I can hear the passion when you're doing this type of interview while playing guitars (music in general). What I love what you do is that you even tell us what adjustments you have to do, what kind of leaks or flaws when receiving a product and how you made it greater. As a guy like me getting back into guitars and really learn the basics, I was disappointed it didn't sound as great as just receiving it, but very satisfied how detailed you were describing of why the changes were made. Anyways, I got my grandpa's bass guitar fix. it is Gibson Grabber 1976. Since it was limited addition, kept original paint, think I got this name, right? put some coating to protect the frame etc. Anyways, Any tips for someone like me just starting out and picking up a guitar bass again?
Thanks man!! I apologize register the comment! I teach guitar for a living actually and have taught over 1000 students. The biggest thing I would say is it is what you put in. The more time each day you can spend practicing each day the faster you will progress. It’s far superior to practice 15 min everyday than 1 hour 2 times a week. If you’re ever interested in lessons I do offer one on one lessons and they are super interactive and in high def. 🙂

I have a riviera with mini humbuckers. I'm so tempted to get one of these and slap a frequensator on it. The Uptown has firebird pickups instead of regular minis so the poles aren't adjustable but it just sounds so crisp
My pickups (on a high gain preset) make a lot of noise/hum and especially buzzing when lifts in our block move. Doesn't happen with my SG Guitar with humbuckers....any remedy orr fix for the issue in the epiphone uptown kat?
Not all humbuckers are made equal as far as suppressing the hum. It sounds like you're picking up some 60 cycle hum. It would be much worse with single coil pickups presumably... See if the hum gets quieter depending on whether the guitar is parallel or perpendicular to the source, i.e. the lift. I have train cables just outside my building and I've noticed a big change related to where the guitar is facing...
It’s not a bad option either. However the form factor of the Kat with the master volume right by the cutaway make it super nice. Additionally I think the tuners on the Kat are more reliable. I also personally prefer the smaller size as well.
I tried both tonight, I found the Kat felt *way* higher end than the Worn Casino. I did really like the pickups in the Worn Casino tho, they had nice punch and character. The Kat's pickups sounded better to me though.
