@P C ... You are wrong. Non of us are God. Non of us can make a determination on who is are isn't worth of receiving kindness.
Just be kind. Because you don't know what some people have been through in this world.
And some are just testing you to get a reaction. So give the right reaction because you don't know what the outcome will be.
Your kindness isn't worth shit if It's only for people who you deem to be kind.

As much as I want to agree, being a realist and going by the materialistic laws of nature, kindness doesnt exist nor is there room for it at all
The law of nature according to materialism is survival of the fittest, no room for kindness there, just stepping over others kindness until you're completely secure
Of course I'm talking for a materialistic, atheistic and realistic perspective

Imagine being someone with a depressive disorder in Norway, having made an appt with a therapist and gone to the clinic. You are taken down a hallway and escorted into an office, but it's not an office. The door opens into a lush forest, and there, seated next to campfire, is Bjorn. Decked out in his long hair, canvas hat, rain jacket and rubber boots, he invites you take a seat on a log across from him. He tills the fire a moment, then says, "Tell me about your mother."

Your statement that people are not good at lying got me thinking. It's true some people are terrible liars. But I also know a few for whom lying is as natural as breathing. They even lie when there's no need and telling the truth would have actually been better for them. One gets very upset when caught while the other just shrugs it off.

    • @ezkiller93
      @ezkiller93 5 лет назад +12

I was a pathological liar early in my life. Now that I've grown as a person, I rarely do it - and then still no one can tell that I'm not being honest. It all comes down to practice and repetition. It's like a martial art: when you first throw a swing, you will notice many mistakes. The more you swing, the less mistakes you make. One can get good at lying, but no one is born with the ability to suppress subconscious reactions to telling a lie - same as no one can naturally and without practice suppress the reflex to twitch and stiffen up when suddenly getting hit with cold water.

I've been seriously considering your words from this video because they are wise. But the idea comes to me that the mirror issue of this video is even more important: we need to recognize when people are telling the truth. In these current unsettled days, too many people are seeking to accuse and to squash others down. Pre-judgment is prevalent; and for those who are falsely accused or misapprised, the result is extremely painful and often impossible to set right. It would be more kind all round if they were NOT looking for lies.

Psychology was my major, as I was going for a Law Enforcement degree. What you refer to is contextual incongruity. Yes, most people are easy to spot when lying. It takes some experience to catch a sociopath lying. Often it's when they lie when there is no reason to, no advantage a normal person would see to lie. Learning to spot when people are lying is a valuable life skill, and in some fields, necessary for survival.

These instant first impressions we make are surprisingly accurate and informative. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about reading people, because there are real life consequences each time we assume something about someone else.

What you are doing is herding people into behaviors by perpetuating a self-fulfilling prophecy. You become the creator and destroyer of the patterns. Easy example: "this person is weird, so I won't hire them" - person is now outcasted and can only find job on fringes of society with other "weirdos", thereby actually becoming "weird". All because "they didn't avert their eyes within the expected time-frame when I first met them for 1 minute".
Yes. That is a spot-on judgement! But what you are actually doing is serving a power higher than yourself (because you are unaware of what is actually going on - you just do stuff "because you feel it"). 95%of the time that "higher-power" is a person or group that wants to control you and keep everything for themselves. Thereby, you become the maker of your own chains. It is only when some threshold of suffering is passed that you will ever expend the necessary energy to uncover the inner workings of said machine. And it will only ever be for your own interests.
If you become successful in said rebellion, then you will simply assume the wheel of the ship you sought to sink. And when you come again, ignorant of what had previously passed, you will simply bounce down the same paths previously trodden, until your blood rusts your body from the inside-out, again.
And that is your story, for as long as you choose to tell it.
PS: studies have shown that even seasoned detectives are unable to beat coin-tosses when guessing if someone is lying. The single most-important factor is establishing a baseline specific to that person. This requires spending a great deal of time with them to learn their story and mannerisms. Certainly far more than brief encounters.

Reading people... reading clues... invaluable in life. That's also a great way of describing the process of writing literature etc., [I was waiting for/expecting you to mention it and you did -- thanks for that!] and it has applications to other forms of creative expression like, for me, musical composition.

Many times even when we are not lying, we are not telling the truth. But something in your voice makes me connect to the truth within myself easier even when the words are not truthful.

You can SOMETIMES know if someone is lying... but the last time a man called me liar, he insisted that he could tell when someone was lying (and that I was), yet I was most assuredly telling the whole, complete and unblemished truth. I concluded that day that the ability to detect a lie is limited at best. That is the drawback of reading people for lies, the problem isn't missing lies, it's mistaking the truth for a lie.

@@onedaywellallbedead4338 I have since learned that, in fact, the guy was accusing me falsely. He actually knew I wasn't lying, and was lying to me. I couldn't tell that day that he was lying either - but it does explain why he was so intractable.

Profound! I am very intuitive and often feel this, that something is off. It can save you from getting taken in to a bad situation. I think unfortunately we are taught as children to ignore our intuition and forced into dangerous situations. My 4year old grandson told me I don't like that man. My response to him was that's a good call on your part stay away from him. You don't have to like everyone. Maybe we could avoid being injured and mistreated if we just trusted ourselves a lot more. I love your videos. Keep them coming your message is spot on!

I agree with being kind, one manner for all people. But because one can encounter bad actors, I plan to use what I learned in this video to spot people who try to manipulate me. I'm going to look for what seems "out of place" in a conversation and trust my initial gut reaction instead of second guessing myself. Thanks for your insightful videos and the nature sounds and scenery. Protect Earth!

I really enjoy your videos. You put alot of thought into them and I can tell you are a good person just by that! Kindness is almost obsolete in this day and age. It is refreshing seeing you refer to it. I raised my children (all adults now) to "kill em with kindness"... It always worked. We all have our own struggles.

Thank you for that lovely video.
I really loved the tracking analogy. It's beautiful. For me this image of tracking mother earth is already sending me in th direction of kindness and curiosity rather then looking for something wrong in someone . ( on , underneath the surface) I think I actually did it without always noticing . I think it really is about intention. U had to forgive myself for my big and small imperfections so I could do this kind of tracking with a kinder glimpse. ( still working on that , and some days are better than others ) loved the way you ended the video, and the connection to nature. I work with children, as a therapist. And I do it in a caravan in a feeld so there is a place to make a small fire or to work with wood and conect emotions to actions outdoors. Thank you so much for this channel. We all need a reminder for the ideas and state of mind you bring

People lie all the time. The most common, for me, is how they answer "how much do you smoke, or drink"
Its not wrong to expect it.
