I wish you had showed us the battery bank or at least given the specs of the solar system, batteries, inverter, etc. I'm sure you have a lot of tech nerds in your audience that would appreciate those details. That said, this is an awesome boat and a great tour, as always!
The website says it's a 10 kWp solar array so that means in perfect conditions you get 10 kW/h. He said it takes 2 hours to charge the batteries in the video. The max speed is 20 knots with a cruising speed of 6-8 knots.
No crew = privacy. No refueling = big save in cost. No engine breakdown and service. Silent Yachts 60 (front exit version) is my dream boat !!! Love from Norway !!! :-D
This is one of my favorite yacht brands, I like how efficient they have made them by now. I heared in another interview, he was asked how often he had turned the generator on, an he never had ;) I would rather have this, than a large yacht. Low draft and plenty of space.
I love how you guys show a wide range of homes and vessels. It is always a treat to see the super luxury homes and boats but it is also nice to see scaled down ones too. Oh and it’s nice to see the more relaxed version of Enes too!
I wish you guys toured cold-weather properties more often! The few you did were spectacular and since winter is near, does it mean we can expect more tours of ski cabins, lodges and retreats⛷🏂
Ah, touring an all electric yacht, very cool. Seeing the amenities and features, also very cool. Touring the cabins and decks, again awesome. Not touring and showing us the engine rooms / battery systems, etc? NOT COOL Enes and Mikey! 😁
There are no engines, except the moster for worst case backup. The motors are tiny and hidden under the beds. Batteries are stored across the main deck floor. Lost of other videos cover this in detail.
We need a tour of the SILENT 80!!! I struggle to see any coverage at all out at sea of that gorgeous yacht on any channel anywhere. Someone tell the CEO!
Love the material on your channel but would love to see more log homes/mansions big cabins 😃. The part of the yacht that leads to the cabins is called the Salon and the rear is the stern. Great viewing as always and great to see the diversity in what you guy's are touring 👋.
I put a 10 or 15 minute interview with Michael on RUclips about a year ago at the Miami Boat Show , it did get several thousand views however I just happened to have my phone going so it was nothing formal like this and I'm glad somebody did a formal RUclips presentation on this wonderful boat I wish Mike the best with his vision., this boat is the farthest thing away from vaporware it is well-constructed and Mike is ready to take orders
@@EntropyMusicOfficial Yes. But the thing is, they can get away with that, because in a yacht, range is not very important, since it´s meant to spend more than 90% of the time not moving, so recharching batteries. But if it was a ferry, meant to be constantly moving, it would be impossible to use.
Awesome yatch, 100% electric, good use of space. Innovative design. Bedspace to ceiling height seems tight with small windows. But other than that and the price, its a cool design idea.
It's pretty neat, with enough solar area on it (it could unfold larger than the normal roof) it essentially has infinite range at zero cost. They could have a wind turbine or two that pop up and unfold so it could generate power in wind at night. Could keep on trucking day or night. Starlink sat dish for that gigabit internet far out to sea. Gotta watch those 4k youtube videos.
Thank you! The reason we do not have wind turbines is because they not only through shade on panels during the day, they are also quite noisy when spinning. Furthermore, depending on their positioning, they can be a potential safety hazard as well. This is why we offer a kite sail system instead, if you would like to take advantage of the wind.
@@silentyachts Sure, certainly mechanical systems are much higher repair risk than something static like solar. Maybe 2 manual assembly modest turbines that could lean out from the bow so the blades are not in play. Shafts could maybe telescope out of the hulls, manual click on the blades. Might also be cool if the roof could split in two and reveal a doubling of capacity. The front lip could slide forward and double as sunshield for the foredeck. Sort of a modern day deployment of sails. The entire sides of the hulls could perhaps also be solar. Laid in a dark color, it might be quite aesthetically pleasing and a real wow factor. If the power intake could be 2.5x higher that would presumably mean a fair bit for the practicality. If the speed goes from 6 to 11. btw I would strongly recommend aggressively pursuing a machine learning autopilot that can safely pilot the ship on its own including spotting debris and divers in the water far more diligently than a human captain. And of course other boats. since water is so relatively uniform this should be more or less trivially within current capability. A few good men. Might even be fiverr level doable. A true autopilot goes very well with slow cruise and again a massive wow factor.
I love these kinds of yachts, but it raises the same questions as for other electric vehicles- how long does the batteries last, and how much does it cost?
Battery tech has come a LONG way in recent years. Lithium iron phosphate batteries can last 15+ years with a well calibrated battery management computer keeping them in an optimal state. Yes Lithium batteries and solar are expensive, but this is a non issue considering you won't have the ongoing expense of diesel fuel. Also, even better battery technologies are coming very soon.
@@dlg5485 dont worries bro. China's battery tech is so advanced that it has been applying electric semi trucks, trains, and vehicles into daily use. Their electric vehicles can drive as far as 500 miles with a short duration of charging (I mean in minutes). And those batteries can last for at least a decade. With the growth of technology nowadays, I am not surprised that humans can come up with a small battery providing millions of miles for vehicles and can last for decades (as Elon Musk stated last year). For the cost, it is not cheap in current market price, but it is hella worth. I'll expect the cost will go down rapidly in the next couple of years when more and more electric companies will be involved the market.
Hey Enes me and my wife love your videos , you and Mikey makes a great team , Mikey knows how to spice things up at times 😀🤣 you guys are cool, keep up the good work
Hi guys well as always esnes and Mikey looking good on this electric yacht this is way forward for the future. As a part from. The use of solar panels. That seems to relax your tension with out using gaslean and it would that be like Mikey pick up about was smaller trips. Islands or just use on company for touring. PS liked your dress down enes hope are still using dal and others of team but would love to see more yauts but love to see winter you having fun second channel. Too x👍😍

There is a channel called kara and nate who have been on this boat and if I remember the vid they did on it cover specs etc

Agreed.
Chech the nautilus channel for more detailed tour

This is exactly what I want from a Yacht, no crew needed, simple and neat rooms. And it's 100% Electric with solar panels!

Question: What is the range on this thing?
Answer: The utilities are really easy on the battery and it goes really fast.
thats how you already know the range is bad xD
