at the meeting. If she hadn't then Silco likely could have passed the blame onto someone else, and wouldn't you know there just happened to be a woman who had tried to overthrow him that he could have made take the blame.
      I was also thinking, just like how a lot of other things mirrored the first few episodes in the ending. In a way Vi's rash decision ended up getting people killed in a similar war to how Powder's rash decision did.

    Some of my thoughts and analysis:
    After Jinx shoots Silco, she's shown clearly in that triggered mindless instinctual state like in episode 4 on the ship. Then after a couple breaths you see the exact moment her brain kicks in to full awareness again and... instant regret. Jinx didn't chose to kill Silco, but in a triggered state she instinctually shot at the threat of the sound of the pin drop in Silco's gun. That's entirely the reason she then chooses the Jinx chair, yet again, she was a Jinx to her family.
    There is no Powder, Jinx situation there, nor is it a conscious decision. It's just tragedy. Once again, Powder unwittingly killed her family. But this time she killed someone who loved her perfectly. This is probably Jinx's breaking point.
    This comment, which many people misunderstood and shared as a comment under each video since this series came out: "Powder killed Silco, so Jinx killed Powder" is actually a wrong analysis. Jinx is Powder's evolution that grows over time. Powder and Jinx are not different people or split personalities, they are the same person.
    Silco's line:
    "don't cry you're perfect" = not Jinx, not Powder, you're perfect.
    I Like the post I saw in someone's comment earlier:
    Here is that comment:
    Jinx breaks my heart, more than usual, in her final scenes. There's such a sense of resignation and sadness to her; it's in her eyes, her expression, and her body language. I imagine that she's thinking that Mylo was right, all those years ago:
    She's a jinx.
    And if she's a jinx, she's going to be the worst bad luck Piltover has ever experienced.
    No truce. No negotiations. No peace.
    Jinx will show them all. Let it all burn, and chaos reign.
    War is coming...

    This show has so many amazing lines throughout, but no matter how many times I hear Silco's "Don't cry. You're perfect.", it rips me up every single time. I need to double check, but I think it's the first time in the show he isn't addressing her as Jinx. He is always telling her that Jinx is perfect, but at the end it's not about Jinx vs Powder, it's about his daughter and how she is perfect. Silco is one of my absolute favorite villains. He has goals that we can sympathize with, but chooses a villainous path to achieve them. But he is also a father and we do find at the end that he truly cares for his daughter (a question I know I had until this final episode). Arcane is absolutely amazing and watching again with your reactions was fantastic.

      Yeah I’d like to add that during the baptism scene, silco says ‘jinx is perfect’ contrasted with just ‘you’re perfect’ when he’s dying. • @DoremiFasolatido1979
    @DoremiFasolatido1979 Год назад +97

    Vi's admonition for Jinx to "remember" everyone...was a bad thing, not a good thing. Those memories HURT her. All she remembers is failure and insults. Even though there were good memories...she doesn't have any of them, they've all been corrupted. Memory isn't a pure thing. It's messy and inconsistent and broken...always. Twisting someone's memory into something else is actually a pretty trivially easy manipulation. Almost nobody recalls anything accurately, ever.
    Imagine if a loved one had always been good to you and treated you the best, but for whatever variety of reasons, like some underlying mental illness, a predilection for fixating on negatives, whatever...you ended up remembering them as always hating you, or having abused you. And then someone demanded that you remember only the good things. What would that do to you? Do you really think you'd miraculously have good memories you never made in the first place? Some magical light would open your eyes and you'd just..."get it"? Nope. You'd only remember the awful things your mind concocted for whatever reasons, and the experience would completely destroy you.
    Just like it did to Jinx.
    Silco didn't want to lose Jinx to Vi...no. But, had things gone differently, if Jinx could've told him that she'd always be his daughter, but she still needs to be Vi's sister (and if Vi could find a way to accept that somehow), Silco absolutely would've let her go, for her to be happy. He was prepared to shoot Vi not because she was going to take Jinx away, but because she was hurting Jinx, and no parent who loves their children (even if they're not an especially good parent) can live with that.

    This show is nothing less than a complete masterpiece. It's been an absolute pleasure watching you two discover and enjoy it for the first time. I normally don't comment much on videos in general because of my social awkwardness/anxiety, but you guys are legitimately some of the best reactors I've seen tackle this show and I've seen a lot. I love how attentive you are, you catch nuances and the many layers this show has, you don't dismiss any of the characters or their motivations and not to mention great commentary. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing your channel thrive.
    Not sure if anyone commented this yet, but in the final scenes of episode 9, where Vi is trying to call back Powder, she's inadvertently recreating the game where they pretended to be big scary monsters when they were children. Back in episode 8, Vi mentioned she would sometimes get way too into her role and scare Powder, so she would pretend to chase her own monsters away to make her feel better.
    Jinx tells Vi to make Caitlyn "go away", because in Jinx's mind, Caitlyn is a monster that she needs to be protected from and wants to get rid of and she wants Vi, her big sister to do it for her, to protect her from the monsters; just like she had promised she always would.
    Here, Vi is getting carried away and doesn't realize that she's hurting and scaring Powder by reminding her of their family. For Vi, even though their family is linked to trauma, they are a source of love and motivation for her to keep going, to keep fighting despite the hardship. But for Jinx, they are nothing but demons who constantly haunt her at this point. She no longer has happy memories of them.
    The whole dinner/tea party scene imo, was one big test to see if Vi would accept Jinx as she is now and let Powder (the past) go. To love her unconditionally, despite how much she's changed. But of course, Vi seeing just how violent and unhinged her sister has become is taking a toll on her emotionally and she hasn't really had much time to process any of it.
    "I thought maybe you could love me (Jinx) like you used to (Powder)".

      At that time, Silco knows Jinx better than Violet.

      @nr6916 Год назад +6

      That’s a really good analysis. Especially when you think about how all the monsters got stronger when Vi said me. In VI’s mind, their family was a source of strength for her, something to fight for. For Jinx, it’s a reminder of her guilt and insecurities. Jinx was created so that Powder could distance herself from it all, having to change herself to survive her demons. To be stronger. But we see that her ways of coping are violent and chaotic. Vi can’t accept that her sister became a product of what she saw around her growing up.

  • @briane75

    Jayce designed those gauntlets for mining, so when a large, heavy object was coming down from above, it likely triggered a cave in defense feature, you can tell Vi was just as surprised by the shield as Sevika was. So in a way, Jayce was right, Vi couldn't make it on her own, she needed help from Caitlyn and (indirectly) Jayce to survive Sevika each time they met. Sevika is.. probably my second favorite character behind Vi, and it's not a big gap. She's like a dark reflection of Vi... Tough, Smart (the way she pushed Jinx and Vi's buttons), and loyal to the idea of freedom for Undercity over any one person (which is why she betrayed Vander but not Silco). If Silco had survived and refused independence to save Jinx, Sevika would have almost certainly turned against him. Just another example of the greatness of this show is that these relatively minor characters are gaining their own fans and they communicated so much of who they are with such limited screen time.

      @briane75 Год назад +8

      @@CraftedLP I've seen that comment. It's fanciful, but patently false. Vi blocks loads of attacks throughout the series, including several knife thrusts that would have cut young Vi's story short, let alone the blade wielding shimmer zombies in Episode 8. Even in the fight where she was captured, the firelights couldn't lay a fist on her until she got hit from behind while trying to stop Jinx from killing someone.
      "You block with your face" isn't usually literal, it's a metaphor for an overly aggressive style that sacrifices defense. The series clearly shows Vi as very adept at blocking and slipping attacks, but also shows her aggression with those big leaping right hands that often get her punished.

I've seen a couple reactors in the past who, upon seeing the shield, were like, "AND THESE ARE FOR MINING?!?!" These are supposed to be gloves to allow the user to mine underground without significant risk of death or potential injury. Part of that is the ability to block falling debris, rockslides, and other seismic activity that would otherwise cause a cave-in.

    possible spoilers ahead if you scrolled down without watching episode 9 yet :
    The show does such a great job at putting the characters into decisions where it's impossible to know what 'the right thing' is and how to proceed. Even little bits like taking the time to humanize Sevika beyond "tough bad guy" with telling Silco how to deal with a daughter. Every character has behavior that seems reasonable for who they are and what they know at the time.
    Silco is one of my favorite villains in any show I've seen. Even without the touching arc he went through, he was amazing. The scene at Vander's statue really was the moment that helped me solidify my belief that this show knew how to write nuance. I cried so hard at his death. @@OfficialMediaKnights That's honestly most people with Silco. Episode 1 you're creeped out, Episode 3 you hate him, peoples opinions shift but most are still apprehensive up until Episode 8 when his genuine love for Jinx shines through on the bridge and the doctor's office. After that, I haven't seen a single bad word about Silco as a character. Most people cry at his death, which is pretty rare for a villain.
      It's funny, back when the first trailers for Arcane came out, I was actually concerned about Silco. He only got small bits of dialogue, and most of them were his more stereotypical villain stuff about stopping at nothing to achieve his goals. So I felt he was going to be a bit flat based on my first impression - "it's League of Legends, it's a video game adaptation, even if the art is cool the story will probably be pretty mid, he's gonna be a typical scheming archetype". I could not have been more wrong.
      Silco ranks up among my favorite villains of all time - animated or not. I'm hoping for some more Silco through flashbacks next season, be it through Jinx or Warwick's eyes.

    Something I thought to metnion while watching:
    Jinx and Power are the same person. Jinx has (from what I can tell) PTSD from the 3ed episode and she only started calling herself Jinx because of her last argument with Vi in that episode. Its not entiearly defined but she could have taken the name as either out of spite or because its the last memory she has of her sister. In either case, Power as a person is technically the same person as Jinx, the only difference is that she didn't have Vi there to guide her. So while she feels she has "changed" she is right in the sense that she no longer has the moral compas taught to her by Vi & Vander. All their lessons basically got forgotten under Silco, who raised her how he thought would be best, seeing her situation as being one he was in. What Silco probably knew that Vi was not catching on to either too is that Jinx's memories of Vander, Clager & Milo are not positive. And arguably, neither is her last memory of Vi. They are the "monsters" she battles with and when Vi was edging her on with the intent to getting Jinx to remember who she was... well that was the problem. She isn't Power anymore. She has changed and Vi is holding onto a version of her that no longer exists. She has grown and changed and Vi hasen't been digesting that through the end of this series. Jinx just wanted Vi to lover her regardless of what she had become. Vi wanted the sister she had, not what her sister had become.
    It is by far one of the best scenes ever written into this show but that finel bit shows it all. Its hard to describe. But the point is, Jinx has always been Jinx. Power is Jinx. The only difference that changed her was how she was raised after Silco took her in. I can only guess as to why she took to calling herself Jinx, but if she feels she is that far different from her past self, then that might explain it. But the important part is that aside from a change in morality, she is technically the same person. Even at her younger age, Power/Jinx was tinkering with making weapons. She stuck to that and got better at it. I think if she didn't have Siclo as an influence, she easily could have made a career as an inventor.

      Ekko told her when they reunited “And you still block with your face!” VI’s approach to fighting (and a lot of things in general) has been to brute force it, all offense, no defense. That’s why in the Vander vision, the first thing he mentions is “Your guard needs work.” He was pointing out she needed to block, defend more, not just straight attack, if she wanted to win. It had a double meaning as well, because she always approached her problems in the same way, powering through, when she needed to approach them in a different way if she wanted her sister back.

    In the end, I don't feel that there are any 'true' villains in this show. There are a lot of human characters; some do a few bad things, others do a lot of bad things, but none of them are stereotypical, cliché Bad Guys. I understand how and why the characters make the choices that they do, even if I can't condone or approve of them.
    "In the pursuit of great, we failed to do good." One of my favorite quotes from the series.
    I think Jayce is being overly optimistic and naïve in his thinking that topside would massacre the under city, should it come to war. He took part in a single fight against factory guards, child workers, and drugged up berserkers, with Vi backing him up with hextech powered gauntlets and himself wielding a hextech powered hammer that also had a shield and blaster mode. To extrapolate from that fight the course of an entire war? I really doubt it would be that easy.
    "Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?" I'm reminded of another quote: The one thing you can't give up for your heart's desire is your heart.
    The tea party scene: right away, you know it's not going to end well. Vi and Silco both love Jinx, I have no doubt about that, but Silco is projecting his own issues and trauma onto Jinx, while Vi inadvertently but repeatedly triggers her sister with reminders of their past. And Caitlyn wants to arrest Jinx for all her crimes.
    And at the center of it all is Jinx: traumatized, mentally unwell, Shimmer running through her system, trying desperately to figure who to trust and what she should do, knowing that she can't even trust her own mind.
    Naturally, it all goes to hell. Vi meant well, trying to remind her sister of their family, but she didn't realize that to Jinx, those names, those faces, aren't comforting. They manifest as demons in her mind, driving her towards one of her worst mental breakdowns yet. Silco manages to grab a gun, points it at Vi, and...
    Jinx reacts. Again, she kills someone she loves without being fully aware of her actions. Tragedy, yet again. And Jinx is pushed to, and most likely past, her breaking point.
    One more attack. One more explosion. And...that's how we're left, until next season. Who lived? Who died? What next?
    Hopefully, we'll find out soon.
    Thanks for your reactions.

    Sevika wasn't tempted, she was sending a message. The funny thing is that Finn wasn't even a player in his own takeover (It's not like she didn't warn him several times that he was a moron). Sevika just used Finn to send a message to Silco "Get your shit together or next time I might kill you". Sevika is loyal to the cause, not Silco nor Vander. I love this scene because it really cement Sevika as a great character in her own right. She goes from super minor musclehead in act 1 that serves to show the dissent against Vander (although we get hints of her devotion to the cause when she sacrifices herself and end up losing her arm to save Silco from the bomb) to major character but without too much agency in act 2 (beside trying to figure out a way out of the "Jinx" problem) to really being a major player in act 3.

    What to do until Season 2 comes.... that's the question. Well, the rewatchability of this show is through the roof. I have watched it several times and watched at least 50 full reactions. It's so densely packed with information that nobody picks up on the first few watches. Even now, I still find things I never noticed before. For example, I found one today... When Jinx pushes Kaitlyns chair up to the table we see that Jinx has put a gag/muzzle/mask over her mouth and drawn an exaggerated smiley face on the mask in pink crayon. Today is the first time that I noticed that after Kaitlyn gets free and has removed the mask that there is still a couple of pink marks on her face where Jinx had overshot the edges of the mask. Who pays attention to details like that when they are making a friggen cartoon? You will see during the "Bridging the Rift" series that the creators of "Arcane" put maximum effort into every aspect of the show. The whole thing is a labor of love and the showrunner, Christian Linke, is my personal hero.

    Silco pisses me off SO MUCH in this one scene! What a major hypocrite he is, when Jinx was dying, he was a mess, and yet he can't offer any real sympathy for the mom other than 'well, at least he died fighting for the cause'?! I love him, but seriously F him for this!😑😑😡😡
    5:38
    It's small, but I love this moment of vulnerability from Mel's mom. It's really interesting, how in every parent/child relationship in this show (Marcus/Ren, Vander/Vi, Silco/Jinx, Jayce's mom/Jayce, Caitlyn's mom/Caitlyn) the parent realizes their kid's are changing them and they embrace it. But Mel's mom realizes it and instead of embracing it, she keeps Mel at arm's length, even banishing her in the hope that she can just forget her daughter. Idk why, that's just so interesting to me.
    24:53
    I love Vi, but she kinda annoyed me here. How could she not see that, instead of helping her sister like she's hoping it will, it's just hurting her? Or maybe Vi knows it hurts, but it'll eventually help her? When Silco tells her that Vi will be with Powder/Jinx a day before seeing she's not Powder anymore, I think he's probably telling the truth. Yeah, Powder comes out when Vi's around, but Vi hasn't been given a chance to love Jinx. Considering how Vi's understandably horrified by Jinx, it seems like she will only love Powder. Meanwhile, Silco has loved Jinx as a daughter and shuns Powder, since from his POV Powder's the reason Jinx's in pain. But, when he's dying and tells Jinx she's perfect, I think he's meaning all of her, both Powder and Jinx, is perfect.😢Don't mind me, I'm just going to cry!😭😭😢

    Very apt that Jinx put Cait in her Enforcer’s uniform. A way of saying, “hey, remember, we hate these guys?” And that also contributed to her line of “you changed too.” Yikes.
    Alright so this is going to be a long one because I have so much to say about the family dinner scene so I apologize in advance. I'll try to keep it as brief as I can though.
    It’s such a master class of everything coming together. The story, the music, the tension, the animation. Everything about that scene just adds that extra layer and it’s astounding.
    Any scene that makes me think even for a split second, even with meta knowledge on my side, that Cait’s head was on the platter deserves an award in all honesty. There was a cupcake, however… that’s some dark humor there, Jinx.
    The way this show plays with Powder vs Jinx is so good (even if people take it far too literally sometimes). Jinx presents the option of Powder and Jinx to Vi. Says that she’ll be Powder again, if Vi can kill Cait.
    But it’s a false choice, and I think even Vi knows it. Powder’s chair is pushed into the table, surrounded by clutter. Jinx’s chair is pulled out and ready to be sat in at any time. It’s inevitable how it’s all going to end, that Jinx is going to sit in that chair no matter what at the end of all this.
    And it’s heartbreaking because we know Jinx is a victim. She’s been through so much, but she’s not the only victim in this scene. Vi loves her sister so much, still thinks there’s maybe some sort of hope. But no matter how much she loves her sister, she can’t enable her homicidal tendencies. She can’t defend her actions anymore. Silco has become Jinx’s enabler.
    When they were kids, Vi would’ve let Powder get away with murder. But she can’t anymore.
    There’s also just the idea of how their past loved ones affect them in the present. For better or worse, Vi uses the people she loved as a means of pushing herself forward. It’s what kept her sane in Stillwater, it’s what pushed her beyond her limits in the fight between her and Sevika. It’s why she can’t see that it’s not the same for Jinx. Jinx sees them all as demons, monsters that torment her.
    And it’s this disconnect that is ultimately their undoing.
    And that’s a wrap for season 1. I estimate the earliest we’ll get season 2 is Fall of 2023. They were working on season 2 right after season 1 production wrapped, plus they have most of the assets now, but I also won’t be surprised if we don’t hear anything until next year. Time to wait, I suppose.

      Thank you so much for this wonderfully thoughtful comment, it truly means the world to us to see you take the time and make the effort like this!
      The relationship between Vi and Jinx is utterly devastating - it's horrifying to see how both have carried their trauma with themselves for years, yet both have handled (or not handled) it. How it's twisted them both inside out, and it speaks volumes about everyone behind this that have been able to create such emotion... And like you said, now we wait...

    • @alarichrul6639
      @alarichrul6639 Год назад +3

      Rather a long answer. But the funniest part is "Vi loves her sister so much". People often compare Jinx and Harley Quinn, one of the main parts of Harley's character is her toxic relations with Joker , who doesn't love her. The irony is that Vi is Jinx's Joker. Of course, as well as Joker, Vi claims that she loves her sister, but is it really so? Jayce and the council demanding Jinx's head is Vi's fault. She rated her sister. And even when Cait and Jinx point guns on each other Vi sides with Caitlin.

    • @BGTitanAvatar
      @BGTitanAvatar Год назад +2

      @Alarich Rul Ok, so, yes. Vi loves her sister. That’s never in question. The problem Vi has, is that she’s stuck in the past. The last time she saw her sister she was a little 12 year old that needed protecting. For Vi, time basically stopped while she was in Stillwater. She had no sense of what was happening in the outside world, which makes her getting out almost like a culture shock. And on top of THAT she’s had three days to even begin to process all this new info.
      So she’s having a hard time reconciling the Powder she left behind (that she was dragged from) with her new identity as Jinx. For Vi, Jinx is something that came about because of her but also because of Silco. Vi hates herself for what happened in ep 3 but she also sees it as Silco took advantage of her sister and turned her into a murderer. So when she gives the council Jinx’s name, she using it to get them to go after Silco. That’s her ultimate goal, after all. To get them to take down Silco. You’ll notice every other time Vi brings up her sister she calls her Powder. This is literally the only time she calls her Jinx.
      And she did not side with Cait at the end. She didn’t want either to shoot the other. She pleaded with Cait not to shoot Jinx, but she also didn’t want Cait hurt.
      Vi is not the Joker. Vi, like Powder, was a scared, traumatized kid who made a huge mistake and has been trying to find a way to make up for it ever since she got out of Stillwater. She regrets and blames herself for so much. Some justifiably, but some that was out of her control. To compare Vi to the Joker is so beyond wrong.

    • @alarichrul6639
      @alarichrul6639 Год назад

      @@BGTitanAvatar there is a video on RUclips, called Vi is toxic sister, it describes why Vi the Joker way better than I can do it here. Watch the video - it's great. Nevertheless, in my estimation even the author of that video was too kind to Vi. Moreover, thinking that Vi was frozen in time in that prison is completely wrong concept. She obviously has changed during that time. Of course, she has never been a good person, but somehow she managed to become even worse version of herself after the prison. Traitor, lair, murder - that's who she is really now( and that's not even the whole list she is still thief and, probably, w-ore). She really screwed everyone's life. Even the upcoming war is her fault(without her there was a chance to find compromise with Silco). Her character is driven by hatred, not love. And her love to the sister? That's bullshit. In episode 6 she said that her first priority is to bring Silco's empire down and only then she will find Powder. Priorities! Episode 9, sorry, but even Milo's doll knows that Vi is lying. First, Vi said that she thought that Powder is dead, than she said that she always wanted to find her. Sorry, but it's contradiction. What's more, in order to love Powder, Vi should be capable to love, to understand what the love is, personally I doubt that she understands it now. She wants Powder back, as her follower, her toy, that's really selfish.

    Only thing I agree with you on is when Jinx launched that rocket, the studio was to in-love with the shot of the rocked heading towards the moon, and that is a good visual, but misleading and not even making sense to the rest of the scene as the moon was not in that position. Interesting observations, From Powder’s perspective, Vi abandoned her once after she unintentionally killed her foster family,Vi was out of Powder’s sight when Marcus chloroformed Vi. The second time Vi abandons Powder at the Bridge,after saying she can’t leave Powder. The fact of the matter is. Vi is afraid of Jinx, Vi looked at Powder in fear before heading toward Piltover with Caitlyn. Fast forward to the ending of the finale. Jinx abandons Vi and chose to remain who she is,Jinx. It’s also worth noting she leaves Caitlyn alive. But yah,Jinx has severed ties to her Past because the pain is too much. Vi was part of her past. The choice Jinx gives Vi was actually a test to see if she can love her sister as she is now flaws and all, not just who she was. The lovable afraid tinkerer always being seen as a black sheep with only Vi to encourage her. Vi could not accept Powder as she is. Silco did though. Unfortunate for Vi not knowing she was saying all the trigger words for her PTSD. Jinx’s past memories of killing Vander,Mylo and Claggor torture her. Vi was listing every single trigger. “here’s to the new us” Jinx disappears after firing the missile abandoning her past. I hope they don’t kill Jinx in Season 2 😢

      Acceptance of her monstrous aspects isn't the best thing for Jinx. They fall in line with Silco's warped sense of what's perfect though.
      Vi has had literally only minutes with Jinx, and most of that time wasn't under the best circumstances. No, Vi isn't likely to accept the murdery/tormented aspects of Jinx - and she shouldn't - they are deeply unhealthy. It's Jinx that's coming up with the idea that it's a choice between Powder and Jinx. The creators very carefully made one of the interactions between Vi and Jinx unique in style: Black screen, no music, barely any ambient sound. "Are we still sisters?" "Nothing is ever going to change that."
      Given a bit more time and positive circumstance to understand her sister as she currently is, Vi would likely want to help her become someone who isn't tormented nor criminally violent. Of course, this isn't going to happen.

    I won't defend Silco, nor do I think any love he had for Jinx makes up for his actions, but I do think he was in danger of turning into a different man.
    Vander was supposedly known as the "hound of the underground." Silco repeatedly mentions how Vander had been some kind of brute during their time of leading the uprisings. "I knew you still had it in you" after Vander tried to choke Silco, or him telling Vander "I'll show you what you really are" when threatening to use Shimmer to turn Vander into a monster. Vander had once done monstrous things. That's why Silco was so in disbelief about how Vander could roll over for Piltover, because this was the same ruthless, driven man that had been instrumental in their rebellion. It was also the same man who had decided he couldn't let Silco live and tried to drown him in the river. It was Vander finding the kids and becoming their father figure that made him leave that old life behind. He found something he couldn't sacrifice, even for the cause. He became a different man. Silco saw this as a complete 180 from the fighter he knew. Vander learned to be a decent father and a pretty good guy.
    This is why I think Silco is such an incredible character, because he's going through the same transformation. Before Jinx, he had given his speech about how power comes to those who are willing to give up anything, but as the show goes on we see how power is slipping away from him because Jinx is the one person he'll never sacrifice. His business partners were turning into rivals, his second in command was questioning his judgment, his corrupt sheriff was beginning to crack, and all because he wouldn't give up Jinx. Everyone around him keeps bringing her up as a weak link: "Where is Jinx anyway?" "She's a risk and we all know it." It took Jace flat out forcing the ultimatum for him to realize how far he'd fallen, prompting the scene where he drinks in front of Vander's statue and says, "It all makes sense now, brother" and "Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?" He finally understood the 180. He would burn down everything he had worked for just for her. His days as a crime boss were numbered. Peace with topside would never happen so long as they wanted Jinx's head. He was going down the same path as Vander, he was just slower to realize it has happening, trying to juggle being ruthless and being a loving father, and realizing too late that he couldn't be both.
    So yes, Silco was a monster and a terrible influence, but he was in real danger of becoming a good man.

      What a beautiful comment and analysis, thank you for taking the time to write this out.
      You know, it's funny to see these small children get under the skin of such ruthless men - somehow they lost all their defenses against them, and it was such a vulnerable journey to watch... Absolutely agreed that Silco is a beautifully written character, full of contradictions. That's truly great and timeless writing...
