I love seeing the birds of prey get a little snack. So hard to see their full beauty when they're flying high above. The farms here will often have a flock flying overhead when it comes to planting season and the earth is turned over making the rodents scamper across an empty field.
If it was made of metal and reset itself for more catches that would be great kitchen trap. I would happily buy a dozen. Such a beautiful hawk showing up to eat was pretty awesome.
Another great video! Thanks for these! One of these days, I'd like to see you challenge Ben Heck (RUclipsr) to design and 3-D print a better mouse trap...
I like the simplicity of the design but not the chewable material. Maybe if they made a metal one that would be better. Probably be more expensive though.
I had one of these - worked three times before the prisoner chewed it so much that it no longer triggered properly. That was a little bit helpful, because it inspired me to cut a floor liner for a different cage trap with a wooden base
To be honest I’m quite partial to the double gate live trap (I’ve noticed with snap traps that after a while of use the trap itself gives off a feint smell of death thus making it useless, excuse my words it’s the best way to explain it) bait wise I find a mix of bird seed and dried fruit mix gives me the best results (peanut butter doesn’t seem to work anymore since it was used constantly) however everyone’s methods are different so I don’t judge 👍
So if it were made of metal (or at least the internal chamber lined with metal) and deeper, it might have been more successful. Albeit more expensive, which might have ruined it. But I like how compact it is, and sanitary, for a live catch trap.
I’ve always preferred the live traps over the ones that kill. Especially when you have kill traps that do so in and guess what I would consider are inhumane manners. Like for instance, some of those old fashion ones that do things like stick them with spikes or down something kind of like a breaker bar but it has teeth on it.
The button on top is another failure point since a mouse climbing on top could easily trigger it accidentally. I'm also not sure if it's a good idea to feed a mouse with a stomach full of chewed plastic to wild animals. =/
That's another suffocating trap with no ventilation. Ventilation is needed in opposite sides or corners so the trapped mouse's movement causes air movement in and out. The lack brings the question of why the manufacturers don't provide it.
@@cuivre2004 . Agreed. And steel inserts greatly increase the production/sales cost. So that's reason for a steel case with corresponding higher purchase price, but humane performance and longer trap life. Or is chew-proof plastic next?
Many people would forget that mice have cast iron teeth and a single-minded determination in using them. A multiple catch trap of galvanised steel is largely fool-proof and lasts a long time if kept clean and dry between uses. Frankly, one mouse at a time per night with the test trap is of limited practical value and a set of ten would be expensive.
I was a oittle horrified to see that mouse react fast enough to escape that trap.Does anyone know what that mouse's reaction time must have been to avoid capture?
What is the point of spending lots of money for a trap that only works on one mouse at a time? Buy a pack of snap traps, and you would still be money ahead!
Yeah, plastic kill traps do the job, but plastic live catch? Not so much, I'd rather have metal mesh or wood lined with a metal mesh. Then they won't destroy what you made.

I like how he casually says he's going to feed the mouse to wild animals
You new around here?
Yes
The wild animals must love him.
I mean, why wouldn't you be casual about it? Animals eat other animals. That's just nature at work.
"Ooo! It pooped a bunch in there! Gross!"
Apparently plastic live catch traps should be avoided. That's the big takeaway here.
It’s the Amber Turd mouse! 🐭
@@mtkoslowski bruh 😂
You would think Shawn's pet mice would be like "Oh, you are not pulling this on me again!" Yet they always fall for it.
Stunt mice!
They know if they wanna get paid, it’s part of the job 😺
They know this and always leave him a reward, it's a running joke between him and the mouse

Food is food, smell it, go for it.

I love how you put the mice to good use!
I think Shawn's pet mice think he had a mouse litterbox review channel.
mouse was already shitting itself because it knew what was going to happen
LMFAO
"I need danger pay and tail insurance..."
The hawk says, "Tasty! Fresh house mouse with just a hint of Swiss plastic."
I like the new format where you put the trail cam footage at the end.
BEST PART is Feeding the Catch to Wildlife.
If it was made of metal and reset itself for more catches that would be great kitchen trap. I would happily buy a dozen. Such a beautiful hawk showing up to eat was pretty awesome.
That hawk's really benefiting fro you. ♥
He was actually pooping on his way into the mouse-outhaus... 😂😂😂😂
I saw that, the dirt little devil. The little brute would have been dribbling urine, as well.
That mouse sure has its bowels on the move seeing it poop before moving on through the trap.
One bite and gone! Nice of you to feed the wildlife, keep up the good work.
That trap scared the crap out of the pet mouse!
👍👍
When I saw Shaun didn't anchor the trap, I totally thought that huge rat was going to drag it away to add to his growing collection.
"... and this one's worth $2000... it's a collector's item... . Now over here..."
@@-danR ....No that was a good one❗️ very good, classic‼️®™️
2:58 bro that hawk/eagle gobbled that mouse down in one swallow
That hawk seems to like "mouse take out"! 😁😁😁

I knew right away... uh-oh... plastic...
The trap might be great for a single unwanted mouse house guest, if you don't like setting snap traps.
Why does Shawn's pet mice poop all over his traps? I think its their way of getting back at him .
You may be correct because Amber Heard pooped on Johnny Depps bed to get back at him.🤔
Mice have a tendency to poop and urinate very frequently. Plus, these pet mice are well fed and have plenty to poop out.
Outstanding work, once again.
what will happens of mouse jump on the top of the trap as they usually do ?
How about a video on catching mosquitoes?
You could dump you catch inside a floating loop and film the fish eating them.
Shawn, cut a tree stump 2 foot tall and put the mice on that. Better camera angles. And the birds feel safer.
Beautiful hawk appreciated the snack.
🐭"Here's what I think of your mousetrap" *frrrrrt*
shawn's pet/stunt mice must think he just provides them with exotic new bathrooms to use 😂
The hawk eats mice like Japanese eat sushi : all in one bite for a perfect harmony of flavors!
Hawks even have their own chopsticks too (their beaks!)
Please do a some more videos of the primitive traps working..
I Love that Hawk WAY Sooo COOL
Wow, how fortunate to feed an eagle this time.
Hawk
Thank you for another great video, that is both educational and entertaining!

I think you may be accidentally domesticating that Redtail lol
Mr Hawk Returns in Shawn video's
Amazing!!. I love it
Thanks for another great show, Shawn. Your tame, fancy mice are beautiful. Is that one growing thumbs? I'm worried.
Free jargon for the bean counters.
Have a great week!

Good work Crawdaddy.
Really like watching your videos. Do you have one on how to get rid of Shrews?

Good grief....
"Perfect, the mouse took a poop and the trap closed."
2:59 i love hawks 🦅 eats mice! 🐭
Red Tail Hawk

They don't want holes for them to get their teeth leveraged into.

this eagle was like:
finally some good fking food
Do you ever test any gnat/fruit fly traps? I’m having trouble with them in my home, but there’s so many different kinds
Nice video sharing big thumb up
love it!!
I want to know how many shots you have to take to get your mice to go into traps like they do?
I think they poop more in traps because they got scared. 🤔
great video👍
"Inniu do luch trap* Luan". Maith thú Seán. Great to see the hawk get a meal.
*I don't know the Irish word for trap.
whiskey
Do you suppose that maybe they poop when they're surprised by the trap closing?
Looks like mice are having a revenge: They think it offers good privacy for a bowel movement?

I am shure the hawk has told his frends about showns vending eara for snacks
Any recommendations on how to catch silverfish? 🤔
That’s so sweet
I'm just confused on how I got here.. and yet watch this the entire way thru.
Mouse: i got trapped help me
Mouse friends: F**K this sh*t am outta here😂😂
I was a oittle horrified to see that mouse react fast enough to escape that trap.Does anyone know what that mouse's reaction time must have been to avoid capture?
“Ima feed it to wild animals”
Pet Mouse sure bundied *that* trap...
It looks like there isn't that much air flow.
Cool trap
💯
Love your videos, how about a video one rodent foam.
Mouse trap funday
your mice seem to be afraid of entering the traps, maybe that's why they're always pooping.
أتمنى لك يوما سعيدا
It was so scary the mice shat him self
And that's why we don't use poison.
Bootie fresh Bootie Bootie fresh
We all saw that mouse pooping in slow motion...
That was a serious prairie dog
mice that want to go to heaven smile and say *CHEESE US!*

0:50 😂😂😂😂
Nom...
Here in the Philippines mices are bigger than that

I think it's safe to say that your pet mice are full of crap ... ha ha ha ha.
yep
Unfortunately, this is another reason how micro plastics are getting into wildlife.....mice chew thru plastic, hawk eats mouse.
😆
Wait, at 0:56, is that pet mouse pooping?
Pet mouse: daddy I made you some chocolate chips 😊
Shawn: ew 😫
Your pet mice don’t like being used as guinea pigs. 😱
HAWK
I’m a little concerned about letting your pet eat commercial bait. It could have something in it that would make him sick.
Your poor mouse the trap scared the poop out of it when it trap went off. Your mice are all going to develop psychosis about traps. 😁
They just crap all over
Let it go? O hell naw. I have the ones that fry them.
