      We were talking about Grant Cardon's answer. A lot of people were excited for when JB interviewed him, and Grant seemed defensive and really standing his ground on a few things that were holding the interview from progressing.
      Maybe he wasn't able to get much sleep the night before, who knows. Or maybe it's was just Grant being reflexively defensive.. Since he's so competitive.

    Excellent video on a topic that is often poorly-trained and understood. Rapport, as it pertains to persuasion/sales, has little, or nothing, to do with becoming chummy with someone. What it DOES have to do with is establishing a subconscious connection, or engagement with you, that then allows you to lead your client/customer into a new way of believing, feeling, and acting.

    In my opinion, one of the most important thing in building selling rapports is trying to create rapports that don't appear like something false. Furthemore, i think that a strategic bridge to overcome this difficulty may be the certainty. Through certainty you could transfer to your customer the sensation that not only the product is good, but also you and the whole situation and the rapport between you and him/her.

    Only exception is if indeed you love - and not just like - the same stuff and are very knowledgeable in it. But yeah, you HAVE to get back to the real topic, or you're wasting time. BTW, it's crazy how tonality influences rapport building. Tonality on demand and looping really set the SLS above other sales methods. Not always as easy to teach as I thought though. Some people are indeed "tone deaf". Any advice for these guys and gals? I'm sure you've come across a lot. BTW my biggest issue with my sales team have been having them actually talking to a live person instead of voicemails! So many businesses today don't pick up their phones, I never expected that in all the home service type companies! Talk about lost sales for them.

      Mike, you're not alone... However, that's a scarcity mindset.
      The best sales professionals can recognize techniques being used on them.
      As long as the conversation has genuine content, moving in the right direction... The techniques don't matter. The intention behind the technique is what counts (the best sales ppl do these techniques to learn more about their prospects concerns and worries with the goal of helping to solve them).

    I don't know im I am a "born salesman", but I have never experienced the prospect taking control of the sale. They almost always answer my questions with broad explanations, and they shut up whenever I ask questions or explain something to them. If many salespeople experience prospects taking control of the sale, that must suck haha

    Grunting and groaning are only going to ‘pozisson’ you as phony. A prospect worth calling is one who already has some interest in what you sell or represent. All you have to do is ask them questions that get them to reveal why they’re interested. They will automatically give you the rapport you’re trying to establish. Everyone’s favorite topic of conversation is himself, and the most evil person in the world can be thought of as a true friend if he asks the person about their interests.

  • @dontaesteel6448
    @dontaesteel6448 3 года назад

    Asking smart questions? It seems like you know from experience. The more you show you care, the better the rapport. I suppose that's true. It can be that way in reguard to tonality. Be sure to agree that we can learn new ways to rapport. Just so you guaranteeingly know, the option to show that you care through body language is a way out of other ways to show care. The idea is that it's an effective solution. It can only be important to those that care about rapport. Be sure to have the current advantage in understanding this all. It's not an option to lose control in a sale. Right?

    This is not building rapport in sales, this is letting the person know you are an expert and systematically advancing that process forward. There's no way this applies to enterprise level technology sales when it comes to building rapport. Most of the people I deal with, most that is, are experts themselves, and I've been doing this for 10 years. They know the ins and outs of the solution, the question just boils down to how good of a job you're going to do and cost.
