alright so going off of observations, the only reason why the crowds may seem so much more calmer than the JP concert is for two reasons: 1. The audience's cheering was silenced during the songs so the songs' audio would be better to hear 2. The audience is seated in a theater-type of room, and when I mean seated I mean they are LITERALLY sitting in seats. This sets a bigger difference from the JP concert where people stood and were free to dance and move around. All the audience could really do here is wave their glowsticks. Like this shit to get it up there so people will stop criticizing the audience.
Just look at the quality here. Japanese was cheap recorded with some microphones in the hall, while the European is definitely recorded from the soundboards. Obviously there were no microphones in the audience. And when we consider that, i must say, that the Japanese audience wasn't hyped at all. They didn't even seem to care when they left the stage early. You could hear the shouts from the presentation stand next to Nintendo's. There were no cheers at all from the Splatoon stand in Japan. They just stood there motionless. And the sound quality and recording was just awful, terrible bad. Only thing that made them look more active, was that they were standing instead of sitting. And that the European seemed to took place in some provincial idiot town, were people have never seen a camera before.
@@GahoneArt I think the reason why Japanese concerts always have mics throughout the concert hall is so they don't need to separately record from a recording studio when they are already there (and maybe because the echo in the hall might make the sound quality sound more live when they would release a DVD/Blu-ray)

why are people freaking out about the crowd? we're getting a crystal clear direct feed of the instrument and vocal audio, not stage mics that are picking up all sounds from the room. this is way better.
+Torrie Starfrost you miss my point though. the crowd audio is mixed out for the most part. during most of the show the audio you hear is straight from the sound desk. you can clearly hear the difference when they switch to the room mics. so, as far as we know, the crowd could be cheering loudly, it's just all the stage audio is being prioritised. it's really easy to hear the difference.
Kafka Crow i see it as the part in now or never where the supposed to yell "yeah!" it was quiet in the crowd and that was disapointing but the crowd in the japanese one did a better job overall (espacially with the glow sticks)
+Armando Jr. Soriano again, the audio you're hearing during the aonga is a feed from the sound desk that captures everything on stage only. you're not listening to audio from a room mic that would record the crowd as well, it's sometimes switched to that between songs but during the songs it's not - that's just the decision that was made. also, why complain about the glow sticks? this is a European crowd, glow sticks at pop concerts is a very japanese (and East asian) thing. you'd really only see glow sticks at rave parties in Europe. I know it seems like I'm going out of my way to have a go at everyone, it's just annoying to see so many people complain about this concert and be flat out wrong for their reasons.
The glowsticks were given by the staff and were only green ones.. But hey, better than nothing! If it wasn't for the free ones, there would've been only the guy with the pink one!
To the people who are insulting the crowd, just note that swiss crowd is always like this. There is a good atmosphere during concerts, but we listen respectfully the artists on stage. For being at this show, I can say the atmosphere was really eelectric. The crowd seems "dead" but it was there and there was energy. It's just part of the swiss culture
I'm only throwing salt towards the twitch chat because that was plain disrespectful period. It was just 'why is this a thing' and criticising me for trying to provide the translations (lyrics). Honestly the worst fan experience I've had with one of these concerts. I'm sure the atmosphere in the actual theater room was nicer I wish I could've been there.
The way the entrance to this concert was handled was the worst experience for everybody who wanted to see it. Without ANY information or notice, they gave extra blue bracelets to the first people entering the Polymanga convention (even to people not interested!). All the people entering afterwards were not informed about a thing until they stood in the queue and couldn’t enter the concert hall. It was a mess. So many people who actually came to see the concert never made it into the hall - unless they found someone who owned a blue bracelet but wasn’t interested in seeing the splatoon concert. Worst yet, people not interested but still owning a bracelet didn’t know it would be limited and that other people might be desperately looking for a way inside the concert hall. In the end, around 1/8-2/8 of the hall was still empty. And many people were disappointed
Big fucking yikes. I already don't attend polymanga often cuz it's gotten boring over the years and was lucky to get an extra bracelet. Someone else had to fight for one as well especially when they came all the way from another country to attend. I hope they learn from this experience and never do it again.
I can also tell they made the holograms higher quality than the Japanese ones and I liked the music quality in this one, but they didn't capture some good moments from the show. Lmao, and the crowd not knowing how to actually use the light sticks.
People are complaining the crowd is dead and I think I know why. Most watched the 1st concert video, so most of them already've seen it. They just went to see this concert for the experience. Keep this is mind. The crowd isn't dead, they've just seen it before but had the chance to see it live themselves and went. Also, the music is fine! What's with people saying the music sucked? It's high quality along with the footage! Lighten up guys!!! Don't get cooked, stay fresh!! Edit: The crowd being quieter is actually more respectful. If the crowd screams and yells nobody could hear the music. They treat Off The Hook and the Squid Sisters like real people. Like if they screamed and yelled it would mess them up or the background musicians up. So actually it's very kind of them to be quiet.
The sound and footage are very high quality, but the bass in the music is almost completely absent, even in songs where it is very, very important, like Muck Warfare. It certainly makes this concert sound *different* at the least. As for the crowd, they cheer and all that after the songs, but I believe most people are pointing out the apparent lack of energy *during* the songs; the crowd's just being very... tame, formal about it.
Brenden Smith -- Live performance is different from pre-recordings. And I'm not sure what you mean by absent, because I can hear the bass notes pretty clear. It's not the video, it's your set-up.
Cheesy Draws I can agree with you on the crowd. However, the audio sounds really uneven in this concert, especially the nearly absent bass. I couldn't help thinking about how odd the music sounded the whole concert. Japan's band did a perfect job, this band needs to adjust their volume levels quite a bit
If I went to something like this my parents would think I was beyond insane but I don’t care because this looks so cool. Even though the crowd was dead .-.
Maddie Jackson Hi i went to the concert and the crowd be crazy ! I’m from Switzerland everyone love this at the concert ! This is just the microphone ! The crowd in the concert scream a lot !
I like the live version better, lool Also, the audio for the audience in the video was muted more so the music would be more audible. People were screaming, you just can't hear it that well.
I was saddened by the crowd energy at first, but then I payed more attention to the venue. The venue itself isn't a concert arena, but rather a kind of theater. There's no place to stand when it's all chairs, so standing up and jumping around isn't really possible, nor is it appropriate for the venue.
And the view of the characters will be blocked (because the height of the stage is very short. Even when the audience was sitting down, their hands/glowsticks are already blocking their feet. So imagine if they were standing up, then they would've blocked the view until their thighs.)
I think that the crowd is shouting and stuff but they have just muted it to hear the music better. because the crowd can't be completely silent. I'm sorry but you can't just trash talk people in Europe because they were quite >:((

ok, but Callie and Pearl jamming out and dancing while Marie stares slack-jawed at Marina's dj skills is one of the best this about this show. It's always cute to see characters interacting in little ways like that.
Yeesh. Europe really gets the shaft on things like quality projectors and screens for things like this. Compare to the last concert in Japan. You almost couldn't tell there were projectors or a screen, the characters looked like they were moving in from backstage and walking around in more of a 3d environment. Far less just fading characters in and having them in a line. Almost looked like a blending of CG and real life. This concert though? Yeesh. Was that screen cheap plastic sheeting? Because it looked like cheap plastic sheeting.
Jerry Totten oh really despite America getting good Splatfest themes in Splatoon 1 and 2 we get shafted even more Nintendo doesn’t even give us a Concert and America likes Splatoon more then Europe and Japan mostly and they should know how many Americans like Splatoon 1 and 2
Speed DemonPowerage98 Yuuki&Delthea&Beat&Alicefan well yeah, U.S. gets shafted on a lot. Like special editions. Or even just physical copies of some games.
Pinkolol16 sry American bias in that comment but it feels that way to me if I wasn’t that biased this what the popularity would be labeled as Japan>>Us>>>Europe
Here's my critique for this one: Jump/skips in frames. Several times in multiple songs. The audio quality is outstanding, which I love because this time you can't hear the crowd screaming all the time, and it's very nice to hear more of the song and instruments. The worst parts are how Pearls "Hey! Hey! Hey!" in Color Pulse were off by one beat, and oh my god, Now or Never was broken too. The inkling cheers were off, and even at the very end, the best part, the big cheer was off too.
Ok, I couldn't even get past them showing the first band member, the bassist, at 1:34 without laughing a bit. The bassist doing a little wiggle when he plays the four quick notes gets me everytime.
I feel bad for pearl I mean i saw one pink glowstick for pear and and the whole room is full with green glowsticks I mean im a marina fan but its kinda sad omg
In my opinion, this took Tokaigi's already amazing concert and made it near perfect. The models look better and more vibrant, the instrumentation was even more incredible (and I did appreciate how the instrumentalists were given more screen time I mean they deserve some credit too), Marina went insane with the fan service, and I could go on and on but I personally think this is the best Splatoon concert to date. Not just Off the Hook but altogether as I feel it tweaked and refined what the first concert did right to make it better as well as give the fans a little pleasant surprise. And I find it baffling how unenthusiastic the crowd was the entire time but that's not gonna hurt this performance at all. This concert MORE than met my expectations.
Of course the crowds energy proceeds to rise a little bit when Now or never is about start yep most Europeans probably did watch the Takagki Concert still not enough to make the concert worth watching. Even tho I technically just watched it.
Whoever was in charge of the cameras really needs to do their job better. It's hard to focus on what's going on when the shot changes every fer seconds. I really don't care too see the audience as much as was shown, plus they swung their stupid glow sticks right in the camera at the most choreographically important part of Fresh Start. That's absolute shit. And that light from the hologram was sometimes so bright that it obscured the characters themselves. And another thing, I'd rather focus on the idols rather than the band playing the music. I mean, no offense to them, they did a great job, it's just not what I came to see. And what's with the localization team at 21:07? It's not what she said at the Japanese concert. That's _not_ something Marie would say; she's witty and sarcastic, but not cruel.
marie was frustrated in the japanese concert too. she was just a bit more polite in saying it than here. it's a mere joke in this case, it's only a reference
It is. I went back and parsed the original japanese text through translate and a similar line showed up where Marie said something like 'I'll be relieved if I don't have to save you next time?' implying she doesn't want to have to go through the work of tracking down Callie, which isn't much different in this case from what she said here. Trust me I hate cynical Marie as much as the next dude (gender-neutrally used) but if she mentioned near-identical sentences between both versions I'm more inclined to believe the english one is what's really meant.
The crowd isn't yelling because they want to be respectful. They treat them like real people and prefer to hear the music instead of distracting themselves. Jesus christ people.
I agree It wouldn't be as annoying if they moved them over a few inches to where they weren't standing directly where the lines were for most of the concert It's also bothersome that like half the screen is darker than the other half of the screen. It's pretty distracting when they walk past it and you can clearly see the difference. The most noticeable of this was at the end of the last song when they all posed in the center of the screen right on the spot between the dark screen and light screen
People. The reason the crowd is like that is most likely because they watched the show on RUclips already. And if your thinking "if so then why did they go?" They just wanted the chance to see the thing for themselves instead of relying on the internet ok? So stop saying the crowd is dead! It's rude and immature!
Hooray for Marina and Pearl, and for a guest appearance by the (newly reunited after Story Mode) Squid Sisters. The holograms are high quality and the people look like they are having tons of fun.
While everyone's complaining about the crowd, I'm here complaining about the live video editing. One would think that since everything is scripted to the second, they'd know which camera angles to use at what times...

27:46 Pearl, Pearl, Pearl... I'm sorry, but as a member of the dab police, I shall give you a quick ticket, ok, continue
that was not a dab...😑
forced joke
light blue pancake 27:43
oh...never mine
ArtBone MARIE!
Listen, in europe we don't like to scream whenever we feel like it. We just wanna listen to the music, so chill.
Marina's smile at 5:18 was adorable. She looks so shy
Or even just physical copies of some games.
more than japan? that's a load, the game's more popular there than in the west
fitting
Pinkolol16 sry American bias in that comment but it feels that way to me if I wasn’t that biased this what the popularity would be labeled as Japan>>Us>>>Europe
Jerry Totten But in the Japanese concert they had massive spotlights f**king everything up
Shout out to the like. One guy with the pink glowsticks
♡squid sisters!!!!♡ favorite song: spyk calamari inklation
1:30 did she just said 'hello'!?
Yes
At 14:40 I got the chills after Marianas Lil high note
10% Audio
2% Love for this
99% of how shitty the crowd was
5% Marina's hair
Your math is a bit off.
Lumify | Gil oof ur right
100% Inability to count
Fun Dipper so true
26:39 I love Marina's "YAASSS"
It was 5 am here, and without thinking I just sung out LALALALALALALA with the squid sisters and off the hook, waking up my whole house
when i watched it i sung along i might as well have woken up the whole street
Bro same here. Not my whole family. But the most important member of my family. My dog
1:20 :Color Pulse
5:24 :Acid Hues
8:41 :Muck Warfare
12:27 :Ebb and Flow
16:07 :Fresh Start
21:20 :Spicy Calamari Inkantation
27:13 :Now or Never!
No America
Well America do have the better Splatfests
prob e3 ngl
Cyrus no Japan has the best splatfest themes.
In an English speaking country
Cyrus I was Talking about Japan not the Us
Ok, I couldn't even get past them showing the first band member, the bassist, at 1:34 without laughing a bit. The bassist doing a little wiggle when he plays the four quick notes gets me everytime.
the audio is off sync from their lips by the end and it bothers me :/
I feel bad for pearl
I mean i saw one pink glowstick for pear and and the whole room is full with green glowsticks
I mean im a marina fan but its kinda sad omg
I hope in the next concert will sing remixed mashuped songs like bomb rush blush and tide goes out
Musician: “So, what’s our gig?”
Nintendo: “You’re playing the guitar for a bunch of fake squid girls and an octopus DJ”
Musician: “•-•” “Oh”
This concert MORE than met my expectations.
you nerds know they purposeully cut out the noise of the crowd right
I love those songs
OMG! MARINA'S REACTION WHEN THEY PREFORMED WITH CALLIE AND MARIE IS JUST TOO ADORABLE! AAAHHHH! SO CUTE!
"The energy in here is elecritc"
We'll see about that
Of course the crowds energy proceeds to rise a little bit when Now or never is about start yep most Europeans probably did watch the Takagki Concert still not enough to make the concert worth watching. Even tho I technically just watched it.
18:30 Callie pissed
If I was there I would have started a mosh pit that's how hyped I was to see them.
Marie was making a joke. But I agree the camera work wasn’t so good.
marie was frustrated in the japanese concert too. she was just a bit more polite in saying it than here.
it's a mere joke in this case, it's only a reference
It's not a joke, though. It's not funny. Marie wouldn't make a comment like that.
It is. I went back and parsed the original japanese text through translate and a similar line showed up where Marie said something like 'I'll be relieved if I don't have to save you next time?'
implying she doesn't want to have to go through the work of tracking down Callie, which isn't much different in this case from what she said here.
Trust me I hate cynical Marie as much as the next dude (gender-neutrally used) but if she mentioned near-identical sentences between both versions I'm more inclined to believe the english one is what's really meant.
What I meant was that it's too out of character for her. It's not how Marie should be. I'll just tell myself it was part of their concert script.
I was thinking of what parents thought during the callie and Marie one
Now I wonder what they thought when they saw marina 😕
At least we have an english version of the dialogues •
26:35 Marina's reaction is just epic !!!
Eddy MALOU she’s so precious
;-D
30:37 HIMECHAAAAN!!!
THANK YOU! At least somebody noticed my cheer for Hime at that point!
1:29 HELLOOOOOOOO
The crowd isn't yelling because they want to be respectful. They treat them like real people and prefer to hear the music instead of distracting themselves. Jesus christ people.
どこへ行ってもイイダちゃんの可愛さは異常。
Those lines on the screen ate extremely annoying
I agree
It wouldn't be as annoying if they moved them over a few inches to where they weren't standing directly where the lines were for most of the concert
It's also bothersome that like half the screen is darker than the other half of the screen. It's pretty distracting when they walk past it and you can clearly see the difference. The most noticeable of this was at the end of the last song when they all posed in the center of the screen right on the spot between the dark screen and light screen
My parents are fighting as I try to enjoy this
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH GREEN
yo is that true? :o
they only gave out green sticks yeah
ooo that's interesting, thanks for telling me! do you guys know why?
autumndragon12 recycling
autumndragon12 you fricking idiot, it's because people love marina ( green) and hate pearl ( pink)
Marina's design is the best, love the music, definitely a wonderful event
why are there's no 'pink' light sabre?
One The pearl is very ANGERY
Because they were only green ones which were given before the show... no pink ones
there was one guy with pink lights in the audience though
StGSteve because he had his own ones, and I think he was a staff member
yeah, he had is own, but he was definitely not a staff member
People. The reason the crowd is like that is most likely because they watched the show on RUclips already. And if your thinking "if so then why did they go?" They just wanted the chance to see the thing for themselves instead of relying on the internet ok? So stop saying the crowd is dead! It's rude and immature!
I just love how Marie and Callie are so coordinated in the last song, and then there's pearl who's like spazzing out or whatever.
it's part of their design. The squid sisters are more 'conforming' while pearl and marina are more about showing themselves off.
Your profile pic combined with what you said tho XD
I’m glad they got a clearer view of the screens
Pearl, I've gotta say, you're the best, but that dab... yuck... only this time I'll let you
Off the hook
I loved the live band!! They were so awesome!
DABBING AT 27:43
Hooray for Marina and Pearl, and for a guest appearance by the (newly reunited after Story Mode) Squid Sisters. The holograms are high quality and the people look like they are having tons of fun.
すげぇー日本よりすごいライブ!外国の方が曲がいい!
(アレンジが凄い!)
I love this, it is a good experience for Splatoon fans.
Am i the only one here that noticed that Callie's earings look... weird?
Ana Nini They're hella misplaced
Adolfo Jimenez Ikr? And it's bothering me so much!
they're in front, perhaps it's an intentional design change?
they did this in the japan concert too
Adolfo Jimenez hella weird
I love it so much way better than anyone else.
I wish North America can get a concert like this... I would totally get a ticket for this!
Here before it blows up
While everyone's complaining about the crowd, I'm here complaining about the live video editing. One would think that since everything is scripted to the second, they'd know which camera angles to use at what times...
30:32 yeah! Show that pride, girl!
27:45 dab
Pearl:the energy in here is electric!
Me:You sure about that
30:10 The sound that is supposed to end the song is ahead of its time and looks awful hahaha.
28:47 I love how Marina sees Marie before she makes that mix to impress her.
the audio is really messed up but ebb and flow sounded really nice
Callie remembers the single mode fight when she tries to remember their last concert! ^_^
I kinda don't like how they shifted the camera behind Pearl and Marina...or the players in general.
Loved the squid sisters first song fresh start! ❤️❤️
Why does nintendo hate americans so much?
My mind is blown. Nothing can beat this.
