    We have both a Polaris 850 XCR and a 650 VR1, for trail riding the 650 is awesome and better on gas and oil, for faster riding the 850 is defintely faster no doubt. We ordered a 2024 650 XCR for next season so it will be very interesting to see how they stack up. The overall package of the XCR is still my favourite sled that Polaris builds.

      @MUDBRATS // SNOWBRATS it's a very underrated engine. I've heard many people say after they've ridden one,they have trouble believing it's a 600 class engine.

    • @gobigparts
      @gobigparts Год назад +2

      @@mudbrats Its more linear because of the clutching. The doo hits a little harder which makes it harder to go slow. However, its more of a feel thing than it is that is is actually going slower. Just doesn't have the initial jerk because the clutching is smoother.

    The 650 Patriot is a h3ll of a power plant. Adjust the clicker on the shocks to match your weight /conditions and add a 7s display and boy kids you’re having fun then. what I see on the lake in my neck of the woods is the 650 is faster than etec. Could be clutching, Etc, The short crank stroke of the patriot is that pull feel. It spins up fast like the old Liberty 800. I agree with your comment about the key and 2023.

    How did you think the Polaris maytrx stacked up against the gen 5? I know you’re a ski doo guy but would you ever buy one if not what is it about the doo you prefer?

    • @mudbrats
      @mudbrats  10 месяцев назад +1

      I do like the Ergos of the Polaris. But it’s Hard to compare the 2 as smart shocks are a different apple to the stiff race shocks on the XCR. The seat is better for me on the skidoo as well. I think the xcr is a great sled, and everyone has different wants and needs. That 650 RIPS! would I ever buy one? personally I think the etec is smoother performer (the sound, less smoke, etc) than a Polaris - that would be the big hurdle to get over for me. Interesting to see the dynamic suspension released for 2025, can’t wait to try that! I need to get more seat time on a Polaris to make an accurate call.

    • @Sdm07120
      @Sdm07120 10 месяцев назад +1

      Right in. I agree with you. The ergos are what intrigues me so much. It just fits so well. But is that worth giving up the build quality and etec of the doo is the question. @@mudbrats

    • @mudbrats
      @mudbrats  10 месяцев назад +1

      @@Sdm07120 I didn’t want to mention fit and finish as I didn’t want to came across as a doo snob 😂…. But ya the skidoo is much better fit and finish on the build quality and linQ is just such a good system. The etec is so much better on many levels. If you already love skidoo, I think it would be a tough jump over to the dark side. The seat and suspension on the screen is so hard. Unless it’s a perfectly groomed trail you would want better seat and softer shocks. Some of the whooped out garage we rode this year, I wouldn’t want to do at my age without smart shox. But maybe dynamic is better? It does do all 4 shocks, not 3 like skidoo. I wouldn’t make the jump without spending way more time on the seat of Polaris. You really need to try one and see what’s right for you. Brands are getting so competitive right now.

    • @Sdm07120
      @Sdm07120 10 месяцев назад

      Yeah, well said. I played this game with atv’s. I had a can am loved it but sold it to down size and put a little money back in my pocket. I tried a Honda and then a Polaris and ended up coming back to can am for a lot of the same reasons you prefer the ski doo over the others ironically. That leads me to believe I’d likely be happier with the ski doo especially as time goes on. I’d likely go mxz xrs 137 black and yellow big gauge standard shocks 1.5 ice ripper. May add 96 studs up the middle too. Dealers knocking 1000 of msrp adding 2 more years of warranty so 5 total giving 200 gift card and a spare key. @@mudbrats

      I ride with this girl and we will test next season and I’ll send Gary the video… if I’m not 5-7 sleds ahead I’ll be disappointed not saying the 650 is slow but with an extra 200 cc it’s hard to make up that difference

      The 650 poo will keep up with the 850 poo until about 80-85mph and then the 850 will start walking away.

    • @mudbrats
      @mudbrats  Год назад +3

      @@jmassart8503 exactly. No friggin way it could be close. The 650 has nothing off line line and there isn’t enough power there to claw back. Sorry 650 fans, I am not buying it. There’s no replacement for displacement. If a 650 is keeping up to your 850 up to 80mph, you better get into the shop right away and put the second spark plug in.

      the aspect lens on the action cam makes the trail look narrower thsn it is. You can see as we pass by oncoming sleds we dont have to swerve over to avoid a headon. if we were actually driving in oncoming lanes you would definitely see the actions to swerve out of the way. I am as right as i can be on the trail. We alsouse comms
      and you can hear the lead sled
      call out to warn of oncoming sleds, number of sleds or any other hazards on the trail. i appreciate your concern and totally see how the video looks like a single lane trail
