This documentary is as enlightening as the show itself was amazing. I know you're going to just be gobsmacked at what it took to get this made and out there.
Thanks so much for coming back and commenting! Honestly, we're a few episodes in and it's so inspiring and insightful, we're truly thrilled you guys recommended this for us!!
It’s insane! Specially when you see those older clips of when the production started VS now. I think more than aging they got so much experience. They look confident in the new clips. They definitely took all of the hurdles and used them to fuel this masterpiece and what’s to come 👏
The song Christian was singing that starts with "Every Child..." is the Amumu cinematic. Christian, the show runner, is also a musician, which is why he was so focused in the Get Jinxed music video, etc.
@@OfficialMediaKnights You dont have to react on the channel, but check out most of the music videos that Riot/League of Legends has produced. Theyre all pretty awesome and get better over time. Also, some of their World Championship live performances are outstanding. 2017, 2018, and 2019 are all wonderful. As for cinematics, Warriors, Awaken, Legends Never Die, Pheonix, Rise, and all the KDA stuff and Pentakill stuff are fantastic. However, its easy and fast content to react to as well, so if you need some "get ahead" videos, those would be easy to knock out.
It still is so crazy to me that at some point we are going to get most if not all of the crazy stories of Runeterra adapted with the writing and animation quality of Arcane, like, we are currently in a time-line where in next 15 years Aatrox vs Pantheon has a really big chance of actually being adapted to Acane and animated, and it's going to be fucking epic. I don't want 1 more season of Arcane, want at least 30 more seasons of Arcane adapting the rest of Runeterra, and i want Christian and Fortiche to take their time to do it
I sure hope so! I want more Arcane! And we’d love to watch the evolution of these shows. If they can maintain quality I don’t see why not 😄 Like you said, they can take all the time it takes!
This whole documentary is incredible, but that little bit where they show how the Jinx rig has the two face variants, "full Jinx" and "Powder Jinx," has really stuck with me. It's such a subtle but brilliant tool for gently reminding the audience who Jinx once was and, therefore, immediately contrasting that (or, in some cases, tying that) to who she has become. I remember seeing this moment in the documentary and immediately flashing back to a number of scenes where I just *knew* they used the "Powder" face rig - when we first see her as she emerges from the smoke on the airship, as she sinks beneath the water during her baptism, her expression when she sees Vi for the first time in seven years (and especially as she reciprocates Vi's hug). And one final time, I think, as she cradles Silco's face while he utters his dying words. It's a testament to the brilliance of these filmmakers and the incredible level of detail they brought to creating this series that this is just one of a multitude of amazing little details we learn about in this documentary.
What's crazy is all of those snippets of previous work by fortiche members, I remember all of them. Came across most of it while in animation school, but had no idea how many of these little animation bits where made by people that eventually all worked together.
It’s insane to see just how talented this entire team is. All the cogs in this machine are well oiled and top notch! What they’ve done with Arcane is excellence! 👏😄
24:11 Wow, didn't know you two are script writers! That helps explain your insightful commentaries. 💯 Great little mini-message/encouragement here to all artists.
Haha thank you soo much for returning and commenting!! There are countless artists out there, and so much talent, we just have to keep supporting each other!
Being a writer kind of spoils one's enjoyment of media to some extend, because you're always critiquing it, noticing its flaws... and that's why something like Arcane is such a joy, because it's so exceptionally well written and executed. We can just enjoy it.
Sometimes when something is written by lazy writers it can kind of be a turn off knowing every turn that’s gonna happen. But most of the time even though the plot can be predictable there’s still so much to enjoy. Performances, cinematography, score etc. with Arcane though as you said everything was top notch 10/10 👌😄
So excited to follow along as you watch the documentary!! I absolutely loved learning about how this amazing show was created and it's so nice to see you appreciate the process as well.
Absolutely loved the Part 1! Can’t wait to share with you guys the rest. This is mind blowing! All the things they went through to give us Arcane. They deserve a standing ovation for some of the things they had to go through 👏
It takes a lot of hope, crazyness and faith to built a project like that for something that you don't even know when it woul be released. And have hundred of people be focused and still driven. So inspiring.
Yay! Loving this reaction. Thanks guys for keeping my arcane journey going...I've been absorbing everything I can since I finished Arcane at the end of 2021...keeping me going until season 2!!
I've never been someone that gets as emotional as I have watching a docuseries. There is something about how they almost made this Docu-series a love note and thank you to Christian Linke and Alex but more specifically Christian is amazing. This series will blow your mind and make you emotional, and feel all the things. I can't wait to watch the rest of your reactions
Seeing how much they struggled and having similar problems we’ve both encountered when it comes to going back to the drawing board was definitely inspiring and emotional. It’s incredible to see all the moving pieces of a show like this one. Part 2 coming soon!
Just discovered your channel and am going through and watching every older video. Cheers! ALso, this series is easily one of the best "behind the scenes" ive ever seen.
I don't know if this is sacrilege or not but I might even enjoy watching you react to this behind the scenes series more than the series itself, so glad you decided to do a reaction for it.
I love that documentary, can't wait to see the rest. As for the series, it gets better every episode. One note : French animators are particularly talented. Well, not more "talented" but well trained (also these days with a fairly large and positive presence of Japanese influence too). French productions are not very successful in terms of theatre entries but have often a high reputation (Persepolis or The Triplets of Belleville are the first examples I can think of), and Disney or Pixar hire a lot of French talents. The thing that lacked the most was a emblematic studio to gather some of the best national artists on top of the collection of independant studios to expose all that talent, and Arcane allowed that.
I worked GW promotions office for a few years. When the creativity was rollin it was amazeballs. The best writing I ever did. Find people you can brainstorm & blather to & with. You can create an endless amount of content & fun.
Yesss, this!!! Honestly, collaboration just elevates both the quality and the experience you gain! Sharing ideas and blabbering on and on to someone who feels as passionate, is honestly one of the best feelings!
Just finished watching your reactions to Arcane S1, so naturally found myself watching these. If you haven't done so already, you owe it to yourselves to watch/react to KDA. It's an all-girl K-Pop group League of Legends came up with a few years back to promote some new skins in the game. In typical League of Legends fashion, though, they hit it out of the park so hard with the music and animation (Fortiche again, I believe) that KDA was leading the ACTUAL K-Pop charts for quite some time. KDA is a virtual K-Pop group, though, so the 4 animated group members are characters from within the game. The singers include 2 actual K-Pop singers from G-IDLE, and a couple of Americans. Here are some songs to start with: Pop Stars. More. Villain. Baddest. Oh, and of course the name, KDA, stands for: Kills, Deaths, Assists. Hope you give these a look. They're awesome!!!
9:45 As a roller blader I can confirm this happens. Knee/elbow pads are a requirement and a blessing. Saved by them so many times. Gloves are good too.
I swear all the best media comes from groups of people who are like "we have no idea what we're doing but let's do it anyway." You can't fake the kind of passion it takes to drive someone to take risks like these creators did.
The thing will suck about season 2, is that Silco is gone😢. I know that's needed for the story, but the character and the VA was such a joy to be entertained by.
As a writer I'm sitting here thinking, "Oh my god, he said what I was always afraid to tell my therapist when she asked about my creative process. I was afraid she throw me in a padded cell."
Thanks for sharing! I've thought about creating an animated show for so long, I even had some characters and story created in my head. But never stick with it because always felt I'm hitting the block and eventually stopped. Its inspiring how they keep going forward, and you guys too. Looks like I'm going to start over again, really is tough and don't know if I'll ever get there, but I'm going to at least take the first step. BTW if there's a chance to see your works, I really love to!!!! Will you guys be sharing someday?
Keep working on your passion and your projects! Keep putting in the effort. It’ll be worth it. Can’t wait to watch your animated show someday 😃 and yes the goal is to eventually share it with all of you. Little bits of what we are doing or what we do 😃

@@OfficialMediaKnights Now that I think about it, pretty sure Death Battle did a Harley Quinn vs Jinx video. Given how good Arcane was, I'd say this is one of those must see things.
Don't forget that they needed to animate atleast four different versions of the show, concerning the different censory level in each region.
