  • Blades and blowers are great for large amounts of snow, but nothing gets a surface as clean as a broom.

I am Canadian. I agreed with 100% in your earlier videos about the broom. It is a great addition to a snow removal arsenal.

Had the same snow you did a few days ago in Central PA....used a John Deere power broom on a 3720 to clear our parking lot through out the day as it snowed. The next day where I brushed, it was nice and clean. Where I plowed was just a sheet of ice. Brooms are amazing!

Make a video about getting service from one dealer when you purchased from another.

We use a skid steer for snow removal. Our driveway is asphalt and goes up a hill towards the road. We do the bulk of snow removal with either a skid steer mounted snow blower or snow bucket. Once we clear most of it, we go over it all with the rotary brush otherwise any snow left will get packed & turn to ice making the driveway a total hazard.

I plow and blow snow - I don’t sweep it; I drink rye - not bourbon; I say “eh” - not “huh”; I play hockey - not football; and I AM CANADIAN!
LOL... for those of who who don’t recognize this, I’m just modifying a few lines from one of our famous Canadians , William Shatner (aka James T. Kirk) from a recording he did a decade or so ago as a bit of a spoof!
And for the record, I totally agree that sweeping snow is great for thoroughly clearing surfaces, but if the snow is deep, a broom just can’t throw it far enough and it builds up until the broom literally hits the wall (of snow!)
Great video Neil - keep ‘em coming!

When my brother attended Purdue University from 76 to 80 they used brooms like that, the students called them ice polishers because that's what they do.

First of all... MORE STEINER VIDEOS PLEASE!
Secondly. I agree power brooms are often best. Yes they can "polish" ice on occasion. But a little bit of salt fixes that nicely.

Another good reason to have this for light snow removal: If you're already using the broom in the warmer months to keep walks and such clean, you get year round use out of the tool, and don't have to store a plow too.

Yes us Canadians laugh at you because its ridiculous to think a broom is gonna effectively clear snow. The brushes ice up and wear down quickly. They also end up making black ice so folks save your money and buy a bag of salt!!

Need to stress how too much down pressure on the broom can really shorten the broom life and to always store the broom with no weight or pressure on the broom

Try hitting were it was plowed with a blade or blower before salting. You may think in places you may not need salt or deicer, deice it anyway

What size/width would you recommend for the BX26HP unit? The unit you demo’d, is it aftermarket or in the Kubota lineup?

I'm a little offend by the Canadian comment, just kidding. I have seem tractors with brooms and even a walk behind Gravely with a broom clearing side walks/walkways in Canada. The norm is still to use a plow though then salting.

    • @adamliske
      @adamliske 4 года назад +1

Dave Smith don’t try it unless you want a bare spot in your driveway and broken windows and siding. Just like you can’t use single stage snowblowers on gravel you can’t use brooms.
