The adventure included with Death in Space is one of the best rpg adventures I’ve ever played. Me and my players got so into the roleplay and setting that I frequently forgot to call for rolls when I probably should have. Amazing introduction to the game.
Pirate Borg is a beautiful book. I haven’t run it at my table yet, but I’m jonesing to. I did run a one shot of Death in Space a couple of weeks ago with my regular fantasy group. They absolutely loved it and asked if we could mix it into regular sessions.
The Pirate Borg book is just awesome. I leave it out on the coffee table just to flip through the tables 🤘 Thanks for the great breakdown, really thorough!!
I love Mork Borg, and I don't even play TTRPG's anymore. It is a continual source of inspiration for creating heavy doom metal music (which is ironic, since Mork Borg was inspired by doom metal music - circle of life!). The visual aspect of the book is so great - It is the style of game I wish I had when I was playing TTRPGs back in the early 1980's.
Just picked up Orc Borg, it is an amazing Warhammer 40k hack! The adventure at the end is kind of bare bones, you’ll have to add your own content and flavor, but otherwise the book delivers so much in a small booklet. It even gives a fun map hack advice page to use battle maps of any genre.
I ordered in January Morg Borg, Cy_Bord, Into The Odd and Death in Space. I received Death in Space first (still waiting for the others to come) and it's brilliant. The space fighting is a little vague for me but I will need some more play-testing to do. Great video!
@@TortugaDMStudios I’m going to talk a little about it tomorrow night. I think a good portion of the VCG community It’s would be interested in it as well. Again thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Death in Space is my #1 too. It's not only my favorite MB spinoff, it's also in my top five ttrpgs overall. I have a briefcase at the house that contains everything I need, so I can grab it if the house is on fire, and Death in Space is one of the games in that case.
@@VictoryConditionGaming It's criminal, really. Even when I received Cy_Borg and a few other scifi/cyberpunk games recently, I found myself wondering if I would recommend any of them over DiS and the answer was always 'no'.
@@harringtonmartin I mean if people are really into a certain setting I’d definitely recommend that over it, but in general I think Carl and Christian did a great job making DiS it’s own thing despite clearly rooted in MB mechanics.
@@VictoryConditionGaming It's possible I'm a bit biased too, because I prefer slightly more crunch with cyberpunk so Cyberpunk Red is my go-to for that setting.
@@harringtonmartin that’s fine too. I think Cy_borg is one of those products that if people don’t like crunch with their cyberpunk it’s perfect. Me, personally, I’m not a huge fan of lots of crunch so it will be my go to for that setting.
Wild that your number 1 pick, Death in Space, isn't even really a Mork Borg system game. It's got similarities but a lot of differences in the core rules engine.
It’s similar enough though and from the same studio. I feel it’s close enough to be more than a cousin. Pirate Borg definitely adds a lot more as well so that system so it’s hard to kind of figure out where that line is.
Hey Doug, the print version isn't out yet, but Demon Dog by Nightfall Games is pretty amazing, too. BTW, thanks to your video I just ordered Pirate Borg. :)

Totally agree.
That happens to my group all the time when I gm Tales from the Loop with my group.
Thanks for including Vast Grimm on the list!

That’s awesome! Pirate Borg is super fun as well. I hope your players dig it as much as Death in Space.
Love Pirate Borg. I think the Foundry VTT implementation must be one of the best out there.
It’s so good.

Thanks, Rob!

Orc Borg is great! I think it had JUST arrived as of this recording. It’d definitely be up there for Mörk Borg systems if I revised this video.

Thanks, Mantorp!
A new Kickstarter for a Mörk Borg hack called Ronin was just released. You should check it out! It looks pretty neat!
Oh! Thanks for the heads up! I’ll definitely check it out.
And backed hahaha
Haha! I backed it almost immediately too! It looks so good!

It amazes me how very few people are talking about it.

Demon Dog is great. I have the pdf from the Kickstarter already and I’m excited to receive that here soon as well.
And Pirate Borg is really good. Hope you enjoy it.
Also Orc Borg is very fun too if you haven’t picked that up.
Just got the mail and got my copy of death in space and decided to watch this video while opening it. 😂
Sweet! Enjoy! It’s SO good!
Hey Doug - have you checked out Cthork Borg? Lovecraftian cosmic horror meets Mork Borg rules!
I have not. I’ll have to go search for it now.
orc borg is the one you left out
Orc Borg is very good. I just missed. The quality of the printing is so good too!
