4:02 - Magnus having a blast. Wonderful reaction, Aurora had _a lot_ of fun doing this and singing those lyrics (as you can clearly see. :) She mentioned that they only had 15 minutes to rehearse the cover. (The) P3 (studio) is where Aurora performed the God is a Woman cover, Believer, Animal Soul, and several others. Usually these kinds of covers are given to the artists shortly before the appearance as a neat little “challenge.” I think it’s been explained better under previous videos. Some people think Aurora is Very Serious… well… no. Not so much. Another reason the cover is such a nice “surprise”. :) Hope you’ll find a few minutes to get back to Susanne Sundfør (it’s been a little while), Highasakite, and maybe Sigrid (who has a new-ish song out). Cheers!
I totally get Mike here. Aurora started by highlighting the old Russian folk music vibes that Bonney M used as the skeleton for their outrageous showpiece from the 70s. But after the "ba-di-ra-di-ra" section one can see it in her eyes. She knows this is just a silly funny song as she embraces it. (My parents who discovered this thing called "charter holidays" back in the 70s - falling in love with Bonney M live shows down in Benidorm during the days when shoes and pants, shirts and jackets were outrageous compared to pretty much everything in human history) This is vibing so hard with Aurora's humour, which is hard for reactors to pick up on. Her songs are deep and sad, serious and often brutally beautiful. But as a person, she is truly exceptionally funny (in her Scandinavian/British understated and deadpan way). That smile at the end is precious - saying to me: "You did not really think I would lull this silly song into some Aurora existential seriousness, now did you? - Gotcha" Thanks for the giggles on this Friday M&G.
What an absolutely beautiful cover. Then again I think everything Aurora does is absolutely beautiful she really sings to your soul. Thanks again to both of you for creating such awesome content. You know I’m a huge fan of yours 💯. Sending you both much love & blessings all the way from Australia 🇦🇺 love ♥️🌹🙏🏼 you guys.
Everything she touch turns to gold!Even if we talk for a world class disco pop song or about an out of this world mid tempo song by david bowie ...Every little thing she does is magic!
Was a great reaction. 😁 It's amazing how only the musical part of a song has to be changed, that it conveys a completely different mood, even though the lyrics are the same. Aurora did a great job again. Aurora has now talked more about the upcoming album, which will be more cheerful. But it is rather interesting that she has already talked about the following album. In it, she will then deal more intensively with death. Is one of the topics that has occupied her since her youngest years.
Loved this one from the very first moment I have heard it... Aurora is a bit like King Midas... as far as covers are concerned, everything she touches (musically), turns to gold.
I think you guys would love to watch her cover "Scarborough Fair". She did when she came to Brazil and it was amazing! Also, i would LOVE to see you guys react to "AURORA - The Seed [NatGeo Earth Day Eve 2021]" or "AURORA HAIK Full Version".
Unexpected but great. i wonder if there was limited time for cover (I know that previous one in P3 was made in a short time. Someone confirmed such thing in previous comments. Where she said about 15 minutes?
Have you heard Auroras cover of Leonard Cohen Famus Blue Raincoat? As canadian you have to check it up. It’s here on RUclips from a concert in honor of him … think it’s NRK .
In this context I'd like to also recommend Kari Bremnes' cover of the same song (sung in Norwegian) with the title "Gikk du noen gang fri?" (only available as audio, though).
Here you are The Dyamic Duo always good to see ya and yes I used to go to the Sauna with my associates on Fridays and there was BonniM singin Rasputin and we watched the vid as we sipped our scotch and then back to the oven and sweat out.....staying healthy kindof And this Aurora version is lovely, kinda Folkish.....and check her princess dress, and with white sportshoes! she's so freaking cute. Well Rasputin was a hell of a character, and the Romanoffs had a very tragic and sad end, and the Zarine, she definitely was having a rotten time and they planted on her being the Weird Monk's lover like the cherry i the pie Aurora is even lighter than the real thing that is cool no need for downers chau chicos!
I don't know if this is as appearant for non-scandis, but the vocalization part reminds me of the bandit song from the Ronja Rövardotter film from 1984.
There was some instant deja vu here, some similaritous with her majesty Dolly Parton herself in some parts from her most famous song Jolene. Not complaining though:) So it is a hidden double cover :)
Try not to cry challenge? 🥲🙂 The Avett Brothers - Ballad of Love and Hate (live) Tool - Wings for Marie pt.1 & pt.2 Concrete Blonde - Tomorrow, Wendy Band of Horses - No one’s gonna love you Iron & Wine - The Trapeze Swinger Chris Cornel - Nothing Compares to you Bright Eyes - First Day of My Life This Mortal Coil - Song to the Siren
Please react to more fado!!! Ana moura with vinte vinte, Carminho with uma vida noutra vida in Germany, Noidz ft Kátia guerreiro com estranha forma de vida ( this one os a mix very well done of methal and fado) and Mariza with ó gente da minha terra live in Lisbon...please...!!!🙏🙏🙏
Listen to Beste Zangers 2021 Anneke van Giersbergen "Sobreviviré". She translated it into english or listen to Karsu "Hije de la luna". You will love both these songs.
She made a folk song out of it. Its effing great. That smile she had at the end... just have to love Aurora.
Love her cover of it, she makes everything magical.
My late mother loved this song, it always reminds me of her and Aurora does it justice.
Such a fun cover. Love the folky vibe and the Pentangle like air to it. The harmonies are spot on as always.

We’ve done Sigrid’s new song, but it’s being held up in copyright. Hopefully it will be released soon - G
@@MikeandGinger fingers crossed! I don’t know for how long songs are usually in RUclips jail/limbo. Hopefully it’ll be released before long.

Maybe because we’ve had a bunch of kids, it’s easier for us to see the playfulness in her. She’s like a sprite. - G
she really is extraordinary
Aurora's folky style is delicious. Soooothing and fun!! Great reaction as always you two!!
So interesting and cool how she brought out the folk elements in a song that I never thought of as folk!
👏🇳🇴👏 I think this is the playfull Aurora we see here.... And I love it!
I love, love, love it😍😍😍 this is so good
What to expect? A beautiful folky version from Aurora. Yesss.

Totally loved that cover. Finally heard all the lyrics. More Birkenstock than platform boots.
There are more - violent - verses though...
The dress and the way she sings this song honestly gave off Dolly Parton vibes. And I don’t know why I love it though
Loved this one from the very first moment I have heard it... Aurora is a bit like King Midas... as far as covers are concerned, everything she touches (musically), turns to gold.
Love Mike reaction 👍💯🙏🙏❤️
I keep wanting to sing Dolly Parton's Jolene to the chorus of this version.
Jolene, jolene, jolene, Joleeeeeene!☆
Loved the folk tune feel to it. Reminded me a bit of Dolly Parton =)

love it ❤️❤️❤️
Aurora Warrior at Paste is a great one too
To me, her rendition had Loreena McKennitt vibes with the ballad quality. As always, she rocked the cover that P3 gave her. :D

Nice hair decoration G!
The guitar probably reminds you of the music composed by Morricone for the spaghetti westerns staring Clint Eastwood
The Boney M song Rasputin is my favorit "disco" song from the 70's...... love that song so this will be fun
not sure how I feel about that cover
Definitely took the cheesy side of the song out of it. Just beautiful.
Everything Aurora does is perfect
This is «storytelling» Aurora. Just like her version of Into the Unknown
I don't know if this is as appearant for non-scandis, but the vocalization part reminds me of the bandit song from the Ronja Rövardotter film from 1984.
This song was good in the day but the radio stations played the grooves off the record and ended up hating it. Don’t mind this version though ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺
Thanks
Jolene vibes … great cover
