I’ve never been a Fender pedal or amp fan… but this comparison just made me rethink that stance. The Fender just has a really nice overall tone quality that the others lack. The MXR is a close second.
Hey guys, love the videos! I'm a metal drummer trying to get in to guitar and bass more and your channel has helped a lot with choosing gear. Also just wanna let you know most of the timestamps in the description say 0:00. Don't know if that's just my computer being weird.
I own 28 Distortion pedals all over $150.00 USD most are well over $200.00 USD and a few are over $300.00 USD. They are my measuring stick. I agree the Rat II fits with them and I do have one. There are 2 pedal I do have that sound as good as my pricey pedals. The ATM electronics S-drive is designed imitate a Soldano amp. It is very, very convincing. Nux make the Plexi Crunch ...an obvious Marshall-in-a-Box pedal it is easily equal to others well over $200.00 USD and it is only $50.00 USD. In fact I would put up this NUX as the very best value for money pedal you can buy. It is a bullet proof choice.
Okay, rating time. 1. MXR, amazing tone. Best all around 2. Boss super ds2, heaviest and crisp. Sounds badass 3. Blackstar sounds good, but he didnt crank it. 4.. Fender pugilist, good for light/mid range distortion. Crap low end 5. Rat, really doesnt sound that good. Why people rave about this pedal.
They are all a bit mosquitoey sounding..... you always get what you pay for .... they are all very cold sounding ... i used to have a metal zone ahhhhhh ... it sounded nice on bass... i suppose with a decent amp you are half way there....
Thank you for not playing the same generic blues riffs like every other distortion reviewer does.

Instead of complaints do sum to change it
@@rickeymitchell8303 voicing complaints is a necessary part of the process of changing things.
The MXR Superbadass is the most underrated pedal i ever had and it is a real BEAST!
Super versatile. Highly recommended
Just tried it today it's so good and ordered one and waiting for it to arrive tomorrow. Such a Clean distortion
It is one of my favorites and it’s currently on my board. I have many other dirt pedals costing much more.
it costs more than a boss ds2 here :T
It sounds amazing. MXR must be a real good brand, from the few pedals I've been checking out by them.
Too muddy for me n lacks gain

I tried every guitar made and always go back to my stratovarious

Thanks for tuning in! It wasn't just your computer - congratulations, you passed the test! 👀 😅
The mxr and the fender are the best pedals to me ✌

You have 28 distortion pedals? Why
@@rozzer666 this guy is a rockstar and probably has so many stories he could tell us, if this man speaks we should listen
I fell in love with the mxr
Hello, for me the Black star pedal is the winner 😊🎸🎶
the legend RAT...
Great compareson video, excellent. Can't deside, Blackstar or the Fender it got to be for me. I like the fat mids best.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what guitar and amp were you using? Love the vid!
Did you throw that fender pedal into the gabage can after the video?
Love the raaaaaaat 🐀

LONG LIVE THE RAT
Collective Soul!
I'd be happy to have any one of them🤘 because I don't have one LOL.
Blackstar or the MXR for me!
I've had and sold both a rat and ds1 and I regret them both, especially the rat because that thing can get disgusting
DS-2 sounded best to me.
What was that riff you played using the fender pugilist?
Shine collective soul
DS-2 or Blackstar LT Dist?
DS-2 if you want to play more high gain/metal as well as classic stuff. It's been around since 1987 for a reason, it's a great pedal.
At the End of My Daze!!!
Fender so nice sound❤
No metalzone?

I guess I’m a fender guy
Blackstar is amazing but super hard to find 🤘

All pedals sound the same to me
He seems like the type of guy who reads the manual...
