Dale, I'm an old man and I've watched you literally grow up. I can't imagine the pressure you felt coming up as a driver living in the shadow of a man like your dad. But you did. What I can honestly say is nobody has a bigger heart for racing, real racing like at North Wilksboro, than you do. Thanks for letting all of us see that.

I'm not sure I'd say nobody has a bigger heart for racing, there are a handful I could def throw into the conversation with Jr she talko g about the subject but he def is one of the few that are in that conversation

North Wilkesboro was a special moment - it's true you can't create that - it just happened! Usually you don't see a big star go back to his past and be so successful, plus get to be right there in the thick of things with fans, and people, and the smell of a nostalgic old race track with your old sponsor, plus now ya own the team that won! It was wonderful to see - people love ya June - enjoy this! 😘 🚗 🏁 🍻 Martha in Miami : )

Sad news about October's dirt events but now there's rumors circulating that the all star race is coming back to NC but not Charlotte which can likely only mean one thing. I have a theory on why the North Wilksboro race was so good.... It was as Dale Jr. Said the same as it was in the 80s and 90s. Less red tape and more people not caring and just LIVING IN THE MOMENT!!! If you cant tell by all the mullets and Budweiser we the people wantthe 80s and 90s back! Not only was it the last of its day in the Nascar racing aspect, but life was much more simple and FREE!

A rebirth of a track that helped a whole generation of fans understand the excitement small track racing is all about.

For Dale to realize and acknowledge that the fans showed grace for the imperfections that accompanied the race is very humble and much appreciated. Junior "gets it". I feel like a lot of folks in NASCAR have lost touch a little bit (or a lot) with what its like for fans going to the track. Junior's humility here is so refreshing.
Its kinda like in 2019 when I took my wife and 4 kids to Talladega. We are Kyle Busch fans and were dressed like his merchandise truck threw up on us. Saw Kyle hanging out in his garage stall and he seemed hesitant to come over to sign autographs (maybe he wasn't - just my opinion). I told him "Kyle, our whole family loves you and pulls for you every week. We have been cussed out 5 times, and I almost had to whip a guys ass just walking here because you are not exactly "popular" at this place. Please sign our hats, or at least my kids hats". We struck up a conversation and he signed everything we had and he was extremely nice about everything. It was like he snapped out of "work-mode" to acknowledge what its like for his fans at some of these places. I'm in no way picking on Kyle, but it really feels like some of these folks forget what its like to be a fan at a track when they are in the grind of a season.

Dale you are one of the few people that has the honesty and the integrity that draws people to you with your spirit. You are a mentor to the young racers , and the older generation as well. North Wilkesboro was a great peek back to when racing was more in your face. That will always be the part of racing that makes the Saturday night home town tracks so much fun. Just had that feel but on a larger scale, it was a awesome event . I would encourage everyone to go to a race track in your area and watch some really good Saturday night racing. There are some damn good racers at these smaller hometown tracks . Once you go, you will never stop coming. Give it a try

I made it to the southern 500 a few days later. I can not believe how many of the Sun Drop #3 shirts were at the race. Great to see and proud to be apart of this sport!

Dale and all of Dirty Mo....it was a beautiful night, it was magic, it was simple, it was racing in it's simplest form and presentation. Dale, if it been held in a cow pasture it would have the same. Us seasoned race fans who grew up loving racing were granted a very beautiful special moment again. It was like going to Metrolina as a little boy barely 5 or 6 and handing dad's big strong hand. I was a child again. At Wilkesboro my wife and I laughed, cried lots and screamed like little children for our hero in the Sundrop #3. It has been since mid season 2001 since we went to or viewed a race. Dale the rabid fans like us love you and we're hungry for more. Please Dale....more for us. We wanna be little children holding dad's once more before leave this earth. Thank you from the wife and me.....Bobby

We need this sort of energy in Richmond Virginia trying to save Southside Speedway.

That had to have been cool for people to watch a race from the grandstand with Mike.
    I would enjoy that.

I was in trackside camping, and i told my brother that being there and feeling the energy around the track was amazing! I had more fun being there then i had the 4 years of infield camping at Daytona for the 500! Will definitely be back, waiting for the announcement today!

I felt like Dale didn't want to win and take away any thunder from those guys in that series. A top 3 solidifies talent and that he still has it but a win may feel like poaching on someone else's time to shine and he is too damn good of a guy to steal that away from his guy!
