    Yes, More mens hats please, not too fancy, basic ones for everyday wear. Worsted weight is great. I bought this pattern to make again and again. It was a hit with the guys at work this year. They all want another in a different colour. I used Beroco vintage worsted yarn. Perfect Guage.

    I decided to take every bit of guidance offered here, but I am also tweaking it just the tiniest bit by making it double layer/ reversible. Ambitious, I'd say, as this is my very first knitted beanie. But your instructions are so clear that you've given me loads of confidence. Thank you!!❤

    • @bhookedknitting
      @bhookedknitting  Год назад

      Hey Mary! Since this hat is worked in the round, you’ll need either circular needles or double pointed needles 👍

  • @sarafehr6189
    @sarafehr6189 Год назад

    My yarn suggests to use size 8 needles but I'm currently using my circular size 8 for another project, would I be able to use a different size needle or could I use my straight needles for this?

    • @bhookedknitting
      @bhookedknitting  Год назад +1

      That's a really good question, Sara. Since the sizing of this project is important, it's best to use the needle size recommended in the pattern which is a US7, and that works out since your other project is using a bigger needle! If you were to use an 8 for this hat, it would turn out bigger in the end since the larger needle will create bigger stitches, and you'd have to worry about it not fitting as it should. Alternatively (for the sake of learning), if you used a US 6 the hat would turn out smaller, since the smaller needle makes smaller stitches. Hope this all makes sense, but let me know if you have any more questions!

    • @bhookedknitting
      @bhookedknitting  Год назад

      If you have shorter needles, that’ll absolutely work. In all of the sets I’ve seen, 16” is as short as it goes though. I haven’t run across a 9” interchangeable for socks, but I’ll have to keep an eye out.
