"He likes boys - fantastic, he likes girls - so what? nobody's perfect" LMAO SIS PERIOD

Finally, a short gay film that ends on a positive note!
There are plenty of short gay films that end on a positive note. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There are also some that don't but I've found many that do.
@@ajwalker4416 ...nah, shut up. All gay stories end in a bitter disconnect or with a straight up death. How old are you? Get a grip. Stories with a happy gay ending have been few and far between.
@@IWillHarvestYourToes You didn't have to be rude and finding them isn't as hard as you seem to what to make it out to be. This is one example already and I can think of dozens and dozens more. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You need to open your eyes to find them.
@@ajwalker4416 ...girl, don't try to victimize yourself over here on the youtubes okay? I wasn't rude at all. I was talking to you just like how I would talk to my friends. Don't take me too seriously because I'm quite silly most of the time. Sorry if I offended you, that wasn't my intention. I think most gay films end up on a bittersweet or sour note and most str8 love stories are all about the happy ever after. That's just my opinion, but you're welcome to disagree. You do you. Have a nice rest of your day my friend.
@@ajwalker4416 You have to do an extensive search before finding an LGBT movie that doesn't end in sadness or tragedy.
I kinda want this trope to be reversed. I want the jock going after the dork
Now that you mention it. Same
Same
Yes please!!
It happened in tha last season of Glee right? I've never seen it again since then.
Yes! That would be cute
The best friend......she's necessary in eybody's life
yea... but she hate eybody
The mom tho...
yerah but she was looking pretty yellow. That makeup was not her color...
I feel like she's a Virgo.
Too negative
Teacher: *walks in a classroom full of 30 year olds* Okay, kids-
PAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Girl that is literally every teenage drama ever the only exception and I would call it the only is victorious where most of them are actual teenagers
I'm impressed by her memory. She remembered the page number as she walked in the door. I can't remember which page of their book that all of my classes are working on.
midoryia what are you doing here 0-0
It's a high school of amnesiacs who think they're still in high school and their therapy is too live through their teen years
The protagonist’s acting was so soft, adorable, and subtly powerful. The actor who played his mother really took it home, too. Great short!
I'm 61 years old and this is the best short film I've ever seen. Only if things were like that when I was in high school
i'm 66 and can totally relate to what you're saying.
well, there is much more on YT alone. I enjoyed this gem today: ruclips.net/video/jdrKMlaMAeM/видео.html
@@granville7 Damn I was just about to give him the same link 😃 Great movie and Better than this one in my opinion.
63 here and really needed this today. I think back to all my high school days. The jocks I wished for, and then to find them out at our 10 yr reunion
omg yes, please!!! it was either torture or a vast, empty wasteland, romantically.
Love the mom! If we all had a mom like her......
Omgg I I wish I had a mom like her Broo exactly feel the same here too
Ugly?
Agreeeeeeeeee 😩😍😍
Sweet story about two young guys just trying to figure it out.
Made me smile....and for once, nobody gets gay bashed or dies at the end.
Things are finally looking up.
Right?
So gay I bet ,gay alert gtfp lil boi
I'm loving watching all these newer gay short films. It seems in the past the vast majority of gay media always had a tragic or depressing ending. In these newer ones, it's great to see the characters have a happy ending. Gay love is beautiful.
The fact that high-school students are played by 30-year-olds throws me off a little. Good short though!
Lol I kept thinking the same thing
I thought he was the teacher lmao
Ikr like I liked the film but it's like please hire actual high schoolers or at most have them be 20-21 and look the part.,,
Yeah, that threw me off a bit too, but it's still very cute. It would have been perfect if they had actors who actually looked the part or changed up the story and setting a bit so the actors fit better.
Someone didn't watch Glee.
I really enjoyed this film. Everyone who worked on this film should be congratulated. 👏🏻👏🏾😀❤️🌈
Hi Josh......i agree with you
@@juancarlos9592 Thank you

I have seen it now several times
Me too......👍👍👍👍👍😍
Yes I totally agree with you my name is chetan from England 🏴 I am gay too
I Just love that kind of mom's who support their childrens no matter what they are.
No matter who they are
This was very enjoyable! The acting was natural and storyline was really cute. I LOVED how this wasn't about a guy coming out to his parents or the school. Seems like that has already been resolved with seemingly positive results. It's tiring to constantly hear storylines centering around a teen coming out and facing adversity because of it. It leaves no room for any other story. I wish there could be more of these!
"You can't negotiate if you don't initiate"
This quote here. 👏👌
Lately, the RUclips algorithm has been showing me a run of LGBT short films. This one is perhaps my favorite thus far. Though, generationally, I'm far-removed from the high school era, watching Andrew's doe-eyed enchantment with Ricky and his athleticism, feelings soaring with any small gesture of nicety, transports me back to that time, as did his body-image issues, fear of rejection, and feeling like a fish out of water around athletics. Andrew's mom and her nuggets of encouragement were gems, and I'm delighted that the film didn't end in tears of sadness.
My favorite line! Fear is temporary! The things that would make you sad now, it would make you laugh in 10 years OMG thank you ma. You just made my day.
"why would I do that" gee because you just grabbed him and said " why the fuck would you think that?" . Still charming little film .
ik 💀💀💀
I thought I was the only one lost
I got scared... then it turned out to be the cutest thing I've seen.
Love that black girl. She’s like “queen”
But how come her face is yellow like that ? Bad make up job ?
She makes the movie!
I thought she looked green...maybe with envy?....LOL
Zajebisty film
Teacher entering room full of 30 yo's: "Okay, kids, turn to page 35".
"...turn to age 35" *
The generic "I'm a teacher" line of dialog.
You're funny. They should have hired me to be an extra, a student. 💪😁💪
I really felt for him when he clenched his fists and braced for impact.
That's the part that stood out the most to me... It sent chills down my back. Straight people really don't understand how much courage it actually takes for an LGBTQ person to come out, or ask someone out.
@@michaelb9554 100% they always compare it with themselves and think it's the same. It's not.

This mom is everything 😍
A gay short with a happy ending! Love it!
that mom and best friend, both good in people’s lives! the one who makes sure you make wise decisions and are careful. and the one who pushes you to get what you want and to take risks. a perfect balance.
The lead actor is really good. The physical acting and facial expressions are right on! Bravo.
Absolutely charming. Puts a smile on your face, when there’s so much to be afraid of.
Thanks for the great comments and follows! Some more projects underway, including a romantic comedy short and a web series in collaboration with fellow filmmaker Shawna Khorasani. If you like Just Ask Him, you'll love Shawna's new film LoverGirl, ruclips.net/video/zUsxTxcOXSk/видео.html
Sounds really great 😌 and her name kinda sounds Iranian
Thannk you Brian
This was really good! My only wish is that every young gay boy out there finds the courage to accept who they are, embrace themselves and put themselves out there and to not be worried about what other people think or how other people feel.
Yah but it's not easy bro that can destroy people who pretend that they love you
@Kyle Stein try! It’s better to have tried than not! No regrets! Lmk! I’m cheering for you!
Perfectly said Christian

Very moving- a gem of a short film, guaranteed to give you a big lump in the throat. I watched it three times and loved it more every time. The actors, the writing and the directing were all genuine and REAL. Loved it!
i love the mom (if that was his mom) so much. she encouraged him to simply just ask. it's beautiful.
Hooray! Finally, a gay short that ends on a really cool note. Would love to see a Part 2 of this . . . ending on an even happier note!!
This made me cry, what a great movie. I love all characters, but Sherri Hellen the mother really took my breath♡
I enjoyed it. Cute and funny! Andrew's mom is a Queen, love her!
Very cute, simple, elegant story, well done by all. I love the contrast between Joelle's skeptical protectiveness (just let it be and then let's get out of this Central Valley hellhole) vs. the grab 'em by the balls lawyer Mom's pushing him to fight and take risks. What differentiates this gay short film from many others is that the kid is surrounded by support from those closest to him; the only thing holding him back is fear of rejection (and a lack of trust in his own Gaydar!). As an aside, I went to high school in the in the 1970's in the Sacramento Valley and was among a handful who managed to escape by going away to college. Gonna guess that this was filmed further south, like outside of Salinas or King City? Again, as someone else said, everyone involve with this project can be proud of their efforts.
I love his mom, she's necessary for every child whether they're Gay or straight and his bestie reminds me of Tori Spelling's character "Donna" from BH 90210. I liked this short! ;)
Gotta love the making out with a soccer ball scene.
imagine if his mom walked in and he had his face buried in the jock boy's jockstrap

“Mexican catholic oh condoms thing” if this is not the most brilliant way to blame both the parents and the religion for an overpopulated family, I don’t know what else is. 🤣💀
Bi gringo only child from atheist parents, and I can still relate.
What would you blame it on?
This is a charming short. Well cast, well acted, humourous and nicely put together. Great work!
I adored this film my goodness 🥰 Everything about it was just so cute! Great job to those who worked on it 💖
Nice short film. You never know when somebody might want what you want. You have to put yourself out there.
can me just take a moment to appreciate how accepting and loving this mom is? like I wish I had a mom like that 🥲
Best supporting actress award goes to BFF face reactions when selling the soccer team coupon 🤣
2024...Back again. I needed a spirit boost!
This mother is a sweetheart, every child should have this kind of support 🥺
I love how his dancing skills is what will affect his reputation. 😂😂 Dude doesn't give to fucks about the homophobes.
Very well realized!!! Loved the cast, story and photography. Go ahead and keep on doing more stuff like this!!! BIG hug!
Witty, funny, positive and a happy ending. What’s not to love. Oh, and the mom absolutely rocks. ❤

This was touching and sweet. Top production values and all around very good.
A really really nice film. I loved it 🥰❤️
Thanks to all of you .
Really wish this was a full length movie. It's just so good. And the mother omg she's AMAZING😍
I'm glad everything worked out & hey he's got a date to the dance, great job 😊💙
Best short i have seen in many years, great acting, great story, as a Latino i get it. maybe because my husband is a farm white boy and im latino from the barrio. Congrats.
This makes me so happy, there are a lot of times I wanted to ask but the fear is always stopping me .
Superbly acted and directed and a great script too! So good to see a positive film about young gays.
I keep coming back to watch this film. Everything about it is uplifting. Wish I could have been lucky enough to meet a Donovan Napoli back in the day.
The soccer scene had me dead.
That was well written and produced. Keep the good work!
This video is exceptionally moving... Great job!
This is only the 3rd Gay short film I've seen. Adorable! Loved it!
6:40 "Why do you think they call me Ninja WhoopAss?" Omg I love her
Really enjoyed this short film. Would love to see a full length movie or serial movie. The actors were great which means a great director and supporting cast. Loved Mom. Reminds me of my Mom. Loving and to the point. Kudos to the actors, director, film crew and all support crew members.
Really enjoyed it, and a positive ending too.
Another very powerful gay-themed short! The longing in Andrew's eyes is so compelling.
So funny and cute! I love that I worked on it. 😄❤️
I could watch movies like these all day every day. Iam just afraid if I would ever run out of these to watch 😍
Great film. A nice pallat cleanser from the last gay short I just watched lol.
LOL. Nice one.
This brought out emotions and a giggle...made me reflect on wishing on a memorable gay youth. 🥰🥲
Nice job Bri. Liked that Andrew faced his fears and it turned out positively for him. I just wish we could've seen them attending the dance together.

i love the mom and the best friend we stan BOTH of them
Apart from the class consisting of students who should appear to be at least 10 years younger, what followed from the point of his in-your-face mother was kinda cute. The acting of that boy was really good.
Best line: 'You ask me to dance, and I am walking out of there. I have my reputation to think about....' That's not the way this would have gone in my day!
all the teen feels come rushing back. Fabulous.
Donovan Napoli is a good young actor. Bright future.
I loved this. Excellent acting! Keep it up!
This is a pleasant short film. I really enjoyed the story.
