1st Test Run Ilfracombe - Barnstaple since 2019: RocoICE VideoLok of 2013. Not HD! 21/05/24

First direct recording (not off-screen) of Roco VideoLok ICE from 2013 streamed via Z21 App to an Android TV Box ( from where ot would normally be displayed on a large screen - but here converted from HDMI to Analogue PAL video and recorded digitally on a cheap 'Mypin' DIgital PVR/monitor ( specced at 720 x 576 x 12.5 fps !! ) ... the low frame rate perhaps being a suitable match for the frame rate from the onboard camera of 2013 vintage.
Compare to the other uploaded video from 18th April which was from a 'drone' FPV camera recorded digitally onto a TF card in a headset receiver/recorder.
This was the first run of a train from 'Ilfracombe' to Barnstaple Junction on my Beechingless Barnstaple 00 Layout since Ilfracombe was relaid with Rocoline-with-ballast track in December 2019 (other layouts having taken priority)... making the whole layout now Rocoline-with-Ballast for Standard Gauge (Roco H0e/Peco H0e/Tillig for the L&B narrow gauge - not shown)
To clear the tracks for cleaning, lifting, reprogramming the points and other adjustmets in the last few weeks, everything has been piled up in adjacent areas - but these test runs were to verify the track laying for smoothness etc.
(And the quality of the 2013 onboard camera recordings)
Currently 'Slade Tunnel and the approach to Ilfracombe are being relaid on a new foundation of Twinwall Polycarbonate and XPS foam base - replacing the 2005/7 original expanded polystyrene incline. The tunnel is normally covered by a large piece of removable hilltop - complete with castle - for when more access is required to Exeter St Davids ( semi-scenic storage platforms on the level below )
The ICE Videolok is useful for track testing as it is capable of high speed yet runs extremely well - with plenty of reserve power storage to ensure the video streaming is uninterruppted by dirty track.
As the track adjustments are completed, the scenery will be replaced before the next video .... I may also try HDMI to SDI to Blackmagic Mini Studio recording ...
