Two Wheel Tuesday 2024 - It’s Started

- It seems to have rained for ever, the ground is soaked and soft. The forecast was heavy rain and the nights still draw in. But the clocks have changed and men have been busy prepping their machines. Sick of tinkering and desperate to get out. At last, the first Two Wheel Tuesday was here. I wasn’t expecting a big turn out. Maybe twenty or so. All the gang were there, Banana Man, TC, Indian John and even Andy from Adventurers of Gloria. Lots of other familiar faces were there two. People greeted each other like long lost adventurers, some seeing each other for the first time since last October. A great opening meet.

You are very kind 😁 thank you V 😁
Blimey; that bloke with the blue bike, can rabbit on 😂🤦🏻
Maybe that Douglas was a Douglas Rambler as in Ramble on😁😆😂🤣.
I know a few people I would like to be able to "fast forward" in real life!😅
I guess to some it's rambling but to others it's passion.
Very enthusiastic about the Douglas, fair play to him. Just sharing his knowledge.
He could 😁 he has a load of bikes of all ages 😁 very knowledgeable 😁 but boy can he talk 😂😂 I am going to put a link to the whole conversation in Fridays mutter 😁 thanks SBk 😁
So nice seeing all those all weather riders. No bling bling. Feels like family on those meetings, thanks Taym, loved all those bices
Thanks BS 😁 yes, just like one big family 😁
That Douglas looked amazing, loved the look of the exhausts.
That 350 was a 3thrifty at 80-90miles per gallon.
Yes, reminded me of super hero type stuff 😂😂 thanks Jim 😁
Look at that bike ,it's wonderful
😂😂😂 thanks Neil 😁
Great bike meet thanks TAYM. Bike of the night? Jesus wants me to say the Sunbeam.😊

This was totally unbelievable 👏 finding that Douglas and listening to it's owner tell that wonderful story was fantastic.
You were so lucky to have meet that wonderful guy who owned the Douglas, he was a natural old school biker. I could have listened to him all day.
There was nothing he didn't know about motorcycles, you were so lucky to bump into him.
Well done Tyam, some cracking bikes seen here.
Brilliant, Marvellous,Fantastic 😊
Thanks Mike 😁 yes, thinking of putting the whole conversation up as a link in the next mutter 😁 he has loads of bikes 😁
@TAYM yes l realised you fast forward because you'd a lot to get in and you done well 👍 but that guy is worth 20 minutes, he's motorcycle goggle a very interesting character indeed.

Bike of the Night was The Nimbus a Danish motorcycle produced from 1919 to 1960 by Fisker and Nielsen of Copenhagen, Denmark, also manufacturers of "Nilfisk" brand ...
Interesting 🤔 I had no idea 😁 thanks Mike 😁
You are spoiled for bike nights TAYM I don't think any of ours have started yet but I can't wait. Great to see such a good turn out for the first one in not the best weather you must be a hardy bunch down there lol

Hay man.. Don't you dare put down the Fazer, mine is 26 years old now and it was featured in MCN couple weeks ago... Its pretty much a classic... Like I said after looking at the new Royal Enfields, it woulkd be like riding a moped after riding my Fazer for nearly 6 years.. "When I was a kid" would have loved an old brit bike,, now that life has almost gone for me, I am 60 now, my Fazer does everything I could want a bike to do.. cheers for the walk around, may see you at a show... OH you do like fazers.. ok.. cheers from Greg-with-The-Fazer
😂😂😂 love the fazers 😁 almost bought one last autumn 😁 thanks Greg😁
I love the Nimbus. They use a Austin A7 motor if I remember right so 4 cylinder with super long 1st gear. They sound awesome & made of Swedish Steel world's best so last forever almost. You can also get all the parts for them too from Business in Belgium & you can see the pushrods going up & down the are a awesome bike.
That Norton SS with Dominator style frame is what you stick a V-twin in they fit 1000-1200cc.Originally you'd stick a Vincent V-twin in then called a Norvin or a Harley Davidson Knucklehead called a Knucton Indian with Vincent Vindian but I reckon these days use a Sportster 1200 in a Reproduction Norton Dominator frame & call it a Norster or if use a Evo call it a Norvo.A upright V-twin,nice.
Lovely bikes those Nimbus only 2 litres of oil in that huge sump ...but that's what kept the oil cool ...
@@willyrackham2957 Great to own one & 4cylinder too in line like a car.
Yes, lovely to see😁 thanks RR 😁
@@TAYM Did you get my video?
My bike pick of the bikenight is The Mash.. You know why 🤣🤣 .. Peppy comfy small bikes.
😂😂😂 thought you’d like that 😁 thanks Stefan 😁
Nice our bike nights are soon to start in may here in the Irish hills of Michigan. Ride safe. Love the classic.
Thanks JC 😁
Gosh what a well attended first Two Wheel Tuesday with lots of lovely bikes old and new. The Douglas owner was obviously very passionate about his bikes, I'll bet he doesn't often get to ramble on about them 😊 I reckon Indian John will know a thing or two about rain dances, he wouldn't want that sparkler of his to get wet and wanted to get home before the downpour.
I had a brief chat with an old guy at the office ( operating theatre) the other day, he was having a procedure under local anaesthetic and telling me about his old classic bikes ( four of them). Now he said they were ( what sounded like American or Merican), I said I'd never heard of them and he said not many people have. I tried researching and could only find Merkel but those seem to predate his 1920's - 1930's machines. I wish I'd asked him to spell it, has anyone got any idea what bikes he was talking about? 🤔😊
Thanks GW 😁 someone most know 🤔
Nice to see all those bikes, brought back some nice memories. 👍 Back in the day I had an RD 250 (last of the air-cooled models) and an SR 500, amongst others. That Ariel Arrow 200 was introduced to capitalise on the lower insurance catagory; it also used up some of the unsold Arrow 250 parts.
Thanks Chris 😁 interesting about the Arrow 😁
Love it! Brilliant! - CJ
Thanks CJ 😁
Morning TAYM, what a cracking first bike meet!
A lot of bikes there with memory links, I had an SR500 in blue with silver tank inlays,in the 80's, ..my nieces husband owns a Sunbeam in that same green, and when I was an apprentice painter, an old chap that was about to retire owned a Douglas! I remember him telling me the skinny tyres were a nightmare when you crossed the tram lines in the streets back in the day! 😆
Glad my dance video finally got through,😅 Cheers Mel 🍻
Thanks Mel 😁 brilliant 😁
Some grand bike you've show us tonight. Thanks TAYM. My grandson is staying over for the School holidays so maybe I'll make the next one ( Weather permitting GGGRRRRR!)
Excellent 😁 let’s hope the weather holds 😁 thanks B 😁 maybe see you there 😁
Morning Mr TAYM. Back to business as usual, must be a sign Spring has Sprung 🥳. Yes, have to be wary coming off damp grass onto tarmac, I have seen the results of riders not heading this warning, and it isn’t pretty. Cheers
Thanks Ian 😁
Sooooo many amazing bikes!, 🤤
Thanks TR 😁 yes, a great night 😁
Great 👍
Thanks Sandy 😁
I thought Nimbus was a broomstick in Harry Potter 😀😀😀
😂😂😂😂😂 brilliant 😁 thanks AD 😁
Honda 500 / 4 would be my pick
Yes, very nice and the right colour for me 😁 thanks PPP 😁
Yahoo
😂😂😂😂 marvellous 😁
Morning Taym 😊what an evening you had well bike of the night was going to be the Norton Mercury, but I got it wrong according to the chap that with the Douglas I thought it was a 600 Dominator so the Yellow SR wins it for me because I aways wanted one when they first came out 😊 best go over and watch Foxy now and the other two Stooges. Ta Ta 😊
Thanks AR 😂😂😂
"I wonder if Freddie Dobbs knows about them?". Of course he does. He's bound to have rented one in East Timor for 58p a day, wearing casual beach shoes and some handmade £90 flannel slacks.😂
😂😂😂😁 bet he couldn’t start it 😂😂😂 thanks Trev 😁
