Original mayonnaise
70ml aquafaba
1 tsp mustard
1/2 tsp garlic power
1tsp of lemon juice or generous squeeze
salt to taste
pepper to taste
240ml sunflower oil
Adaptations:
For Chilli Mayonnaise use 240ml of olive oil with chilli, or use 120ml sunflower oil and 120ml chilli oil. You can also add fresh puree chilli (as much as you can handle) or Sriracha again to taste as it's quite strong.
For Garlic Mayonnaise either: use 240ml garlic olive oil or use sunflower oil and simply add 1 1/2tsp of garlic power / half a bulb of roasted garlic.
For Soy recipe:
Instead of Aquafaba use 60ml soy milk and 1tsp white wine vinegar (the rest of the recipe is the same).

Thanks for watching guys! The Mayonnaise should last about 3 days in the fridge. This is quite a small recipe as it doesn't last super long - just double it if you need loads for something!
im not vegan & i dont even like mayonaise but here i am enjoying learning something new! thank you :) xx
If you don't mind the taste, I would recommend to use rapeseed oil instead of sunflower oil whenever possible. It has a much better omega3to6 ratio (I have to check, I think it's 1:311 in sunflower an 1:6 in rapeseed), which means it's healthier, especially for vegans because we don't eat fish. The taste is nearly neutral and the price is similar to sun flower oil.
Edit: looked it up in Niko Rittenau's book, it's 1:2 in rapeseed oil. If you understand German, I highly recommend the book to learn how to eat plant based while staying healthy. He also has a RUclips channel.
I love this! I have been looking for a good tutorial on how to make plant based mayo. I have used your tortilla recipe many many times. Keep doing recipe videos please!
Not even vegan and can't eat full fat mayo (weight loss) but would still try this lol you and Madeline Olivia make these things so normal and acessible that I was able to reduce my meat intake finally, thank you ❤️
Easy and simple. Love it!
SO glad I came upon your ideas and recipes! Absolutely fabulous! Thank you.
New subscriber! Your video is so clean and crisp, and your voice is very soothing! I’m so excited about trying this!
omg! this is amaaaazing!🤩
i always wanted to make vegan mayo from scratch!💪🏻
thank you!!!!!💛💛
Oh my god, I never knew how easy it is to make this, this is fantastic!
I just made the almond butter & just finished making the almond milk now, I can't wait to make this.
That’s amazing 😍thanks for sharing this! X
Thank you for helping me make vegan choices.
I love mayonnaise and didn't know about this recipe, very nice.
Exactly what I needed!!!
Omg I had no idea it was so easy! Thank you! :)
This may sound weird but I never thought you could make mayo yourself! So excited to try this!!
I've heard that if you want it less greasy/oily you can put less oil and add greek yogurt or low fat yogurt. Unfortunately I never tried, but my favourite mayo that I buy at the supermarket has yogurt in it as is so delicate and good.
I nearly bought vegan mayo this week (but came in plastic so I resisted) and now I have a recipe to use! Thanks!
OMG, Immy it's looks so easy 😱 I definitely will try! My chickpeas are soaking right now 😋
I am so happy that you made this bc i love to make vegan tuna salad and i use alot of mayo so thank you
What do you replace the tuna with?
@@sophiek3292 mashed chick peas
Wonderful...
Garlic POWER! love it :) xx
Yummy! How long would these last in the fridge?
Thank you 😋
I once I used rapeseed oil and couldn't believe how the flavour of mayo reminded me of McDonald's burgers. I think it's probably because the mayo they use contains rapeseed oil. It was very good!
Thank you so much for this recipe!! What would you advise for me to use as a replacement for the oil?
Ooo, I might have to try this out because soya milk is a faff to make but aquafaba isn't :)
I had no idea where to start with making Vegan mayo. Thanks this was so helpful!!! Also how long can it be kept in the fridge?
Brb making this 😍😍
No way I way just wanting to buy some vegan mayo! Now I can try my own :)
Can do
I was *just* telling my mum that I wanted to start making my own mayonnaise! Timing!
I can by
Ok that's tpp
There is an even more simple recipe eben without a mixer (hand made): just mustard, sunflower oil, salt and pepper
Thank YOU for making a soy free receipe
I remember trying a vegan mayo a couple of years ago (I think it was mayola?) and it was so vile that it completely put me off mayo full stop - which I guess is a benefit haha! But this looks really nice so I think I'll give it a try :)
Have you experimented with an oil-free (and "overt fats"-free) version?
Based!
immy, is this okay to freeze if we make bigger batches?
Hi, are you able to make vegan salad cream because I prefer that over mayo.
How do you make aquafaba from scratch? Is it just what you use to soak your dried chickpeas?
Is there a may to make vegan mayo without mustard? Or it that essential for classis mayo taste?
Would almond milk work for this? What kind of benefits does the aquafaba have? I’m so interested in trying this!!!
I don't know the science behind why, but aquafaba is used in a lot of vegan recipes to fluff/stiffen things, like the mayo, and for whipped cream and meringue as when you beat it it behaves like egg whites, thickening and stiffening. Almond milk doesn't whip on its own as far as I know so I don't think that would work!
Delicioso!
I wonder if this also works with an electric whisking device (if you know what I mean :D) instead of a blender..?
YEAP just takes a bit longer and needs some coordination while you're putting in the oil :)
Unrelated, but how long does the recipe for the hazelnut, almond, and peanut butter last for in the fridge?
Around 3 days
How long before it expires?
Do you think I could use a stand mixer instead of a blender? I’m lazy and it’s easier to clean the bowl and whisk from my mixer than my heavy 20 yr old glass blender lol
How long does the mayo last?
3 days roughly x
What is aquafaba?
I don't see the recipe measurements in the description!
Definitely there!
You said tsb does that mean teaspoon or tablespoon?
Megan Stitt Tablespoon. Teaspoon would be tsp. Hope this helps 😁
@@meganstitt2617 just changed it to tsp sorry! definitely not Tablespoon xx
@@jennifershay8980 tbsp is tablespoon but she has confirmed it was a typo :)
Am I the only one that can't open the description?
my mayo goes bad very quick, just like my oat milk :( what do i do?
Mayo goes bad very quickly anyways; it is its nature! (Unless you buy store bought ones which will have preservatives already) Not sure about oat milk but presume its the same as above!
Weird Irish Girl uh thank you! i don’t want to buy them packaged, but i feel so sorry that i’m waisting product when they go bad. i’ll try to make less then!
@@fatma_tag try to make it differently if possible. I know plant milks last up to 5 days
@@jessicamm but why would it? no attack, just curious! does it act like a preservative?
Weird Irish Girl I wonder if you can try freezing it and then taking it out and letting it thaw when you need it?
