It is absolutely mind-boggling to think myself a 22-year-old and my entire life I've never seen a race at North Wilkesboro when I was born the track was in its last leg it was dying being forgotten about and for Dale Jr to do all this get the track back restore it bring it back to its former glory it puts the biggest smile on my face because I have been a Nascar fan since I could remember I want to thank everybody who has been a part of this project for bringing history to the modern era. is is something no one will ever forget. you guys are absolutely legendary. Jr i know your father would be so proud of what your doing to help the sport, to help racing as a whole and keep the community so close and loved. this is what history from the past being revived looks like and also what history being made looks like. and it makes me want to cry to be honest man.
Dale you really made memories for alot of people. Sr was smiling down on you bud. Congratulations on 3 place . 10 laps would made a different out come Appreciate you man
When I first started watching this channel they had the office tv show style interviews and funny office pranks & now to this.. JRM & Dirty Mo Media has grown into a different class of entertainment 👍🏻
Thanks Dale and Markus this track is 1 hour from our home and we will attend. I'm a nascar fan since Cale Yarborough was racing with the Alison's and Petty. We might need some assistance getting to the seats at our age but well worth it. Have fun you lucky drivers and fans of Notth Wilksboro and we'll see you there.
The August 31, 2022 wasn't just a race, it was an experience. I grew up a Nascar fan in the 70s-early 80s, then wrenched on LMS, Busch and some Cup . Visited victory lane many times in LMS, track championships and victory lane in Busch. This race was by far the best (racing) experience I ever felt. Every person in attendance had to feel something. The shy little kid(Junior of course) has become such a major contributor to the sport that may never be matched.
I pray many young race fans will have fond memories just like I do since mine go back to the early 60's and their great drivers like Petty, Earnhardts, Fireball, Tiny, Cal, Pearson, Johnson, Allisons, way to many to name.....If my health doesn't get worse hope I get to see another race here. Thank God I'm a country boy from randolph county in the Tarheel state. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I've said the same sacred names you did many times as I grew upat our local dirt track every Thursday night where Ralph Earnhardt, Jr. Johnson, Cale Yarbrough, Tiny Lund, Fireball Roberts, Lee Petty, Buck Baker and so many others that were literally the class of driver's some of which run moonshine before joining racing and Nascar. It's awesome that FINALLY North Wilkesboro is BACK THANKS TO DALE!!! HIS DAD AND GRANDDAD WOULD BE AND ARE SO PROUD, WATCHING FROM HEAVEN ABOVE 🙏🙏🙏🏁🏆🏁💞🤗💞🙏🙏🙏🙏
If you build it they will come, Jr its good to see you goin back to your roots. Hopefully your able to continue to do it. This was awesome getting to see you after a race on how happy an funny you can be. Just glad to see your able to do what yah love.
I’ve been a JR fan since he raced ASA a million years ago and it’s been incredible to watch him transition into one of the most influential men to ever be in NASCAR. What do ya suppose SR would be thinking or doing today had he not lost his life in Daytona ? I’m positive he’s very proud to be JR’s DAD !!!
It's nice to get a team side perspective for the entire event. Very cool to see how he immersed himself into the field and really just out there having real fun doing what he loves while be really competitive. Awesome. Thanks for taking us all along for the ride!
We just got our racetrack back from the graveyard after 18 years and it’s thriving. Tri City Raceway in West Richland, Wa. This video hit me in the feels real hard. I can tell you, there aren’t any angry fans in stands at the beginning of a grassroots race. So awesome.
Dale Jr. Does more for the fans of Racing than anyone else has done in the last 22 yrs.He is the best ambassador for Racing. Anyone who was a fan of his daddy's or of his will show up to watch him race. Heck I only watch when he gets back into a car. I miss him racing full time. I understand his reasons for retiring from full time .His health and his family. But I sure do miss watching him race. I've been waching him since his start in the Busch year 1. He won 2 championships. Thanks Dale Jr. It will always be a thrill to watch you behind the wheel of a racecar. It is totally awesome that as team owner he got the win and the icing on the cake he finished 3rd.
I am an English guy who has never been to your country let alone a Nascar or late model race! I have had a life of F1 , but my dream of seeing a race night like that in the USA is my childhood dream since watching " The Last American Hero" movie in the 80s. Watching this gave me goose bumps!! I have no words other than I think I was born in the wrong country! What a fantastic film, thank you.
So very thankful to have watched this race, I've been a fan of racing since the 80's and who would have thought my music career would have crossed paths with nascar and the #3 and it was such an honor to be a part of that music video and that song at this historical place❤️I remember thinking way back then in 2010 that the track would get back to racing 😎✌️❤️
Man.. Idk if anyone else geeks out over Jr's aesthetic as much as I do but he looks so god damn badass with those gloves & his custom Stilo helmets. He used to run an oddly shaped helmet back when he first moved to Hendrick & had Adidas gloves, I believe.. Ever since 2013, he switched to AlpineStars fire suit, Stilo helmet & the iconic skeleton gloves. There's just something about that look that turns me into such a freakin' nerd lmao Maybe I'm the only one who feels like this.. Maybe not
Dale Earnhardt Jr thank you Think you for what you done getting north wilksboro open again . like to see Rockingham race track open again.jr your fan always Thomas cates..
I remember filming Sunday drive with Tim Dugger there many years ago. Such a beautiful place so full of awesome history and I hope to return there soon to see a race! ❤️❤️❤️
What an awesome series of videos! Great work! As always Dirty Mo Media hits one out of the park! Dirty Mo and his brand do more for the sport of racing than any other entity! His whole team is truly passionate about the sport and it shows! The Dale Jr. Download is a must listen/watch if you are a fan of any form of racing! Or even baseball or football! :)
My 1st NASCAR race I ever went too, was the Tyson/Holly Farms 400 in the very early 90’s! Myself, and a group of friends from Huntington, Wv (Dixie Thunder Race Shop) came down. Me, Deana Leedy and her crew had a blast. The day I heard Wilkesboro was closing, it brought a tear to my eye. Then the day I heard it was “coming back”, I had those feelings from the 90s again. I didn’t make it for the return date, but I can promise you, I’LL BE BACK as well!
This is what nascar use to be and drivers use to be. Dale jr has inherited the old styles and thinking which i sure miss. I use live in Daytona.since Nascar changed the races were the cars and all the old veterans are gone, I don't watch it anymore. The spirit of Dale and Dale Jr, Bobby and Donnie, Mark, Cale, it's nothing but kids rich kids raised on rich kids tracks and go carts.
Great great great job! Only wish the rescue act could get some funds to revive my favorite dirt track growing up. Challenger Speedway in Jacksonville Pennsylvania. Saw my first 50 lap late model feature there. It’s what really got me hooked on racing!! Great job again guys!
Good to see it back. I can't believe Dale Jr drinks Bud Select 55's, I thought I was the only one. And they are so hard to find in stores. Maybe if he would say he likes em they would be more available.
Really appreciate enjoy the hole content of this rival. I hope there will also be good content for the races in October for the dirt racing and for a new future for 2023.
This has actually re-fired me up to wanting to watch. After Sr. died, I tried to hang on for a few years, but as the gimmicks started, I just lost interest. Return to this kind of racing, you brought an ‘ol timer back.
Found you haven't been Home in a while I remember when Júnior Johnson trying to bring it back and seeing Harry Gant #33 Hope they build some RV parks My family lives around Taylorsville I live in FL
Had season seats there for a long time, Mr Staley was a good owner, remember one year it was cold and we camp at the number three turn, and he came by and put us in side the number one turn against the fence, we watch Dale daddy crew change motor in the number 3 car at night, and it was snowing, my son was a young boy at time, and Sunday race, a older lady was outside and we ask her to sit in camper with us and watch race,
We had my drum set set up in victory lane on top of the building it was hot as f🔥 lol we all look like lobsters for days 😂 we all got sunburned bad lol good times 😎
"Other" sports stadiums have figured this out but the local oval tracks are spotty at best. Put the lights behind the grandstands and have them reflect back to the people paying for the show. Not sure where NW stands in this argument, just felt the urge to vent. It's not a parking lot, its a race track. p.s. Love the "unrestored" vintage vibe.
5/8 mile. Perfect super speedway of a short track. I love that they didn’t repaint the place- I hope they don’t. I hope SRX gets booked in there. It’s way far for me to see a race there in person but there’s too many glitzy tracks with no character
Nashville fairgrounds is the old school track i want see so bad back in NASCAR again so many legends cut there teeth there Darrell waltrip sterling marlin bobby Hamilton jeff and david greene etc.
North Wilkesboro doesn't need NASCAR to come back to survive. With some great promoting they could be stronger than there cup days. Maybe some North South shootouts with modified and one thing there's plenty of in the northeast is late model stock cars. Heck even some street stock touring series would be cool there. Give Cleetus McFarland a burnout pad and he would bring his Crown Vic racing series there.
I prefer old worn out, beat down lookin tracks. Everyone these days wants everything to look brand new & clean. Everyone is so OCD these days & I dont want a track like that. Tracks werent like that in the 80s & 90s but everyone wants everything to "look" pretty when that really doesnt matter to the race.
A little padding in the front and back and you could have a 90 minute special to run before the 2023 All Star Race ..... If I remember correctly you need about 69-70 minutes of content for 90 minutes of broadcast TV .... Maybe a 10 minute segment on how the ALL Star Race at North Wilkesboro came to be
Jr seems like he’s in such a great place in life 👍🏻
The entire sport is so damn proud of you Dale Jr. I'm f'ing crying right now. Win or not YOU brought the sport back home. Back to hollow ground. ❤
My first time and met the nicest bunch of people in my life. A lot of boomers like myself but made the 8 hour drive worth it.
