I love this! I love how you don't go on at length about each plot line and give more about your thoughts here!! Aaaand I truly love that you don't love spicy books!! I feel like it's so hard to find booktubers that feel that way and it makes me comfortable taking any of your recs!! Thanks for being you and being honest always!
thank you!!🤍 & yes I need to try to find & recommend more no spice or less spice!
You're so close to your reading goal 👏 I want to read plenty of these books too 🙈

you should definitely read the ballad of never after soon! it was better than the first to me!!
omg I need to!!
You are so amazing! Your reading tastes are amazing & it makes me wanna read more! Glad to hear you enjoyed Happy Place as much as I did, probably better than any other Emily Henry book in my honest opinion. Thanks so much for sharing! 💖📚🌈😻 I have a personally fun question for you. Which authors do you read that you think they were ahead of their time?
I would recommend, especially as you get older, to try material out of your comfort zone- some classics, book award winners, and maybe(Gasp!) even a novel or two written by a man. (In your list you named one?)You don’t want to be on your deathbed having never read Dickens, Flaubert, Steinbeck, Woolf (A woman!) et al. Happy reading!!
the great thing about reading is we all have our own reading taste! I am still a new reader and am learning what I enjoy and don't enjoy. I don't even pay attention to if the author is male or female because it doesn't change my opinion on if I think I will like the book or not. I read solely based on the plot line. I have mostly read romance which seems to be written by more female authors. I do plan to read a classic at some point but just haven't gotten to that point yet. like I said, we all have different tastes & opinions :)
There’s a saying that Classics are the books that folks talk about or name drop but never read. literary fiction is sometimes dense, turgid and much of the time I can’t make heads or tales(Pun!!) of it! I’m a genre reader myself (horror/weird/macabre i.e. speculative fiction but I try my hand at canonical authors when I’m in the mood- but please try- you’re probably smarter than I am and definitely a faster reader so you’re equipped to jump in. Many female authors in the classics. I’ll admit my bias towards male authors but have enjoyed Diane Setterfield’s works. There’s a reason no one is likely to read a thriller twice-although page turners make for compulsive reading they’re akin to a fast food meal: quickly consumed and quickly forgotten. I like novels that make you think and that you’re making notes on & learning from. Finally, I’ll leave you with a recommendation: The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon(The Cemetery of Forgotten Books)and yes, it is a series of sorts (four in all). It’s said that you don’t have to read them in order of publication but I’d suggest it. A future “classic” in genre fiction to be sure. Unfortunately the author passed after completing the final book well before his time. Lastly, I would like a future where you could select a novel and NOT know the author’s name or gender, the name of the publisher, nor being able to see the cover- I can see a cover and think or know that I would hate that book in 2 seconds- everything biases us and we can’t go into a story fresh and unencumbered. Just sayin’….
You're so gorgeous
you are so inspiring ❤❤❤
