  • Driving in Albrook one of the nicest places in Panama, but these are basically old Military barracks remodeled, the wiring is still over a hundred years old. And they cost over $250,000 for a 1/2 side duplex that is about 1500 sq ft.

I am from Panama City, Panama and I lived in ever since I was born in 1982. I lived from hidden valley, the flats, and by the baseball field between 1989 to late 1996 when me and my family had to leave Panama. Watching this video breaks my heart so much because the Panamanian government wanted this to happen by taking all of the families who served in the military in Panama out of the country back to the US and close down the Albrook Air Force Base in 1997. I will always remember all the fun times and great times I had in Albrook Air Force Base forever. Thank you so much for this video🇵🇦🇺🇸

i used to live here, in Albrook, for a few years, in the 80's. Love seeing this place, despite your misinformed angry views!

Your profound ignorance of the history Canal Zone and the Panama Canal Treaty's history is obvious. Housing in Albrook is not "basically" old barracks" as most was purpose built by the US government to house military families post WW2. Hence the wiring can not be "over a hundred years old". Most properties are now owned by professional Panamanians who've invested millions in upgrades since 1999. Your obtuse and strange observation that the "Panamanian government "took these houses from people" then sold them to private individuals..." is factually incorrect. Precisely, what do you base this on? Observations about houses in an area where "the locals live" is also incorrect---most do not have "gates, iron fences, around them". Have you driven through Beverly Hills, CA lately, I have--and nearly 100% of houses are access controlled with "Armed Response" signs/CCTV covering everything. How many suburbs in North Carolina, Texas, Illinois, California--in the US are gates? Tens of Thousands. In summary, you sound like an ignorant, racist, recalcitrant, poorly informed, right wing jack ass.
