@smamas114 no, actually.. I drained the auto transmission fluid and replaced it with Redline ATF along with a new fluid filter, then performed a very thorough, proper transmission adaptation which fixed the issue. The transmission did not have the right shift adaptation values with each gear, which is what was causing the RPM fluctuation..

Let me know if you have more questions.. make sure to carefully follow the correct procedure to re-train the auto transmission to re-adapt correct shift values for each gear.. audi b7 a4 auto transmission requires a lengthy process that needs to be followed without skipping any steps, otherwise the issue will persist. It took me more than 30 minutes of driving in different gears in the correct order and duration in each specified gear, including braking and sustained reverse driving, to correctly adapt proper shift values.. I had to find a very straight road that was not busy with traffic for a long distance to ensure I had enough runway to do all the steps in succession.. my 2 bmw's are either 6 speed manual gearbox or DCT, so this issue doesn't occur on them.. not sure what bmw auto transmission re-adaptation process is.. but I imagine it will be similar to audi's procedure.

Bad torque converter I'm betting. My 2006 Audi A4 Avant 2.0T FSI Quattro is doing the same damn thing.
I have a bmw e60 that is doing this and i was thinking it could be the torque converter , did you repaired the converter ??
