I just started a Lighthouse scenery using water soluble graphite, last night! Those Faber Castell Aquarelle, have become my alltime favorite pencil for sketching/drawing!

Funny how little accidents turn out.I love the effect they give in the paintings you showed. The moody sky in the Lighthouse painting and the chair in the kitten. However although they may not yet when using water ,I think I would still be tempted to seal them afterwards when they are dry for storage to keep them pristine.I too never liked charcoal at all,I had a lot of bad memories of learning how to use it at school, even using it as a pencil to create a picture. So messy and it got everywhere. Before posh pencils I might add too lol!.But this looks fun and worth a try 🥰

Yes I imagine, with water added it just changes everything, a month ago I didn't even suspect charcoal was water-soluble

Love it. Breaking boundaries, exploring new territory. I just received my watercolor graphite set last week and have to restrain myself from buying more goodies until I am more consistently using what I have. But so much fun to see the possibilities.

I remember getting them when I started making art 3 years ago.
I was amazed at how good I felt when I used them even though my drawings were not so good as I just did what came into my mind🙂
And a bit later I did a couple of tutorials with them and oh my, they're so amazing!❤

Well, your brilliant way of selling a product, talked me into purchasing the Derwent XL Charcoal Blocks and I love them. So, now I'm ordering these. I tried to place a piece of art as my thumbnail profile pic, but google is being weird. Thank you so much.
