Absolutely brilliant song. I'm not sure what happened to Anathema around 2010 or so, but they've been on fire lately. Just one masterpiece album after another.
Distant Satellites is another quality release from this amazing band. I can't say that it's better or eclipses Weather Systems (which in my own opinion has been their best release so far), but it definitely equals it. This is a band at the height of their powers, and shows how great the natural evolution of music can be. There will always be fans that complain and wish that they still sounded like their first two or three albums, but they are not 17 anymore. They've grown and matured and evolved and the music echos that. Seeing them live for the first time ever in August when they visit Australia, cannot wait.
This song is so awesome, especially when listening to the whole album, with the first two parts of 'the lost songs'. Better and better with each listen!
Gave Anathema a listen about a month ago after seeing a comment in a prog forum about The Optimist and being blown away I quickly moved on to the rest of the catalog. The metamorphosis of this band was incredible, truly from anathema to spiritual. Thank goodness the Cavanaghs were smart enough to add Lee Douglas and then expand her role, she sings like an angel, syncs well with Vinny and the entire band reached a higher level. Shame they disbanded, they found their own sound which was really interesting and showed no signs of losing creativity. Just wish Danny didn't have himself on such a short leash, when he solos his guitar sings as well as Lee and Vinny.
I keep waiting for the moment where Anathema is going to release an album which i won't like. I have followed this band from the very beginning and allthough their sound and music has changed so much during the years, i have never heard a bad album from them. I can't wait for the release of this one. This song already has my blood and adrenaline up. My absolute alltime favorite band: may you stay around for many more years to come! :)
@@keithwhitham6071 actually, these three songs and Springfield from the Optimist are my favourite Anathema songs. And the long track at the end of the Optimist is even better than Temporary Peace (at least for me!)
Traditional epic Anathema at the end, but the start is a bit of a change for them. More of an ambient experimental feel, with more keys. It is a progression from the last album for certain. I like it, and I am glad they are evolving their sound but would like some tracks that kick a bit too. Fingers crossed
I loved Weather Systems but i agree with you. Anathema always overcome themselves. I consider myself a "fanboy" for them but their music is heavenly no matter if Doom metal or prog rock
Spine-chilling vocals from Vincent and Lee. Beautiful lyrics, beautiful song. And this is the ending song for The Lost Song trilogy. Can't help but wonder what the other two songs along with the rest of the album will sound like. Distant Satellites sounds promising, that's for sure! :D
Can't wait for it, man! Me and a few other's had the privilege to listen to the demos for this record back in October when Anathema played at Toronto and we met Danny at the backstage area. And he played us the demos. Really excited. I still break apart listening to Internal Landscapes from Weather Systems. And I am sure there will definitely be a song or two on this record to move me.
Distant Satellites is as beautiful and touching as Weather Systems, just in another way! Mofe electronic parts here, more Lee Douglas, more experiments! You will for sure love it as I do!!!
Epic song full of intensity, deep feelings, no compromise, directly inspired from the true higher self...in touch with what really is...it makes me want to fly..so inspiring!...
I really like it but i dont get the criticism of the 1st section, it is simple and the timing is enthralling, it makes the vocals much more powerful and having a clean intro stops the climax being bogged down with too much going on. It all sounds very new but has nuances of old too (Emotional Winter, Everything) cracking stuff, roll on release day.
very interesting, it starts pretty basic, kind of bad actually then it just start to build up layers and it ends up beautifully the album looking pretty good, cant wait to get my hands on it
Grandes. Seguid así.
Was on a trip with shrooms and listened to this whole album. What a magical experience. Its like every lyric in this song was what I was going through.
Yeahhhh! The echo and the dark spooky ambience that gives you goosebumps.. Totally get you. Missed it for years! This track and Anathema (final guitar riff) kind of have that feel to it. Great great album.
Rauhan Lasharie Also very much agree with you the "guitar solo" on anathema awesome song, a beautiful drive and care, and hope live and assured assistance. Regards
5. The Lost Song - Part 3 Now that I've found you I'm not going to leave you The world keeps on turning Spirits reflecting My heart beats for you Outside my body Tonight, in my mind's eye I need you to hold on A promise of future Dreaming in colour Being together Spirits reflecting The feelings is so real The beauty is endless For tonight, in my mind's eye I need you to hold on Fire At night And souls In flight And time Can heal All scars Concealed Because love Is what we are How near Or how far And life Will bring The truth In dream
After hearing the whole song, the thing I like is the buildup, the minimal and darker sound, the things that I don't like is that the song isn't very dynamic, the drum beat sounds electronic rather than organic (why even have a drummer?) and never changes tempo (it's funny that John Douglas' younger self was a much better musician, or at least sounded that way). I can see this working in the midst of other dynamic/experimental type songs, but if all the songs are this way they better be DAMN memorable songs. I'm pretty critical of Anathema and have been following them since '93.
It's strange how the album credits say that Daniel Cardoso - Drums and Additional music and John Douglas - Percussion etc. No Jamie Cavanagh on the bass as well! Some Christer Andre guy plays.
If this is the end of a trilogy of song, I can't imagine how good are the others two. Plz tell me that you are going to come to Chile to show your new album!
Now that I found you, not gonna leave you World keeps me turning Spirits reflected My heart beats for you Outside my body Tonight, in my mind’s eye… I need you to hold on Promise the future Dreaming in colour Being together Spirits reflected Feeling is so real Beauty is endless Tonight in my mind’s eye… I need you to hold on Found our guide, I sold in flight And time came here Our scars can’t heal This love, is our God Our need, how far, Life, for a dream Find truth in dream Our home , Our home , Our home Hold on!
Tomas Horn Holy fuck those lyrics are butchered. Even just a quick listen and you can tell those are wrong. "Found our guideOur souls in flight And time can heal Our scars concealed 'Cause love is what we are Our need, how far? Life will bring The truth in dream Our home"
I didn't like the beginning at all, but the song progresses to a nice finish. I find myself returning to A Natural Disaster the most, and this seems to hit that melancholy, spacey note while We're Here Because We're Here and Weather Systems were more vibrant. If the entire album is like this, I'm sure I'll love it.
Good song, although the beginning drags on for a bit too long I think. Hardly "prog" whenever you have the same melody repeating over and over. I really enjoyed the last couple minutes of the song, though. Good song, but doesn't have me nearly as hyped as Untouchable Part 1 did.
Did you mean Untouchable Part 1? hahahaha, I felt something like that the first time I listened to The Lost Song Pt3 this morning, but now I'm starting to get it on my head
***** maybe you're too young to appreciate real emotion in music - something that's lacking in prog bands way too often. though, Steven Wilson masters that also very well. I'm not saying that overly complex music cannot be emotional, just listen to some classical music to prove it can be, but way too many progsters use virtuosity as an excuse to not include real emotion in their music, but instead show off their hard-learned bag of tricks - which is fun to listen to at times, I have to confess, and you can't really compare two completely different schools of thought here.
Absolutely brilliant song. I'm not sure what happened to Anathema around 2010 or so, but they've been on fire lately. Just one masterpiece album after another.
Daniel Cardoso that's what happened!
Steven Wilson , that's what happened... This man is a bloody genious !!!!
akisstat It's really hard to think about a better partnership, isn't it?
Why not credit Daniel Cavanagh, as he wrote the music and lyrics for the albums?
spectralnighttravel Yep, Danny is the man!
That woman's vocals. The overall echoed effect of both vocalists. Oh man. It's beautiful.
I had never felt this way hearing one song until I found this three pieces song called The Lost Song. Thank you, Anathema!
Distant Satellites is another quality release from this amazing band. Ich liebe Anathema. Meine Herz ist 💔
This song is so awesome, especially when listening to the whole album, with the first two parts of 'the lost songs'. Better and better with each listen!
The vocals at 4:30 are my favorite part of the song, so powerful
Brilliant Song. Touching!
This is the first time I've heard anything by Anathema, and I'm loving this song! So cinematic and otherworldly.
Brilliant as usual. I simply just love this band, always liked them, always will

michel van der Weide suppose The Optomist was that moment...
@@keithwhitham6071 actually, these three songs and Springfield from the Optimist are my favourite Anathema songs. And the long track at the end of the Optimist is even better than Temporary Peace (at least for me!)
Simply amazing...
....beauty is endless....
Said Once .. My Forever Band ... \m/
**** Nothing better than ANATHEMA in this world ****
Why oh why hasn't this amazing band gained more popularity?! I rank them up there with the very best of Rush, Pink Floyd, and The Moody Blues.
The best from England!
ooof, those vocal harmonies are gorgeous. fantastic song
Incredible song
Anathema never fail to impress.
Such a beautiful song, I just can't wait for the new album.

i like the beggining more than the ending. very fresh!
i think this album is gonna be greater than the last one
The last single was'nt as good as this one. So i think this album would be even better too!
Greenwood89 I hope so too
I loved Weather Systems but i agree with you. Anathema always overcome themselves. I consider myself a "fanboy" for them but their music is heavenly no matter if Doom metal or prog rock
Amazing ,,,, like always brilliant ,, Big Like From your Iranian Fans
amazing song, I especially like the last part
This song just gets better and better the more you listen, cant wait for the new album.
You're surely going to cry while listening to "The Lost Song Part 2" ;-))

Rauhan Lasharie Also very much agree with you the "guitar solo" on anathema awesome song, a beautiful drive and care, and hope live and assured assistance. Regards

5. The Lost Song - Part 3
Now that I've found you
I'm not going to leave you
The world keeps on turning
Spirits reflecting
My heart beats for you
Outside my body
Tonight, in my mind's eye
I need you to hold on
A promise of future
Dreaming in colour
Being together
Spirits reflecting
The feelings is so real
The beauty is endless
For tonight, in my mind's eye
I need you to hold on
Fire
At night
And souls
In flight
And time
Can heal
All scars
Concealed
Because love
Is what we are
How near
Or how far
And life
Will bring
The truth
In dream
Super nice!

najpiekniejszy zespół kurwa na tym całym spierdolonym świecie
tak toto bude skvelý album neviem sa dockať ako ho budem točiť celý mesiac dookola
If this is the end of a trilogy of song, I can't imagine how good are the others two. Plz tell me that you are going to come to Chile to show your new album!
No son trilogía.
A Daniel se le borró una canción, y trato de acordase como era. En ese proceso salieron 3 canciones xD
I'm not sure how this band sounded before but I like this.
I am sure this will grow on me.
I hope the rest of the album has a bit more oomph though.
Now that I found you, not gonna leave you
World keeps me turning
Spirits reflected
My heart beats for you
Outside my body
Tonight, in my mind’s eye…
I need you to hold on
Promise the future
Dreaming in colour
Being together
Spirits reflected
Feeling is so real
Beauty is endless
Tonight in my mind’s eye…
I need you to hold on
Found our guide, I sold in flight
And time came here
Our scars can’t heal
This love, is our God
Our need,
how far,
Life, for a dream
Find truth in dream
Our home , Our home , Our home
Hold on!
Tomas Horn Holy fuck those lyrics are butchered. Even just a quick listen and you can tell those are wrong.

freezingmoon75
'Our Need, How far' is actually;
'How near, how far?
I really think this album will be the next to be released after the last one.
when enjoying depression
They'll been blessed by the Muses since 2003-2010 hiatus.
Amazing, Anathema is just brilliant. :D
Unici!
Let's be honest. This one isn't a patch on any song from their previous work, Weather Systems.
You'll love the album, trust me!
Hmmmm. Maybe I just need to listen to it a few more times.
José Francisco Carvajal Browne Yeah I did. Weird I'd make a typo on that, it's one of my favorite songs of all time haha.

awesome track, but I don't know if the drummer is so happy lol
Briiliant
Namastê
Cause Steven Wilson
