Just announced today - Scientists discovered ice volcanos on Pluto. GO CARL GO! Here is my post on it: ruclips.net/user/postUgkxiUjXzfTfftcZ5msWvNonJyIX0K_zCLGR
Carl sagan was ahead off his time this man's speech about the pale blue spot is legendary now we have the james's webb's telescope which will be sending amazing picture's back this summer 2022..rest in peace carl and thank's ron for this great stream..
When my son, Rob, was very young, when his brilliance was really blooming, Dr Sagan's beautiful series "Cosmos" came to tv. Rob watched it with joy and fascination. I got him the companion book of the series by Dr Sagan, which he still treasures. I've always loved Dr Sagan for bringing and teaching his beautiful science to my son, in his warm, enthusiastic way....he was marvelous. We both miss him, very much.
What a great story , I feel like I’m getting some really good history lessons , you have some really interesting stories and I always love saluting our veterans, they were and are still brave men who fight for our country ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇦 Let’s all remember Ukraine
Unquestionably a great man. Even more so a great communicator. He was just brilliant. I also admired and appreciated him too. Thanks for covering such a great subject!
Watching this was significant and compulsory as watching the whole of the Cosmos TV Series as a youngster. When Carl passed away quickly after his illness consumed him and I certainly grieved, like the loss of a Parent. We all say its a shame he didn't get to watch the movie but I tangibly felt that Carls Spirit was in the making of Contact
The one good thing, to me, about the shuttle program, it saved the Hubble telescope from being a failure from a botched lens to adding fuel for many more fantastic photos of our universe it can still perform for as long as asked. Now with a replacement launched, we have stronger, better “eyes” to more jaw dropping images and wonders to ponder and have the inspiration I know what Carl Sagan felt about the stars a oh.. all the galaxies are still to gaze toward. Wonder about, see the absolute beauty of what lies ahead. Cosmos was just like being there!! Thanks Ron so glad you acknowledged Carl Sagan. A true teacher for me!
His Final Book, Billions & Billions. Rest in peace Mr. Sagan & everyone. Thank you for enlightening us. Sending Heart felt prayers to Ukraine & her people. Stay safe Sir & everyone.
Wonderful piece Ron! My Dad was an engineer for NASA for decades and his main project (his baby as he called it) was the Hubble. He passed away at 89 from dementia not remembering any of it in the end. I miss him terribly and all the shuttle launches we attended as a family member. We were able to sit in the bleachers as close as any human can get along with the press. The force of those rocket boosters hitting your chest is something I will never forget. My father always said there is absolutely life on other planets, of that he was sure. So many stories and visits to Houston and The Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland where we saw the equipment to train the astronauts with. Thank you for this video, you would have loved to talk to my Dad :) :) Stay Safe!
Yes! One of my heros, too. I have all his books. The series Cosmos magical. When I tire of all the sadness in our world, I reread his books and he helps calm my mind. I hope that younger folks can discover his magic and intelligence. Thank you for taking us to his grave. I want to visit and bring flowers some day.
Nooooo WAY!!! Carl Sagan changed my thinking as a teenager in New Zealand 🇳🇿. He is one of my heroes ❤. Thankyou so much for this. Yr wrk truly comes from your heart. I love this channel. 😀
While very hard to pick a favorite video that you’ve done, this is definitely near the top. I watched Cosmos on PBS in Chicago area right before going into the Army. What an amazing history lesson, and an ode to a spectacular man with a great mind. Thank you for sharing this with us!
I fell in love with the work of Carl Sagan when I was a teenager and I first read Cosmos. Contact is one of my favorite films of all time. I also love Pale Blue Dot. Thank you for doing this wonderful tribute! My email signature is my favorite passage in Cosmos: "The Earth is a place. It is by no means the only place. It is not even a typical place. No planet or star or galaxy can be typical, because the Cosmos is mostly empty. The only typical place is within the vast, cold, universal vacuum, the everlasting night of intergalactic space, a place so strange and desolate that, by comparison, planets and stars and galaxies seem achingly rare and lovely." - Carl Sagan
Carl Sagan and Jacques Cousteau are the 2 I remember seeing on TV in the early days of The Discovery Channel. On breaks from school, I would watch their stuff and others until it went off air at 2AM. Shape me a lot. More people these days could learn from those two. R.I.P. both of them.
Love heating about all these famous people and telling their stories about what they did in life....very interesting Ron.....very good job too 👍. Take care and safe travels Ron.....💕
What a fascinating story of a man not only ahead of his time but in many respects, still ahead of our time now. He died too soon but he is now free to explore beyond his vision. I loved the cemetery too, you've inspired me to visit Ithaca and have an adventure there! Thank you Ron for sharing your knowledge, telling us great stories and bringing us along!! 💙🌠
I remember Carl Sagan. What an incredible man. And the movie contact with Jodi Foster is a great movie if noones seen it. Ive watched it many times. So interesting Ron. ❤️
Ron, thank you for doing this video, my Dad was a Areronautics Engineer & after WW2(pilot) he worked for the US weather department at one point. He would wake us kids up @ 2am, 4am &have us go outside to watch meteor showers thru telescopes, night eclipse & the stars/planets you name it!! Our father enjoyed Carl Sagan, thank you for doing this & keeping Our minds open!! : )
"On a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam." I remember my dad reading the Blue Dot quote to me when i was just a nipper. I remember how his voice shook slightly, and how emotional he was reading Carl Sagan's words to me. Carl's gravestone is very small and inconspicuous but he himself is as vast as the Cosmos. Thank you for this video, Ron.
Thank you for doing this story, Ron! I was, and still am, very fond of Carl Sagan. I even learned quite a bit from him! Ice volcanoes on Pluto? Very fascinating!
Thank you for showing another great Cemetary and Carl Sagan's grave. I only knew of him because of Johnny Carson! I loved the super funny skits he did about Carl. But Johnny also was a big fan and truly admired him! Thanks for teaching me more. And refreshing my memory on what I forgot! Stay safe Ron! 🙏
I didn't know much about Carl Sagan, but as I got older and learned more about space I'm sorry I never got to watch Cosmos. Thank you for doing this wonderful program about an extraordinary man who has shaped our understanding of what might be out there.
Cosmos was what got me interested in science. Carl Sagan took concepts that were difficult to grasp, and explained them so that everyone could understand them. He opened up new worlds for a lot of people, and gave them a lot to think about. Thank you for visiting his grave; He should be better known than he is.
Thanks for this one. I loved Carl Sagan. He was like the rock star of astronomy. I thought he could make anybody interested in astronomy. I was always excited about his interviews. Very fun video.
Wonderfully made video about a wonderful, inspiring human being. Thank you for posting! And anyone who hasn't already, look up and listen to Carl's "Pale Blue Dot", narrated by him - it's on RUclips, a very moving experience. It should be compulsory listening for all schoolkids - and politicians!
I was fascinated by the NASA space program as a kid in the 60's and 70's. Star Trek and the final frontier, etc. He was so far ahead of his time. A humble marker for an extraordinary man. 🙏👏
I'm a big Sagan fan too! I've never been to Ithaca in person, but have spent years watching the Cornell Red-tailed Hawk cam. The Cornell campus is beautiful in both landscape and architecture. Yes, prayers for Ukraine!
I learned a lot from your story of his life. Might prompt me to try to obtain the Cosmos series and the movie Contact. I remember seeing Carl Sagan on Johnny Carson many time. RIP Mr. Sagan Thank you for the great video Ron
Remember how a library card used to be a Rite of Passage it was the first card that you got with your name on it that you can use independently of your parents
Huge admirer of Carl Sagan. How very thrilling to visit his final resting place! A man ahead of his time with a brilliant mind while remaining eminently accessible. Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere. ― Carl Sagan
hi ron, thank you for telling us about Carl Sagan! Rip!! love when you give us the info on people who are being remembered!! you could tell us about people all day and we wouldn't be bored!! we love you!!✌out!!!
Great history lesson Ron, like Carl my grandaughter loves everything about stars and planets. She knows far more than I do and is constantly learning more through books and videos. I will look out for anything I can about Carl and pass it on to her, she is just 9 years old.
Carl and others shed light on space, life, time, contact movie was amazing , the ship dropping for 30 seconds but video showed lots more made you wonder about life out there thats already been to earth and we have only put a man on the moon basically. we havent even begun to explore space.
I remember watching videos with Carl narrating science class in school. He made science interesting & understandable to everyone. Very interesting video Ron.👍
That was a very interesting video about Carl Sagan. Cosmos had a really great soundtrack. I was a little girl when the show came out. My dad was a big fan of it.
0:37 What a view! Looks like it is at a really high elevation. So pretty. 1:34 Thank you for calling for prayers for Ukraine. They do need all the prayers they can get. 5:22 How exciting! This is so awesome. I would love to see some photos. 13:08 Yes, definitely life all over the universe. It would be short minded or pompous to think we are all there is in the entire universe. 17:36 I've seen it 3 times. I just saw it about 2 wks back for the 3rd time. 19:19 So scary to get that kind of news. God bless his sister for helping him. 20:15 Amazing minds like his take the world further into the future than we would ever be without him. 21:33 Oh I thought he had been alive to see it. Yes, he knows....he's aware. Amazing life. Thank you for sharing that info. Beautiful day there.
Oh thank you thank you thank you I love Carl Sagan 🥰❤️ That was father daughter quality time for me and my dad watching those Carl Sagan episodes of cosmos
Ron, I'm so glad that you did this! I'm all about science! If only everyone would put so much attention on science it would be a much better world as science is the only true truth! You come up with such interesting and supporting stories. And to find out that you were an astronomer, which is something I didn't know! Your interests and accomplishments are truly amazing! Thanks! 😄

Awesome!! 🧊 🌋
Oh my goodness, to us little science nerds out here..this is HUGE. I’m off to research and see! 🛰❄️📡🛸🔭⭐️
Thank you for sharing this info. I hadn't heard about the ice volcanos. Complete opposite of Earth's fire and lava filled volcanos.
Do you ever look into Appalachian mountain cemetery’s?
Interviewed Mr. Sagan in college back In the 70’s. ❤️
Carl sagan was ahead off his time this man's speech about the pale blue spot is legendary now we have the james's webb's telescope which will be sending amazing picture's back this summer 2022..rest in peace carl and thank's ron for this great stream..
Totally agree! I'm also super excited to get blown away by what we get to see from the James Webb Telescope. It's going to be amazing!
He was great communicator, and teacher.

Sagan lived and graduated Rahway, NJ high school. Rahway is the adjacent small city next to mine. Local hero.
I remember watching him on tv when I was just a kid. A fascinating man for sure.

This one made me stop and think. I really liked it. The part about how small we really are and how many others like us is my favorite part. A++
My cousin, John, graduated from Cornell. He was one smart man and a wonderful cousin.
Love the history of these people.
