Am a straight boy, no, not bisexual or wondering what I might be but this movie had me in tears ! Beautiful and emotional........one of my best friends, yes, a guy from the good old school days was gay. He only told me when we were 18 and he has suffered more than I would want anyone to suffer because he is " GAY. " The mocking, the attacking, the lies, the hiding, the abuse, the total rejection by some of his family members and mine, mind you. Marki know this: to refer to your self as anything but "healthy" does a disservice to your quality of being: 'straight', 'gay', 'bi', or whatever, is an artificial construct created by Hans-Ebbing in the 1850's: never before had such choice of libidous object been qualified. Fifth to third C Ancient Greece did not have a name for same-sex attraction, it just 'was'. The need of contemporary society to qualify expressions of individuality into categories flows from the fragmentation of society in tribal groups, seeking security by 'sameness'. To exist, as a personality, among diverse groups, whether it be religion, gender, nationality, or libidinous attraction, is the definition of strength in a personality. Settle down, irrespective of the gender, have ki=ds, love them, teach them the purity and strength of persoanlity that your possess. Let me know when, and I will send a gift to your humanity...Bisous.

@@juliancoulden1753 Thank you for your kind words. At the time I though I was being foolish. But I can't go back and fix it so I moved on and never gave up on the hope that someday the right one will come along
Once you have let go, and mentally you are ready to move on, something changes in your body and mind. Unconsciously you start to signal that you aren’t a closed shop, and that you are open to the possibilities of life. I discovered this about myself.
Right from the beginning this reminded me of something. Right until the end. I remember my friend kissing me in my back garden at night while we were looking at the skies. It was so awkward I moved away coz I didn't feel comfortable with myself at the time. But I regret it now.
Maybe you were just too young, I don't know. But it's okay to regret certain things; it proves that we have changed and evolved. If you only knew how many things I regret.

@@afgzee2011 Yeah, of course the relationship would change, he must have felt rejected after that. It might seem sad, but you grew up and learned from the situation. And that's a very good thing.
Excellent dialogue driven story! Their friendship is totally believable. Great chemistry between the characters. Beautiful actors. They love and care about each other as best friends and maybe that love will grow into more than best friends. Their one kiss is beautiful! Daniel, you are a good story teller.
I loved how Dante described heaven. The birds sing louder when you're happy and when you hurt they cry with you 🙂 that really got me overwhelmed ! Thank you for this beautiful movie
This is immensely beautiful... It reminds me of young lad I met one day of May 1988, when he was 22 and I was the elder by ten years, and we sat in our cars, on a parking lot for about three hours straight. We wished one another good night and went back to our respective places, a few days later we became more intimate, and later lovers, till he told me he was HIV+ Although, he did not want us to become lovers, we remained friends and still communicate to this day. This movie reminded me of that. Thank You for that emotion, and its authenticity. Love to All. JL
I had a friend a gay guy back in high school ... They once wanted to hit him in the toilets ... I heard them talking so I just made one of our great teachers (Man) see them while preparing themselves to do their dirty plan ,thank god the teacher saw everything and my friend was all safe ... I miss u man I will never forget u . He is now gone 😭 If time goes back I'll do the same for u 💟
Daniel, my breathing got shallower & more shallower as the film progressed. The looks in each of the guys eyes drew my face closer to the screen. I was looking for more. I was not disappointed. This has took me back to my younger days when reaching out & hopeful that your friend might feel the same way at that particular time. I loved this film, it is beautifully written, acted & directed. Thank you for sharing this amazing piece of work.
This was such a great piece of work. From the beginning, it felt genuine and relatable. The connection between the two guys seems very real and there is a chemistry to their interaction that works so well and just feels natural. An excellent job overall!
Full heart acting. They are in "symbiose" as if the night and nature were respecting them. Full of sensitiveness and emotion.... which is, I guess.... what YOU ARE Daniel.💓
The storyline, delivery the choice of actors, background music started at the perfect time and the kiss made one of the few truly great short films. Thank you
This was so amazing to watch and to see them kiss just made me happy. The palpable tension and constantly stolen gazes just struck a chord in my heart.
Well this comment struck a chord in my heart! Thank you so much for watching! I want to create videos that make people feel and it makes me so happy to hear that this video made you feel.
Definitely brought back memories.. For a gay man/boy falling in love with your straight best friend is never an easy thing to go through. The friendships rarely last through that. at least it didn’t in my case. At 18 and 17, he was my first true love, and man did I have it bad… It became impossible to hide my feelings…..Our eventual parting of ways had me torn up for months when the friendship ended …
Sooooooooo can I please point out how this seventeen minute movie has more amazingness than most of the full length ones I've seen??? And um ... Don't wanna be greedy but, more please!
reading these comments of people telling their regrets about not taking a chance with their best friend who they loved/love makes me so incredibly happy and glad that i took a chance with mine. literally thank god. it was terrifying and a stretched out time of back and forth and trying to move on but now we’re finally together and have been dating for seven months and hopefully many months more
I didn't tell anyone in school. It wasn't the time to tell. Missed all those years. Now reliving them through movies. THAT was the most amazing thing ever - after years and decades of questioning and doubting I saw movies of what before only happened in my head. I wrote stories (and burned them) and years later those stories were movies and short films.
When I was was watching this in the beginning, I thought 'This reminds me of Ari and Dante from the book Aristotle and Dante discover the Secrets of the Universe.' , so I looked in the description and it is inspired by the book! You did a good job capturing the characters, and even on it's own, it is a beautiful film, with great acting. Amazing job, love it!❤
Ah, there is more. Remember his friend can see things that others can not. And his friend is so charismatic that he can get others to do almost anything. So there is no need to discuss the kiss. They lay back and just smiled. And that's a beautiful thing.
@@esquirexii Yes, I agree with that..Some people can see things that others can not. You are right that charismatic ability around others...I agree with you on that...I am glad that they kiss one another in the end...Both are cute guys in this video.....

This was very beautiful. 😭 Takes me back to sitting in my car at night and talking to my best friend. He was the one person that no matter what always accepted me. I'll never forget the first time that he leaned in to kiss me. 💖
Beautiful. I think it was adapted from the book Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. No mention the n the credits though. The book is also sensitive and mature. So far ahead in gay consciousness. Really refreshing . Real art!
This was the most nuanced gay film that I may have seen. These two young men are fine actors. Their dialogue was touching and felt totally spontaneous. Wow!!! I want the entire world to see this . . . though it would probably be a waste of time because most people could not take it in. Thanks so much to the writers and the actors.
I was playing with my phone, not paying attention...then I heard words I've read a dozen times and heard the names Ari and Dante and I put my phone down immediately. This was perfect and if they ever make a movie, I hope you guys are involved.
Frost Weasel I’m so happy you liked the film! The book is incredible and i wanted to create something that helped honor that! Sending love your way! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing this extraordinary short film. This was so positive and moving without being pretentious. The kiss was beautiful, but when Ari smiled at the end...that was the icing on the cake. Again thanks for a wonderfully written and well acted fine film.
I've watched this video at least four times....breaks my hearr each time. It is very important to say I Love You. I love the smiles on their faces at the very end.
A lot of promise here! Beautifully filmed and endless possibilities with a format like this. No need for elaborate sets or locations, just two people in an intimate conversation about anything!
I just read Dante and Aristotle Discover the Secrets of the Universe about 2 months ago and while watching this I thought about how much this reminded me of it. Then Dante said, "Ari" and what an uncommon name I knew it was the book. Anyway I just wanted to say how amazing that book is and you did an equally amazing adaptation. Great work!
Very well done indeed. The two actors draw you into their feelings and emotions. At the same time, it makes one remember similar events in one's past, sometimes with happiness, sometimes with regret for lost ocassions of love that will never return. Bravo! Complimenti!
was one of the first persons to watch it, and as short as it is it still became one of my 4 favorite films of all time. I did not comment on one very unique thing previously, apart from having shared it with everyone I know who matters: at the very end he did not give the usual flowery answer when asked, "What are you doing?" The response was real, and was genius for what happens so often with first loves and relationships...... THANK YOU !!!
The acting is just outstanding. The writing is just outstanding . All in 17 minutes. The communication between Ari and Dante manifested wordlessly. Two young men coming to terms with the meaning of real frienship.
Ari and dante is my favourite book and i think you captured the characters very well. loved the acting as well, because usually these shorts are very awkward, but this wasn't, it felt authentic.

You are a good man. I would do the same. But the sacrifice is huge. And it takes enormous strength of character to do what you have done.

Thank you for your kind words.
If you only knew how many things I regret.
afgzee Thank you so much for sharing that and for finding something in this film that you connected with...as a storyteller that’s all I want! You’re incredible never forget that!
Nice and cool...I like this video as well....
@@monsegeek I was young in my mind I guess I was 18 as all 18 year old were. We had the most amazing friendship but after that night it was never the same again, onlyclz I wasn't comfortable with myself and he must have felt so awkward thinking about what I would have thought of him. It's sad but in 25 now and grown up a lot.
Hi . I am gay
I loved how Dante described heaven. The birds sing louder when you're happy and when you hurt they cry with you 🙂 that really got me overwhelmed !
Thank you for this beautiful movie
One of the best short gay films I've ever seen. I felt the tension and all the holding back! Good work Daniel. More of you two 💕
Yeah💛
Hi
He is now gone 😭
If time goes back I'll do the same for u 💟
Sad for your lose
I love shorts like this. It makes me miss all the late night conversations that meant anything with friends.
Midnight conversations with friends that you love are always the best!
And when u dont have friends :)
@@ayoubben2018 you can always get new friends yk
How sweet, they'll make a lovely couple
now, who else is watching this on their own in the night😇 absolutely love the emotions and the bond these guys have for eachother🤩 cheers!!!
This comment made me so happy!I It is incredible to hear that you could relate to this story!
This was such a great piece of work. From the beginning, it felt genuine and relatable. The connection between the two guys seems very real and there is a chemistry to their interaction that works so well and just feels natural. An excellent job overall!
Maurice Gillespie Thank you for the kind words Maurice!!!
Total agreement with what you said 😁😊✌
Full heart acting.
Thank you
Dog Brokedog Thank you so much for watching! It makes me so happy to hear that you enjoyed it!
Such a nice feeling when you kissed your best friend and accepted it :)
Dante reminds me so much of Jake Gylenhall, especially when he smiles and laughs.
Beautifully acted and written, with all the nuance of touching a love that was already there. Pure innocence.
After the kiss, while they lay back down, it would've been lovely to hear him say "you're my best friend too."
That would have been nice.
the guy on the left made the ache of learning that his dearest friend was leaving, so palpable. Good piece of acting!!!!!
I was like... Uuuuhm ARI AND DANTE VIBES and then I saw that it WAS inspired by it ! YES ! Thank you !
Eloïse Brad Thank you for watching! ❤️❤️❤️
Literally had the same thought process!!
I was just about to comment it when I got to the part about his brother and I was like ohhh that’s why it’s familiar 😂😂
Haha sameeeee
As soon as I heard him say the name i knew!
This is still soooo good after having watched it several times.
Thank you ❤❤❤
I love the vibe, such a chill location with no distraction, only focusing on the characters and emotions, just so beautiful!
reading these comments of people telling their regrets about not taking a chance with their best friend who they loved/love makes me so incredibly happy and glad that i took a chance with mine. literally thank god. it was terrifying and a stretched out time of back and forth and trying to move on but now we’re finally together and have been dating for seven months and hopefully many months more
I didn't tell anyone in school. It wasn't the time to tell. Missed all those years. Now reliving them through movies.
THAT was the most amazing thing ever - after years and decades of questioning and doubting I saw movies of what before only happened in my head.
I wrote stories (and burned them) and years later those stories were movies and short films.
Crushing on my straight best friend has been a life long issue. I'm glad we never crossed that boundary though. Better to keep him as a friend.
Amazing job, love it!❤
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Universe....I read both books and saw the movie. Beautiful story.
I love this short movie, that smile in their faces after the kiss is like a happy ending already.. How I wish I had a best friend.... ❤️😍
I love how he says that he will miss him and that he is his best friend!!!! And yes, so his friend gives him a kiss!!!!!! Yes!!!!
Ah, there is more. Remember his friend can see things that others can not. And his friend is so charismatic that he can get others to do almost anything. So there is no need to discuss the kiss. They lay back and just smiled.
And that's a beautiful thing.
Friendship is a beautiful thing!! ❤️❤️

@@itsDanielRivera you are so right on that.....Stay cool..
@@esquirexii Yes, I agree with that..Some people can see things that others can not. You are right that charismatic ability around others...I agree with you on that...I am glad that they kiss one another in the end...Both are cute guys in this video.....
Is this inspired by"Aristotle and Dante dsicover the secrets of the Universe"? I love that book, and I really enjoyed this shorrf film❤well done. The emotions I fel while watching this were so pure
I can’t wait to watch the actual movie, Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
I like how after the kiss they both smile like,God,you don't know how long I've wanted to do that
This was very beautiful. 😭 Takes me back to sitting in my car at night and talking to my best friend. He was the one person that no matter what always accepted me. I'll never forget the first time that he leaned in to kiss me. 💖
A beautiful version of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. Could not wait for them to kiss.
Kudos to the director and these two fine young actors! Both boys were able to say so much with their eyes alone! Beautiful, beautiful work! 💕
This is a kind of a short film I always starve to watch... So cinematic, so dramatic.. Loved it till the end.
I survived the pandemic isolation with a daily dose of gay movies like this one.
me too :’(
Beautiful. I think it was adapted from the book Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. No mention the n the credits though. The book is also sensitive and mature. So far ahead in gay consciousness. Really refreshing . Real art!
thank you Sir ❤
Good one !
The novel Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe needs a whole movie.
When Ari started crying, I cried and I never cry! Good job guys!
such a simple, but effective story. talented young actors!
The director: never make eye contact
Also the director: stare at each other non stop
How was this video running if you were playing on your phone and I don't think that one of your family mebers was watching this in front of people
Axel Ortiz uh there’s a thing called a tv?
The beauty of men letting go and being themselves...👏
a lovely piece of work. so full of longing and need and repressed love. one of the best short gay-themed movies I have ever see.
Wow Alex! Thank you so much for saying that! This put a big smile on my face. :)
I am so glad to hear that! you keep up the good work.
Ugh I love Love LOVE Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe!!
Super film, we all need a " Best Friend" perhaps we should show our feelings to that person a little more often! Thank you for sharing !
Incredibly well written and acted!
That was sweet. More LGBTQ stuff with happy endings please.

I cried so hard watching this... It was so subtle and all that tension was just perfect. Thank you so much for the content.
Based on Aristotle and Dante discovered the secrets of the universe
Thank you for sharing this extraordinary short film. This was so positive and moving without being pretentious. The kiss was beautiful, but when Ari smiled at the end...that was the icing on the cake. Again thanks for a wonderfully written and well acted fine film.
I like that there's someone who could listen to your story and try to make you feel better after.
I really love how well the book characters were acted out, I loved the book and I love this. Great work!
Thank you Rodrigo! The book is incredible, so we really wanted to do it justice.
Hi Rodrigo,
What's the name of the book?
I’m literally freaking out over the coincidence that I’m actually reading Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe currently. ‼️‼️‼️
EXCELLENT!!! I liked the camera focusing on each actor indivually. It was very sweet and tender. Would love to see more.
This is so beautiful and such a liberating story for me thank you for making such an empressive short film. 😊
Great work!
Man this is such a sweet short! Also you two have such a great onscreen presence ! Really amazing :)
Mike Handschin You’re the best Mike! Thank you so much for the support!
it's Daniel Any time, Daniel ;)
Right about this video....
Mike Handschin hi mike
Mike Handschin up
Very well done indeed.
