I am right there with you I love gray hair, although it took me many years to get to that point. And I would agree there's nothing worse than that regrowth stage before you can get your hair colored again so glad I don't have to deal with that anymore.

Hi Jessica, I completely understand your fear of the grow out phase. But I can tell you, there's never been a better time than right now. There are more women than ever that are going gray, and there is a huge network of women called the Silversister's for you to lock arms with during the process to champion you. The time it will take to grow out your gray if you decide to do so, I will pass much sooner than you realize.

For me, 4 decades +. I too took the plunge. I'm relieved & excited. Just snipped the last 2" of dyed hair off. Been cutting my hair since 1st lockdowns I also dyed my hair. Now, to explore fun, bleach free hair tints! 💜

Oh, I totally get it. It's definitely a very personal choice. I was dying my hair so often and it got to where Even my Grey around my temples would not cover! I didn't realize how exhausting it was until after I stopped, and had the freedom to not have to stress and plan my life around my gray hair.

I was growing mine out ten mths, ״but left underneath silver״ and colored skunk line. One of my kids getting married, so caved too. Will start top regrowth post wedding.
I'm gonna let my gray hair grow. So far I only got like three of them but they're there, ok.
I started to go grey in my 20s so still learning to love them. Other peoples reactions to it just tend to test me to be honest you'd think I was dying just because my greys are out lol
I understand I think between societies beauty standards, telling us that gray makes us look old or unattractive, coupled with our friends and family, who are also stuck in that old mindset, make it difficult, sometimes to break free to see things in a new perspective.
@VanessaChamberlinTV Its really difficult especially when surrounded by women twice your age with no greys showing. Women in my culture dont show greys either ever or when they are really old in 80s etc. So its just not the done thing.

I always think grey hair looks beautiful and better on others but not me. Ugh! I'm at the stage where my colored hair is really faded and looks so unhealthy. I wanna slap some dye on it. I'm just going to keep visualizing myself with my real hair!
I totally understand stay strong, we all have those moments, but in the end, my inclination is you're going to absolutely love your fully grown silvercrown. If you have to wear hats braid your hair, ponytails phony ponies there so many options to help you through the transition if necessary.💗

im only a 18 yrs old girl.. my biggest insecurity is my grey hair..I have it for the past 4 yrs..About 1/4 th of my whole hair is grey..so i dye it with brown clr using henna every month..Whenever I meet my new frnds or rrelative they always ask whts with ur hair..Now theyll think that ive coloured my hair brwn..
I understand your embarrassment - my first grey were about 17 years old. You have the opportunity to ditch the dye and embrace the grey journey - i suspect if you did so - you would find a new sense of freedom from within- and new ways to fall in love with your grey tinsel. Just a thought:)
I think women who are willing to let their hair grow gray and white are beautiful. I especially like to see it long. Walk in your beautiful age!!! Let your proof of life experiences shine through. Those aren't wrinkles on your face, they are crinkles. Aging is beautiful, painful at times, but beautiful.
I couldn't agree more! its definitely a process- and everyone aging in the manner that feels right for them. But there is nothing better than letting go of something you have spent so much time trying to hide.freedom of self acceptance is a beautiful thing.

Growing old is a privilege not everyone has. I don’t feel old because I have grey hair, it’s what we have had instilled in us this negativity.Free yourself !

I know you ladies make money from romanticizing the going gray after you all went decades upon decades telling other women that it was uncool to not dye the white hair….but TBH I have not seen a woman, in person, who looks good in their gray hair. Women out in the world are not walking around with good lighting and good editing so they simply look normal…dry hair if they dye it, dry hair if they don’t dye it. Hardly a silver crown.
Yeah but you don't have wrinkles. Even with gray hair you don't look old. Not the same case on someone with wrinkles 🥲
Grey hair with our without wrinkle is beautiful - no different with any color hair. its a happy heart that makes all the difference.
