- Got a cool video here,😎 Beautiful Day watching trains in San Timoteo Canyon. The interesting thing today was a Z Train going by, with a mid-train DPU's horn just going on and off blaring as it goes by!
I heard the engines horn still going hours later while mechanical was taking a look at it so I don't believe a transient was riding in there, but anythings possible!
DPU is "Distributed Power Unit" meaning it is remotely controlled via radio signals from the engineer at the head end of the train.
Starting out, we see an Eastbound Z Train climbing Beaumont Hill thru El Casco, passing the MTUMC - Manifest from Tucson, AZ to Montclair, CA and the conductor giving a roll by.
Later we fly over to Hinda a couple miles up the Canyon and get some Great views!
Thanks for watching! 😎
Absolutely spectacular work.😊
Thank you!
Nobody Does it better. Great eye in the sky shots. Really like to hear The Train sounds and dispatch... Nice Train Laine..😂 Keep up the good work...

A job well done 👏🏿
Thank you very much!
San Tim used to be my shortcut home.
Cool! Definitely great for a scenic drive. Thanks for watching!
The conductor was a bit late in stepping down for the roll by.
Thanks for watching!
Whew, a run-away horn on a locomotive. Such a waste of precious air. God's speed to the poor compressor. Keep working, little compressor, we need you to keep the train line charged up. We don'want to squander all of our air on this hill. I know you are trying so hard, and you're doing a great job, just a few more miles to West Colton, and you you can relax!
Ah, the characters are so seldom appreciated in the many ways they contribute to a good run.
No doubt about it there big dog Glenn
It’s the red wire.😅
@corycampbell9811 Haha, no kidding, could've made a whole movie scene, cut the wire!
Maybe the DPU is haunted 😅
@corycampbell9811 😅😅 I was thinking that, I was gonna put ghost dpu haha 👻

What is the range of the drone? Distance wise?
@corycampbell9811 farthest I've gone is 2 miles with no obstructions. But you start getting trees in the way, etc, and you can start losing signal with the controller.!
So I usually keep it within 1 mile and more often within half a mile.
