Although I knew that my pencils were watercolor pencils, I always used them dry because of my disliking for watercolor so I always used them like a regular colored pencil and I like a lot using them like that but since 2020 or 2021, I have been liking watercolor more and more and I got super interested in doing watercolor like pieces and so I have been buying watercolor brush pens like from staedtler and ecoline brush pens. In terms of real watercolors I already had my Winston and Newton watercolor 12 pan set ajaha. Then I remembered my pencils were also aquarellable so I have been binging watercolor pencil tutorials to not make any mistakes awhile using them as watercolor. I still need to do my first full illustration all made in watercolor pencils but I have been practicing and it looks very promising! Having fun so far, I even bought more colors open stock this week since my pencils are the Caran d'ache Supracolor Soft haaha
I've been using inktense on canvas bags I'm working on my third and largest one presently, thanks for sharing your tips and talent with the rest of blessings.
Great video! 🙀 Two things that make it truly amazing: 1. When you activate the paint on Aragorn’s hair, it’s MAGIC 🪄. The fact you’re using strokes that follow the shape of the hair strands made it so that a mush of pencil marks magically turned into beautifully defined and shaded hair strands! That was so incredibly satisfying to watch and illustrates your point so well (that strokes following the underlying shape really improve the rendering) 2. The tip about starting activating on the lighter areas is a GAME CHANGER. Indeed when you start at darker areas you risk pushing surface pigment into the lighter areas. While this happens with watercolor pencils, it’s even more pronounced with water-soluble graphite pencils! 😺
Ohhhh I love the Middle-Earth vibe :))) I have to admit, when I tried watercolors for the first time, I planned to make art inspired by Middle-Earth. A few years have passed, and I have never painted a scene. I am still scared of making bad art, because Tolkien's world is so precious to me... My favorite character from the books are: Glorfindel, Aragorn, and the Nazguls (so scary!), and from the movies: Aragorn, Eowyn, Eomer, Legolas, Gandalf. Thank you for sharing your art process and many informative advices of using watercolor pencils :)
TKY for your advices with direct demonstration! You are very pleasant to heard your soft voice ans not irritating one! I love your chanal for this reason! 😊
That was amazing! Thank you for the video. I use watercolor pencils ALL the time and love. I also insist on a higher quality. I do a lot of pieces for nurseries and children's rooms so I do more whimsical work. I wish i could show you. ❤
thank you for showing this technik and teach us to handle the watercolor pencils. I appreciate you videos bc I love colorpencils and with watercolor pencils I have one option more. I love arwen.
@@paintingandchocolate well I’m subscribed to your channel and I very much look forward to seeing more of your work as well as tutorials. I wish I could share some of my art with you done with water color pencils
Lovely Video Francoise!! I am really curious to know ... why dont you do a video about " My first youtube income" I hope you dont mind answering a question like that. A lot of us are really curious to know how long it takes to get monetized and if the income is good enough for taking it up full time. Whats your experience with it.
@@paintingandchocolate I do find in other niches people making video on RUclips income , but art nich seems a bit silent about it. I thought I would just suggest you 😇
