Lebanon is the old Phoenicia, and the map of Phoenicia is nearly the same map of modern Lebanon. A genetic study suggests that Lebanese share a whopping 98% of their DNA with ancient Phoenicians. Lebanon is mentioned in the Holy Bibks 75 times while the cedars of Lebanon are mentioned 103 times.

Until about the 18th century era AD, most Lebanese (Christians) still spoke Syriac, or Neo-Aramaic. After it was replaced by Arabic, many words were mixed, so the spoken language in Lebanon became a hybrid to a large degree of Syriac and Arabic.

Aramean wasn't an empire or a kingdom or a tribe or a specific people, it is a language which developed from the Phoenician/Canaanite (or an Arabic dialect) which spread all over the Levant and Middle East, it was the lingua franca of the ancient world, the language of the elites and the liturgical and philosophical language of that ancient world. Also it was very close to the southern Arabia Arabic and later Syriac language. For example, Jesus Christ spoke Aramean, and before him the philosophers and most of the elites of the Levant and Persia and Anatolia. It also influenced Greek and Roman languages.

The Lebanese are famous for their prowess in trade and their impressive success in all parts of the world, like their Phoenician forefathers. @sonanio stop talking rubbish they are Ham people you fool.
Flavius Josephus of the Antiquities of the Jews - Book I
Canaan, the fourth son of Ham, inhabited the country now called Judea, and called it from his own name Canaan. The children of these [four] were these: Sabas, who founded the Sabeans: Evilas, who founded the Evileans, who are called Getuli: Sabathes founded the Sabathens: they are now called by the Greeks Astaborans. Sabactas settled the Sabactens: and Ragmus the Ragmeans: and he had two sons, the one of whom, Judadas, settled the Judadeans; a nation of the western Ethiopians, and left them his name: as did Sabas, to the Sabeans. But Nimrod, the son of Chus, stayed and tyrannized at Babylon; as we have already informed you. Now all the children of Mesraim, being eight in number, possessed the country from Gaza to Egypt: though it retained the name of one only, the Philistim, for the Greeks call part of that country Palestine. As for the rest, Ludieim, and Enemim, and Labim, who alone inhabited in Libya, and called the country from himself, Nedim and Phethrosim, and Chesloim, and Cephthorim, we know nothing of them besides their names. For the Ethiopick War, (23) which we shall describe hereafter, was the cause that those cities were overthrown. The sons of Canaan

The Phoenicians gained their alphabet from the Egyptians. You can see the changes over the years from Egyptian hieroglyphs to Egyptian Meroitic script to Pheonician to Etruscan to Roman to English writing.

    • @Alphonso-Libanensis
      @Alphonso-Libanensis 2 месяца назад +3

The Ancient Egyptians gave the honor of the invention of writing to their deity Thot the Scribe who was an imported deity from their sacred Byblos in Lebanon!
Sanchuniaton, the Phoenician priest of Beirut of the Second Millennium B.C., wrote that El founded sacred Byblos the first city and made Thor (Bull) her first king and intermediary between him and his chosen and founding community!
King Thor received instructions from El and Prophet Thor wrote them down as sacred script or hieroglyphics; and sacred Byblos became synonymous with sacred writing and, accordingly, the Ancient Europeans named the Christian sacred scriptures the Bible, and the Ancient Hebrews named the first books of the Bible Torah referring to Thor the prophet and the First Law Giver of the first and sacred city of Byblos!
The Ancient Egyptians referred to Lebanon, not Egypt, as God's country, just like the Sumerians did, and the early Pharaohs dressed up, officially, like bulls, with horns and tails!
The word Alphabet is composed of alpha and bet; alpha in Lebanese is alif which means bull or thor and which is in itself an indicative signature referring to the people who invented this writing and alphabetic system; in other words, alif and Thor are Lebanese words and not Egyptian!
The Alphabet is the greatest invention ever for its simplicity and efficiency, and its true developers would never assign to it foreign words and symbols!
Lastly, the Old Testament says that God felt jealous of the Phoenicians who had an exceptional genius, and ancient Arabian historians maintain that the Egyptian pyramids were built by the exceptional Phoenicians who also had build the Temple of Salomon; and, if anything had aroused the alleged jealousy of God, it would have to be the discovery of the very simple Phoenician Alphabet!

Thor is as old as Byblos, the first city in the world, according to the Phoenician historian and priest of Beirut, Sanchuniaton and Philo of Byblos!
Byblos is also the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world!
Thor could very well go back in history to the very important and pivotal Mesolithic Age, which means going back more than 10,000 years!
The earliest discovered alphabetic writing goes back only between 3000 to 4000 years!
And, since the alphabetic writing system is the most developed of all writing systems, including hieroglyphs, then, it is more correct to say that Thor had invented the sacred writing system that preceded the Alphabet, till we discover evidence to the contrary that the Alphabet is as old as Byblos!
The person who started the Alphabet with the letter alpha might have been crediting Thor (or Bull, or aliph) with this greatest of inventions; and, who knows what the future might hold in new archeological discoveries!
We definitely need a new and sharp breed of Lebanese archeologists to continue to develop, uncover, and protect our priceless and glorious Lebanese history just like the Bible does!
