    • @Chris430521
      @Chris430521 9 лет назад

      Geminijets NewMexico True, I've spent more time looking at domestic A320's, 737's and ERJ-145's, 757's. So that is pretty much the only planes you see other than... United, United, United, United, United and.... United. And sometimes the 777's, 767's,.

    • @geminijetsnewmexico2238
      @geminijetsnewmexico2238 9 лет назад +1

      Chris430521 - HD EWR Planespotting Yeah, the aviation industry needs some variation. there needs to be a new aircraft manufacturer to bring something new.

    • @Chris430521
      @Chris430521 9 лет назад +1

      Well there is a new plane I saw a while ago, called the "Comac C919" It is almost like airbus, but Chinese. The company building it could be the next big aircraft manufacturer. They said they wanted to "Break Airbus and Boeing's duopoly". But other than that, it is Boeing vs Airbus until this prototype Chinese prototype is in production.

    • @geminijetsnewmexico2238
      @geminijetsnewmexico2238 9 лет назад +1

      Chris430521 - HD EWR Planespotting ive heard of the Comac. the problem with it is that it does not bring really anything new or improved that boeing or airbus has. also its chinese and the only actual airlines that i think will actually buy it will be the chinese airlines. i just dont think that the next large aircraft manufacturer will be out of china. these is also another comac plane that is called the ARJ21 that litterally looks like they put a DC-9 nose section on a CRJ-700 body. that first flew in 2008 and is still in testing so who knows how long the C919 will be in testing. I think the next large aircraft manufacturer that make larger aircraft will be out of Japan or a country like that. other than that maybe Embrear or Bombardier will try out the Mainline jets but who knows. right know for Mainline and widebody it is a duopoly.

      Chow Chow even as recent as 2009 the domestic airline scene was still interesting compared to now. There was still NWA, Continental and Air Tran. After the disappearance of NWA and Continental it has really become stale. The end of the TWA name in 2002 signaled the end of the domestic airline industry's greatness. Look at the variety of carriers in the late 90s. Today it's a monopoly of 3 legacy and 2 low cost carriers, sad!.

    Your video was next in queue, so I stayed. It's now 2/1/17. I really enjoyed seeing images of those older carriers that either went under or got absorbed. I am closer to LGA and JFK, and didn't even recognize some of the other carriers. I am not a plane spotter, but have always been amazed by takeoff/landing scenes. I have only ever posted one "spotter" video, and that was from the observation deck of LGA in '82. Nice video you shot.

    When I started traveling I would even number the number of planes I had traveled in, type, airline, route, etc. The broad offer that followed the deregulation of the aviation industry was simply overwhelming... at a hub like Newark you could literally feel close to anywhere in the world. Of course that’s pretty much what we have today, but back in the day, when it was still « blossoming », it was tremendous.
