- Dan Donahue discovers that his parents' divorce when he was a boy is negatively affecting not only his life, but his potential marriage to Sue, the woman he loves. He writes a very painful letter to his father Mike in an attempt to resolve the estrangement between them, so that he can move forward with his life.

Great movie
This movie has triggered sad memories. My father went away when I was a little girl as well, I wish he was there for me when I needed him, protected me, helped me with school work, feeding me good food, taking me to doctors. My siblings and I were neglected, we are still sad in our hearts, but we look after ourselves and our families the best we can.

Sad film but very vivid portrayal of th toll divorce takes on kids
My father is dying right now over a 1000 miles from me. We can't go see him they will not let anyone around him. I just want to say that I got to spend the last 7 years of my summers traveling with him. We would go out just him and me for the whole summer. Best times of my life. Thank you God for those memories

I was really sorry for your father. I know your feelings because my father died and he was every thing for me.In my opinion there is no real friend except the father.I hope your father will be fine.This film reminded me with my wounderfull days with my dad as it did with you.

These men are selfish and bitter I am so glad mom choice to leave and I am glad he said it isn't good enough he wants better for his self I am glad he wrote this letter finding peace is his purpose and I am glad he worked toward it

Cathy. I’m 62, was 2 times Communist prisoner since trying to escape communist country by boat. I’m also conservative Catholic. I voted for Trump in 2016 which was my greatest mistake in my life. And NO, I will not vote for him again. I will vote for anyone, anyone but Trump.
I can't believe anybody would vote for Trump. He's awful. I'm sure you're a good person, but please open your eyes, he's just a terrible person and he shows it more and more everyday.
