This was a terrific tutorial on checkboxes. I still struggle with a couple of ideas in my specific circumstances.
Does this method only apply to Excel on the web, or can it be available in the Windows desktop version of excel, from my 365 subscription? Can I use Excel 365 on the desktop, but not in a browser?
I have a catalog of 1500 designs I have created for shirts. I want a check box to indicate which ones I have uploaded to my shop. I have found that using either form control check boxes or ActiveX checkboxes is both cumbersome and memory consuming. My whole computer grinds to a near halt when I add 1500 checkboxes. I have 64 GB of RAM, and several TB of drive space.
The main reason I need to use Excel on my desktop is because I am blind, and use software to read the screen, which doesn't always detect elements in the browser. It works fine in Excel 2019, or whatever version 365 put on my computer.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. 😁
This feature is actually currently only available to Windows Desktop versions of Excel, but should be coming to Mac OS and Web versions soon.
With that being said, as it is very new, it is rolling out to users in waves and you may not see it on your desktop version just yet. If that is the case, it won't be too far away (maybe next month's update).
It sounds to me like this feature is perfect for your use case, so I hope the feature comes to you as soon as possible. I've used the Form Control version of check boxes in the past and I am impressed that you used it for that many items. That must have been arduous to say the least.

@@paulomalley Thanks. I will look for it. I have looked in 365 also, but I don't see it there, either. I'll wait to see what happens in the update.
I tried to put 1500 form control check boxes in my worksheet. But Windows complained and filed a greivance, "Excel is not responding...". I had to end the task and drop back to a previous revision.
In the meantime, I simply use a capitol X in the "Published" column to denote designs that are uploaded. The conditional formatting and stats calculations all work the same, but with string values instead of object states.

Nicely done but i have a question!
Why i can't get acess to these features having a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription?

The roll out of this new feature has begun, but generally rolls out in waves. Currently, the only device I have seen this feature available on is my Windows devices (not Mac OS or Web as yet).
Realistically, if you don't see it there just yet, it is likely to be enabled in next month's Office update.
Alternatively, signing up for the Office Insider program should get you the update early as that generally gets the next month's update early.

@@paulomalley Is there any way to force the update?
I've been waiting for weeks to get this feature On and have a MS 365 Apps Enterprise subscription in place.

Currently, the only way to "force" the update would be to register in the Office Insider program. That's the only way I know of at least.
Outside of that, it's a matter of waiting for it to eventually finish its roll out... 😞
