Finding out about Houdini and his wife just warmed my heart. No matter how famous he got he always loved her. The fact they wrote love letters to each other was so touchy.
I grew up on Jamaica Avenue about 10 minutes from Houdini's grave. And when we were kids, the urban legend was that he was going to come back one day on Halloween night. So lots of times in the 1970s teenagers would hold seances at the grave sight. I will definitely be watching Ron tonight to see what story he tells about this. My family still lives in Ridgewood, I will have to tell them to watch.
@@ninanonna2007 my father was the caretaker at Mount hope cemetery on the Brooklyn side. We rode our bikes up to the cemetery Houdini is at. Yes I remember the crowds on Halloween.
Wonderful walk through this amazing old cemetery I could spend hours reading headstones. I always thought Harry Houdini had a "gift" he was a true artist. He died so young Oct. 31, 1926 death is a sure thing. His burial place is lovely; sad that his wife Wilhelmina Beatrice "Bess" was buried at Gate of Heaven, N.Y. and not with Houdini. Theirs was a true love story. Bess died at 67 on board a train from Los Angeles bound to New York City just like you said Ron of a heart attack. Rest in Peace Harry and Bess Houdini.
Thank you, Ron. As always, a beautiful edit with excellent pics. It's swful how he died - and due to such a cheap shot at him.. The man who punched him should have been charged. He was a very interesting man, to say the least. Rest in Peace, Harry and Bess Houdini - not forgotten.
He was such a fascinating man, and I'm glad that he is still fondly remembered even by the new generations that have come along since his death. It does make me sad though that his lovely wife was not buried with him. No matter what religion each were, her family should've let them be reunited in death.

Loved this story but it was tragic. Harry was a great showman. My grandfather saw him once. He said it was a performance he would always remember. Fantastic
I have always been told that if you want to know how a man will treat you then watch how he treats his Mom. He must have been the most loving man by his treatment of his Mother. Bess was a lucky woman in that respect. It is a shame that they aren't buried together. I am sure they are together in Heaven though. Another great story Ron. I could listen to you tell stories all day long and be on baited breath waiting for the next story every time. You are an exceptional story teller. Until the next one my friend.

Thank you for your videos & paying respects to these often forgotten people(families) and being very respectful of their gravesites. just recently vandals damaged and destroyed over a dozen headstones at a local church graveyard with some being from the late 1700's . Grave desecration is my biggest pet pevee's (because so many Native American burialsites have been destroyed or moved & one of my ancestors was Cherokee),my 2nd pet peeve is graves or gravesites being left unattended & forgotten. I try my best to see that local gravesites are kept up as best as I can & I try to put a flower on each grave at least once or twice a year & I hope that someone will do the same for my grave once I'm gone. Please keep up the good work you do & I hope people will contribute to help replace/restore graves that you mention!

Omg that song at the end! Touching & haunting at same time. 😢
I've always had a fascination of Houdini and this era in time...Being Australian, I knew he was the first to fly a plane here. I use that to surprise friend's when they ask me ...What do ya know ? Thank you so much for taking the time to share this great talk n' walk to Harry's grave. Best wishes- from Perth, Western Australia
Thank you Ron for sharing this fantastic story🙂.
What a gorgeous old cemetery! Thanks for sharing Houdini's story -- such a fascinating person!
Only got to see this today but so enjoyable! The musical opening led perfectly into the colorful story of Houdini and his daring exploits. A great showman, loving husband and son. I was glad to see he is in a beautiful place. Thank you Ron, awesome job!🎩🌷
Love the picture at the end. thanks for doing that.
That was soo cool loved it and such a huge cemetery looked very busy (meaning all the headstones loads of them side by side)thanks again Ron ☺️
I have always been intrigued by Harry Houdini! I learned a lot more about him by watching your video. Thank you!
One of the greatest illusionists as well as showmen to have ever lived.

What an interesting life! People back then seemed more daring and took more chances. Hopefully he and Bess found each other on the other side ❤️ great content as always!

That was an exceptional video Ron, thank you for the grave tour and thank you for playing the song I never heard it and I’ve read all the books including one that was written in the 1940s that showed how he created and did all of his illusions. However, there was a few things I didn’t know which surprised me.superb💯👍🏻❤️
