A year. A boy. An instant.
Hugo is a boy who lives anchored in the routine, focused on his tasks and responsibilities. Unable to look forward, he lets opportunities pass, stalling in the past. On the contrary, Cosmo is a free soul that lives without looking back, always going from one place to another no matter where. One summer afternoon their gazes cross by chance. It is only an instant, but it will be the birth of a relationship that will make them stop for the first time to live the present.
An instant is a story about friendship, love and the importance of the small moments that endow our lives with meaning.

No hay nada que te marque tanto como la ilusión de lo que pudo ser y no fue. Esa historia idealizada se queda como tatuaje. Esa persona que se cruza en nuestro camino en un instante, un minuto antes de verlo simplemente no existía en nuestra memoria... Y luego decide continuar su camino dejándonos en ese tren que avanza inexorablemente con un pasajero ausente, y llegará a la última estación sin darse cuenta que pasaron otras estaciones, y nunca se levantó del asiento porque fue más placentero habitar esos instantes 😸
Esa primera frase "No hay nada que te marque tanto como la ilusión de lo que pudo ser y no fue.” Caló bien profundo en mi ser y es verdad la pregunta que todos nos hacemos es que pudo llegar a ser y no fue 😢

Thanks for this. It seems difficult for people to show stories like this. Where there's longing, and emotion, and just... something living beyond the typical 'gay story.' Nothing so obvious as a stolen kiss, but maybe a stolen glance or two. I loved this film. The casting was spot on, and everything about it spoke to me more than I'd have thought possible for something so small. Not all films have to be grand declarations or tragedies, and this one encapsulated that feeling perfectly.

The casting for the role of "still strikingly beautiful and charismatic alt/punk-guy, but who is also self-consciously getting too old to be that kind of guy anymore, but, then, what else is there for you to be in this world" is one of the best I've seen.

What a beautiful film. There was definitely something there between them. I wanted Cosmo to go for it and kiss him. This could have been a full length movie, it strikes you right in the heart.

Una historia agridulce llena de dulzura y sensibilidad, donde dos chicos en apariencia tan antagónicos miran por encima de lo superficial y ven lo mejor del corazón de cada uno. Si algo me ha enseñado la vida es que los que parecen duros es su coraza para que no le dañen su corazón frágil dispuesto a dar y recibir cariño. Hay quien ve a un niño bien y a un punk. Yo sólo veo ternura. Gracias por compartir tu mundo audiovisual y tu mundo en un planeta cada vez más insensible y violento. Necesitamos gente como tú. Que te vaya siempre bien en la vida. Abrazo osuno de una persona que aparenta ser ruda pero que como los personajes de tu historia sólo necesita dar y recibir cariño.

Deliciously ambiguous. Hugo so longs for Cosmo; blown away when he sees Cosmo shirtless. Cosmo likes Hugo, but we don’t see him eyeing the shirtless Hugo. The homoerotic subtext is just right - - a subtext.
Reminds me of a four-year relationship with a guy in college, a fraternity brother. I yearned for him. He liked me. We did non-sexual guy things together.
Like Cosmo, he graduated and moved on and I never saw him again.
But I cherish his memory. I wonder if he ever thinks of me.

Masterpiece
Set in Barcelona, a young photography student captures the instants of attraction to another in photos but is incapable of more. In this age of selfies where the image is more important than reality, it becomes a sad reflection of a life unlived.

Well said: Hugo sees life through a camera, through an adjusted lens, only through his camera lens as his only way of caring, but he only lusts the image, never can he feel the image real, not the body...he lusts through a lens, as if he dare not touch, if he did he wold explode: he can't feel sweetness: his finger flips the shutter like a trigger: a photo shot, the image dead....the uncertainty of how they physically fused leaves open the possibility that Cosmo left empty inside: Hugo's facial expression is so empty, his longing splayed, his zipper keeping what little warmth is left...he was sleeping alone...Cosmo leaves as if he was sent as an angel to open up Hugo's heart, the angel leaves as he came, from smoking to sucking: the angel changed, but not Hugo

Entendí que la vida va pasando... Conocemos gente y muchos se van, pues están solo de paso por nuestra vida. Dejando un vacío y a seguir adelante. La vida sigue y lo que no aprovechas en el momento exacto (como la fotografía con los chicos reunidos frente al Mural) ya no lo podrás hacer... Beautifully well done.For many all they may ever have is just an instant.A day, a week, a month ,a year or 5 years with a special one. Often a life is made up of these instances ,sometimes simple , sometimes intense, strung together, of loves and heartbreaks that one or both hoped would not end. You have to not wast your time together and say what you can.

No hay nada que agregar es impecable el mensaje, cosmo es hetero y Hugo gay sólo tienen empatía respeto y son cordiales entre sí nada más!!! Es un amor no correspondido porque es imposible para una persona que está segura de su inclinación sexual tener una relación bisexual y cosmo desempeña en forma excelente su papel de varón masculino y heterosexual para desgracia de Hugo!!! Pero si es factible una amistad como el altruismo de cosmo demostró muy bien

I think that both characters, in their own way, were attracted to attributes the other one had and they perhaps felt they lacked. A beautiful unlikely friendship that the younger one wished was more.

@Adrià Guxens .. I have thought about this and don't mind sharing, but when you pose a question, I think it's better to give others a chance to respond, before presuming to answer one's own question. As the creator of the film, you're sort of in the same position, perhaps even more so, because people tend to think the creator of a work has the definitive interpretation. I don't. I think the creator's view is important, but a work of art nevertheless has a life of its own, and sometimes there's more there than what the artist intended. So I'll respond, but let's give others a chance first. :-)

Por qué toda película o corto gay tiene que terminar melancólico, siempre se hace ver la vida de las parejas gay como llenas de drama y sufrimiento siempre que veo un corto gay este termina triste o con la muerte de alguno, pero felicidades ahora me voy a deprimir por ese final muy buen corto 👍😪

I have watched a lot of gay cinema but this had the edge and "walking on eggshells" very close at all times which was fantastic. That ending (while sad) gave me a bittersweet feeling I've come to expect from gay film. Overall, very very good. Cosmo looked like gay Spanish Paul Walker and I was into that hahahaha
