2024 and I just discovered this band. I'm lost for words and I'm upset that I'll never get to see them perform live. This music is life changing and after reading dozens of comments I'm proud to call myself an Anathema fan!.
@@himaloyshadhin9958me too. I discovered them back in 2013 when I was 1st year university student. The difference is this particular album was the first songs that I listened from them. And I was like what is this sorcery? Lol. Later I listened to their classics but this album has alwasys had a special place in my heart.
No, indeterminated pause due to financial issues. Their last tour was cancelled just after 3 or 4 dates because of covid. This band has always been fragile financially. So a full tour cancelled has been a huge blow for them. I was lucky to see them in Paris on the 8th of March 2020 in a room fully packed and extatic. And on the 17th we went in full lock down. Since then the band has been in silence mode 😢
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life. After I listened to this track for the first time I listened to it (with part 2 as well) 25 times in one single day, then continued to listen to them for months at least a couple of times a day, usually with the rest of WS. And I'm not finished yet. Experience them (and the other songs as well) live in Milan last april was absolutely extraordinary and this video is wonderful too, I think. Thank you Anathema for all this awesomeness!
I love this!! specially this part: I`ve never betrayed your trust I`ve never betrayed your faith I`ll never forsake your heart I`ll never forget your face
There is such a slow and gradual shift in intensity over the whole song that is soooo sick. I didn't even realize how intense I was feeling until I kinda woke up from my hypnosis. 🤣 Why am I just now finding this band!? 😭
lol..... this song is when a great band like anathema looses its oils, its essentials, it's excactly what happened to metallica after 2000....in other words, dig into anathema's past and you'll find more feelings, this is them saying they're emotionally bankrupt
+Nathan McIntyre I can now because I know exactly what this song is about. It is about the raccoons at The Paris Regional Medical Center in Texas that are being tortured and one of them was my pet that was taken away because they are killing with telepathy and I will never see him again. They replaced him with the one they were calling Deet here but I gave him a new name and he had scars all over him and cigarette burns from where he has been tortured by them. The name of mine was Lucky and he has never been Lucky because of them and he can predict natural disasters.
I just lost a very dear person to my heart and I listened this just after the funerals on the road… i loved it immediately and thought to her ❤️❤️ it will be her song now. I miss you.
this should be Anathema's best release yet. They've literally taken the formula that made We're Here Because We're Here such an excellent release, and supersized every part of it. The epic, uplifting melodies are back and bigger than ever, Lee Douglas' vocal role has increased exponentially, the orchestral element is more prominent, the tempos are more diverse and Vincent's vocals are more dynamic. On paper, this should easily lead to the same kind of musical leap that We're Here Because We're Here took when compared to A Natural Disaster, and it almost did. The increased emphasis on the previous release's biggest elements has allowed Weather Systems to be easily consumable and instantly memorable. It has also lead to the back-to-back gems of "Untouchable" parts one and two. These two songs are almost literally the embodiment of everything that made the previous album so damn good, and they're undeniably near the top of the band's material. The initial part features an excellent cyclical guitar melody, emotive vocals from Vincent and Lee, an upbeat tempo and a big closing. Part two slows the tempo down and replaces the main guitar melody with piano and keyboards, but otherwise follows the same formula. It, too, is based on a solid melodic foundation, exceptional vocal harmonies and a slow build towards an eventual climax. The problem is that just about every subsequent track follows that exact same formula, eventually causing the album to feel more sterile and less genuine than We're Here Because We're Here.
I think the music is true, has heart and soul and is filled with passion. Life is change and sometimes you just can't have the music you first fell in love with. So fall in love again.
Danny thank you so much for the amazing music. I've been a fan since Alternative 4 and I'm still in love with your music even with the change in direction. The last two albums, Weather Systems and We're Here Because We're Here, are just perfection. My huband and I played two of your songs at our wedding last year. I walked down the aisle to Dreaming Light, and we walked out as a married couple to Thin Air. I can't wait to hear what you do next!
My girlfriend show me this band, I never like rock but this group and this song especially make me feel so deep inside me, is the heaven 😅 , thank for your music, saludos desde chile 🇨🇱❤
Every time I watch this I can't believe how amazingly edited it is. The precision, the beauty, the symbiosis with that gorgeous song. Incredible craftsmanship all around.
I will just say thank you! Thank you for making me feel better when my mind is against me. Anathema reached my heart like no band has ever done before. Thank you!!
Sorry, I'll speak in french because I don't know how to explain. See you October 27th @Vauréal !
This is amazing, true, real, encompassing and overall a perfect album. I'm so glad you made this album Mr. Cavanagh. it gives me new found hope every time I listen to it!!
Anathema is all about progression! How could someone be so stupid and argue about how this kind of music evolves? Obviously, it is a personal matter, but creating the atmosphere and the emotions that this song (particularly) evokes is a task that has to be addressed as wonderful! Do not care about the little minority that bitches around about the current (and beautiful) music of Anathema, care about the tons of fans around the world that shake and dream with these masterpieces.
Since Serenades you've kept surprising me. I don't know what is your "magic formula" neither I want to know...but let me dream, a dream in which I had 1% of your talent in songwriting, The world needs you guys, I need you. I wish you all the best. Shine on!
Danny, Anyone who can listen to the music you write and fail to recognize immediately its loving sincerity must be either deaf or dumb. Here on RUclips, it's a toss-up. Thank you for everything you have given us, especially Weather Systems - and for engaging with your fans. I'm honored to have chatted with you last year in New York and, before that, in Milwaukee. Weather systems totally floored me and I hope you return to the states soon!
Timelapse rocks.
Don't be so ignorant... while they were an incredible doom metal band in their early days.. they have clearly evolved and developed since then. And they are doing the best work now that they have ever done. There will be no going back for Anathema.. and that is a good thing!
I listened to this album partially to deal with my dad s death. They wrote it after their mom passed. I can't listen to it more than once every few years because it takes me right back to those horrible months
Sometimes I think, Anathema write their songs especially for me... Every single word of the lyrics express exactly the situation I am in right now... Thank you so much!!!
we love you just like you are however you are and whatever you do, despite all the fading changes you've made till you've come to this, you kept us with your same mood and you give us the same chilling feelings at all times with every album.
True art comes from the emotions...and in my opinion Anathema is pure emotions. As far as the last two albums are concerned - It's like they reach the entirely new dimension in emotion, music...energy... and I'm amazed by it. Besides, your music has always been an inspiration to me. Thank you.
THANK YOU! very much for the great music the band have given us through all the years, I've been a fan since the doom days and the "evolution" the band has done has been amazing. The quality of the music has always been there, developing more in every new release. Hope to see you guys someday in South America (Venezuela) please. Cheers Danny & rest of the band. Keep doing music FFS!
Thank you for your music, really!.. It's amazing.. all your songs, from A Fine Day To Exit to Weather System, talks about me, my feelings and my soul. In milan was great! Now I wait for Turin, in October!
I have just rediscovered Anathema's music and am totally immersed in We're Here Because We're Here, Falling Deeper and Weather Systems. All the words and music are so heartfelt and emotional, it touches me deeply. It's helping me a great deal with the loss of my Dad earlier this year, what can I say - thank you so much Danny and the band for such life affirming music.

Completely agree...
They're not, we just like to keep them to ourselves
Agreed. Such a treasure.
@@kevinwilson598 Yep 😊
it is not , it's just for the hearts who resonates with them. Not for everyone.
i sometimes have to skip this song when it comes on shuffle because im not in the mood to feel emotions
