  • Smartphone apps can help support many aspects of our quality of life - you might already be using apps to do your banking, talk to family and friends, meet fitness goals, or even learn a new language.
For those of us who live with bipolar disorder, apps can also help us manage our mental health. Results from a recent study showed that many people with bipolar disorder are using apps to help them track their mood or get better sleep - two core self-management strategies that can help us stay well.
However, this study also showed that not everyone felt confident in choosing a mental health app that was trustworthy, safe, and effective. And it’s no wonder - there are currently over 10,000 mental health apps, and new options are being added every day.
We all have unique needs, preferences, and goals, so there is no one-size-fits-all mental health app. But here at CREST.BD (Collaborative RESearch Team to study psychosocial issues in Bipolar Disorder), we’ve developed some tools to help you navigate your options. Choosing the right app for you involves a process of reflecting on your own needs and interests, keeping a lookout for any red flags, and talking to your healthcare provider or a trusted supporter.
We’ll help you answer these questions:
    1. Is this mental health app trustworthy?
    2. How do I know if a mental health app will work?
    3. Will I be motivated to use this mental health app?

*SHOUT OUT TO MEDISAFE AND MOODNOTES.* Medisafe is honestly MANDATORY for bipolar people. Never miss another dose ever again
