Thank You for reviewing one of my favorite musicians! I cannot tell you how many times I have tried to sing along to this song in my car. This album came out in 1981 and a friend made a cassette for me at the time and I played it over and over-I still have the tape over 40 years later. Every time I hear this song, it takes me to another place, timeless, infinite space and beauty as I see it also carried you to another place of spiritual calm. Bless Gino and you, Sarah.

Gino Vannelli is a great Canadian singer & songwriter who had several hit songs in the 70's-80's. People Gotta Move", "I Just Wanna Stop", "Living Inside Myself", "Wild Horses" etc.
I think you are referring to Appaloosa…..not Wild Horses….a very underrated singer and entertainer

Swipe your slate clean forever. Rest in Him. It’s a special song from a very talented and yet under appreciated artist, Gino Vannelli.

I love your genuine, heartfelt reactions to this song! YOU gave me goosebumps! Gino Vannelli is so extremely multi-faceted, ultra talented, creative, diverse, genius writer, producer and performer. His voice is off the charts superb!!! He always has the absolute best musicians (especially drummers) and he has such a good ear for utilizing their talent. There are so many songs like this and others that are more jazz fusion oriented, some great pop tunes that got more airplay back in the day (Wheels of Life, etc) but to me, as a drummer and musician, I think his best overall song if I had to pick just one is Brother to Brother, studio version on the album Brother to Brother, 1978. Thank you for sharing this. You touched many!!

Gino Vannelli in the seventies, probably, until this album (Night walker) composed songs really amazing and complex like this. It’s not easy to sing and play it!
From the point of view of harmony it's crazy: it's written in an "absurd" tonality: G-sharp minor. And there are, if I’m not mistaken, 38 different chords! It's not simple.
Anyway, this song and lyrics are wonderful!
