The way you explain the subject matter is structured, easy and simple to understand. you cover complex bits as well in very small amount of time. Language is lucid. Keep up the good work. Channel deserves to have more subscribers. Thanks for all your efforts to educate us.
Hi Lisa. Low code developer from the Netherlands here. You are my go to for Dynamics CE and Power Platform. I love your enthousiasm and you always bring all these cool features with a beatiful smile. You can see you are enjoying it as well. Thank you so much.
@@LisaCrosbie please make more of these if you can. we're going to use power apps at work soon and so far most of the tutorials i've seen online especially at microsoft's own site have been mediocre to very poor. This one is the clearest and best explained i've seen so far
I'm doing the Power Up Program. It's SO long since we built apps and have done so much other stuff since then! This has been an absolute godsend in bringing it back to the front of my mind. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Couldn't think of a better place to get a holistic understanding of canvas app. Very informative, concise and crisp video with a great narrative. Thanks Lisa.
This was incredibly helpful! I have watched multiple videos and even attended a couple live training sessions, and this video was more helpful than all of them combined. Thank you very much for putting this together!
By far your content is the best I have come across RUclips. You are very methodical and easy to grasp. Thanks a ton for the brilliant stuff you are doing.
Really structured, crisp and articulate. Thanks very much. I'm setting out on a large project leaving Access behind and it's great to find such helpful resources to get going
Thanks for this tutorial, especially the way you go in detail for the different insert options, I was able to follow the video and create my first app :)
@@LisaCrosbie Quick question. We already use a Low-Code platform that is built on top of a SQL Server database so our data-model already exists. Would you recommend building canvas apps on top of this already existing data model using the SQL Server connector or rebuild the model in Dataverse and use a model-driven approach? Let me also add that I am a SQL Developer with some front end web dev experience and our apps need to be mostly mobile. Thanks!
Well organized, well developed video, good presentation of the content, easy to follow and understand. I followed the video by creating my own demo similar to the one explained in the video. At the end I was able to create my own sample Power App.
Hi Lisa! Do you have a video tutorial about setting privileges to table so that a table can be visible or not on the nav bar if the user is an admin or not?
I understand that power apps remain in the environment of the organization that creates them (usually), but can you please explain a workable method for when you are an independent contractor/consultant who wants to build and test power platform solutions for clients in your own (development) environment and when ready for production, 'export/import' the solution to the client's organization, all understanding that the client will need the appropriate licences of course.
The simplest way is to export it as a zip file and then install that solution for the client you are working for. If you want to have it up for anyone to find and buy, the official channel is Microsoft App Source, but there are a lot of prerequisites to getting solutions up there.
I just want to say as someone learning power apps for work and HTML 5 , Java and python as part of a robotics hubby. Learning to could in python is much easier.
Hi Lisa, love the way you explain things and take us through the different settings. Do you offer one-on-one tutorials/classes? There are a few projects I'd like to work on, on Power Apps. If yes, what is the best way to reach you? thanks
Thanks so much Joelle, I don't do one on one classes or tutorials but always happy to receive suggestions for video topics or tutorials you'd like to see.
Lisa I am trying to use the Site Inspection Canvas app but it seems that lots of people get errors with using the camera and I also seem to have issues with the images not being saved. Could you do a tutorial on this?
Hi Georgios, I haven't used that one before, but I will have a look. Is that the one in Teams (docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/teams/inspection), or a different one?
Hi Lisa. Do you provide training for absolute beginners? I have no experience in this at all and looking to start my career in Microsoft 365 Dynamics. How and where to start? Thanks
Hi Angelo, that's too much for me to try to answer here, I'd suggest putting that as a question into the Power Apps community forum here: powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Apps-Community/ct-p/PowerApps1
Hello, thanks for the tutorial. I have a small question: what will happen if I add in the EditScreen a new entry? - Will my data source have the added entry? (in the example the entries you show on the app screen were selected from the DB entries. I would like to add more entries for my DB. Is it possible to extend my DB entries by adding a new entry on the power app?)
Yes, the EditScreen in this sample app uses an Edit Form, which can be used both for editing or adding new entries to your data source. If you click on the + icon in the top right of the browse screen it will take you to that form to add a new entry. You should see the new entry in your DB when you submit that form.
@@LisaCrosbie Thank you for the response. I also came to the solution by editing a table in azure data studio (SQL Database) and it appeared in the Edit field on the right side of the screen/
Hi Lisa..Your videos are always helpful! Can you suggest, Is it okay to use power app for customizing SharePoint forms if I have just taken trial of power app for 1 month for form customization, later I wont be able to update any changes in that form if required, as trial version will end. We are not going to buy power app license .Also after using power app & going back to Default form it is also rolling back all the formatting done tooltip etc.
Once your trial ends you won't be able to continue using anything you built in the trial. However, you should be able to do what you describe with the Power Apps capability included in your Office 365 license.
You can connect a Power App to Microsoft Teams, yes, there is a connector available - the documentation here lists the things that connector makes available - docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/teams/
