I owned a 2010 103 ci Triglide and now own a 2019 114ci Triglide. The difference in response and handling is by far much better on my 2019 Triglide. My wife rode the 2010 103 ci Triglide to Gettysburg, PA from St. Louis after I had Bourbeuse Valley HD install a hydraulic clutch--the manual was sloppy shifting up and down through the gears and the hydraulic clutch made that much easier for her as it is more sure to shift in and out of gears. I was glad to see it standard on our 2019 Triglide. The pickup on the highway ramps is excellent with the 114. It is a notable improvement over the 103. I am quite pleased with the purchase and my wife is also. As to an "old man"--I am 72 and still run 12 miles a week with ease. I like the Triglide on the highways as it simply is more relaxing than my other motorcycle and does provide more visibility to other drivers. My other motorcycle is a Road Glide Special which I enjoy riding as well. I would recommend test riding a Triglide on local roads and then on the freeway. To truly appreciate the difference is a good measure for you to use in deciding.
We traded in our '18 Ultra Limited for a '19 TriGlide. First trip out on the TriGlide my wife and I had to ride in about 100 miles of rain all the while riding the twisties on US550 from Ouray, CO to Durango, CO. After riding the TriGlide on the wet roads I was much happier that I was on 3 wheels then 2 wheels. Sure it would be easier to handle 2 wheels on the switchbacks but this thing really rocked the mountains. Oh, and we had about 300 miles on the clock when we took this trip so it was also a break-in trip. Thanks for the great video.
I'm 21 and sadly have nerve damage in my hips, lower back, and legs preventing me from riding 2 wheeled bikes. Causing pain and spasms when balancing through turns. this bike is made for me

Just bought a 2008 Harley Tri glide yesterday. I’m 50 years old and was looking to buy my very first motorcycle. It’s got the reverse lever down by the right foot pedal. Absolutely love it,especially for my skill level, when I’m on it,I feel like I’ve been riding for years! Very easy to operate
"Me and My Wife LOVES the way it rides on the interstate at 70-80 mph.in the rain and dry, rough conditions!" We own a 2019 Tri-Glide,Midnight Blue/Barracuda Silver!" Much Love Matt for an awesome demonstration ,thanks for all the valuable info you posted!" It helped me a lot!"Awesome Videos!"I am a truck driver and a ride on the trike after getting out the semi for being out for 3 weeks is the most stress relief here on the East Coast,Trying to get me a load on the West Coast so I can get me a Flat top Harley West Coast cap!"I am a big fan!" As a teen I ran parts for a Packard dealership on a HD 45 ci Servi Car trike with a hand shift. This was nothing but fun all day long. It was the best job in the world and I loved riding that trike around the city.
Great video again Matt on the new 2019 Tri Glide. I am from the UK and decided to get the 2018 model Tri Glide last march after riding motorcycles for over 40 years going on your in depth review and riding demonstration of the 2018 model. Don't regret getting a Tri Glide and find it superb and the luggage capacity is excellent and feel a lot more comfortable and confident on the road
I promised my wife if I get through my cancer treatment I would buys a Harley Davidson trike, i got through it but 2 years later my wife had a breast off through the same horrible disease so our dreams were dashed we will never afford one but at least we are in remission now for 5 years but we are still here to dream
I have this very same 2019 Tri Glide, same beautiful paint scheme. Can't say enough good about it. However my upcoming back surgery will make have to sell it. Only 1523 miles on it with 7 year extended warranty included. Anyone interested can email me blairanddonnasboy@gmail.com. Paid $40,000, asking $30,000. You won't find another one this nice for this price. Located in central PA.
Matt, I enjoy your reviews of the Tri Glide. I bought a 2017 two years ago and love it more everytime I ride it. I'm 63 yrs old, I started riding two minibikes at age 9, and have more than a few decades under my belt on two wheelers. Before buying, I rented a 2017 Tri Glide for three days and took it on a trip up to the White Mountains. Having a few years on some real nice BMWs, I gotta say the first day I hated it. I decided to toss my expectations and let the Trike be what it was designed to be. The second day I warmed up to it, and on the third day I really learned to love it. Renting one is a great idea to really get the feel of what the trike is. I've seen a few customers take a short test ride, and just not like it well enough to buy one. It took me a few hundred miles before I could make that decision. Of course the Dealer applied all of my rental money to the purchase price of the Trike that I bought. It was like a free three day test ride. Thanks for the vids.
@@jwright1776 Hi Jaden, I have never towed a trailer with any bike but I've seen many trikes towing them and they appear to be very stable. One consideration is your warranty, Harley Davidson will void your warranty if you tow with your bike/trike.
EXCELLENT video - Very helpful! Although I am 75, I still have no physical needs and can still handle my FLHTK Ultra Classic Limited, but have always been interested in the Harley Trike. It is now 2023 and I recently test drove a 2019 Harley Tri-Glide at a local dealership (After many years of 2 wheel riding). I never owned or rode a trike before, so it definitely was "different", but I actually enjoyed it - Just relax and try not to overthink it. I did end up buying the bike, will be picking it up soon and hope to have many years of trouble free, fun riding.
Just picked up my 2019 trike in midnite blue and barracuda silver and Harley out did themselves this year. Couldn’t be happier w all the changes made. Awesome piece of machinery.
Another great video, Matt on triglides. Wife & I traded our 10 & 11 trikes on a pair of anniversary 18's. Harley has made great upgrades over the years. The traction control would be nice in the rain & running upon peagravel on the road roundin' a switchback. After both of us riding 2wheelers all our lives these Triglides are great. In the wind as we enjoy retirement.
Just found this video and thought I would add my two cents. As a long time Harley owner and a former Tri-Glide owner here are my thoughts. I am 69 yo and have ridden motorcycles since I was 7. I owned several Ultra Classics and toured extensively on them with my wife. I had done several Posse Rides with HOG and enjoyed everything. But as I aged I found it became difficult to balance the Ultra, especially two up. So in 09 I bought a Tr-Glide.I loved it and between 09 and 2016 I logged over 120000 miles on it. Road route 66 end to end twice, across the US three times coast to coast and across Canada and any more places in between. Then in 2016 it was time to replace the trike, I was at Americade and took a test ride in a Polaris Slingshot and decided that day to trade the trike in for the Sling! Now I do NOT hate Harley, they make excellent bikes, but for 10K less I got a vehicle that will do everything the Trike did for less $$. I know a Slingshot is NOT a motorcycle I accept that, but I can get "almost" he same open air experience in the Sling as on the trike. You mentioned the Trike handles like a go-cart, well that is true, but the Slingshot handles like a Go-Cart on steroids! So to all those aging riders who still want to experience the joy of the open road, carve turns, and generally turn heads wherever you go, I would highly recommend at least taking a test drive in a Slingshot. You may be impressed.Have fun and ride safe.

Bought the 110th Anniversary model Tri Glide, the first trike but 8th Harley I've owned throughout my life. Best motorcycle I've ever owned, and It'll be the last one I own. Love the hell out of it. I'm a bachelor and my lady passengers love the hell out of it too. I like the added safety feature of cage riders slowing down to check it out when I'm on the road. I would rather have them do double takes and notice me than to not see me at all.
Brought my Tri Glide home yesterday. First time on a trike. This video was very helpful in explaing the Tri Glide, what to expect in the ride and the pluses of the design. I noticed several of the things you mention. Thanks.
I really enjoy your videos, and especially this one as I have the 2018 Trike Glide and I absolutely love my bike. I'm only 36 years of age and have drive 2 wheelers for about 12 years now and I think I prefer the trike. Sure somethings I miss like the handling around the bends on a two wheel but love how much more relaxed I am on the trike, no worry about handling in the rain or if you hit lose gravel. Ideally I would like to own both two wheeler and Trike but don't think I'll be without a trike again. Thanks again for your awesome videos.
Not ashamed as a new rider working in Ems and 911 I never wanted a bike fell in love with my 2020 Tri glide made me feel safe on the road. I am 28 too I don’t give a shit what people think. Enjoy your riding
Hey Matt …. always enjoy your videos … Last May (2018) (during my 70th year), on a multi-day 5-State road trip on my 2017 Street Glide, I returned home convinced it was time to buy a Trike. I had never ridden a Trike before but I purchased a 2018 HD Trike Ultra Glide with some reservations. After a short learning transition I absolutely LOVE the trike. I initially missed the out-of- the-gate torque so I added a HD Stage I Heavy Duty breather, Vance & Hines performance pipes AND the HD Stage II Torque upgrade. Problem solved !!!! Got plenty of torque, and the cam gives the motor the HD lope sound we all love about HD. Since May 2018, I have put 10,000 miles on my Trike and love it more every day !! As you said, "It is a BLAST to ride!" and despite its weight and more bulky appearance vs a two wheeler it is surprisingly quick, agile, EZ touring 70 - 75 mph all- day-long ride and it has a reverse. Finally your review of the Trike was spot- on, THANKS !
Tri Glide is one heck of a trike and this is a really good review for a potential buyer...I’ve been around trikes since the Lehman trike kits and this trike Is the best.
These videos by Matt Laidlaw should be required viewing before anyone talks crap about the Motor Company. The amount of ignorance on the internet is astounding. Keep up the good work Matt.
Matt.... I couldn't agree more. I rode one at an HD demo event and the trike is the most enjoyable touring ride... I don't know how to explain it but it's totally relaxing, you are left to enjoy the surroundings rather than focusing on riding; it's awesome! To the naysayers, try one first at least, they coroner like a slot car! If I ever could afford 40k to go touring I'd own one of these first. To add: I really enjoy extreme cold weather riding to include sub-freezing, icy gutters, wet paint stripes, off camber wet steel grating (construction zones) etc., will never be a problem on one of these. That kind of reassuring feeling is worth a thousand words... just try one guys, and put aside any attempts at trying to look cool for a moment to appreciate the ride! That's my 2 cents👍🏽
Ken I first drove a trike when I was 26, it had a VW engine, jock shift 4-speed, springer front end. Indeed it was a blast and yes I found it more relaxing and better for touring than a 2-wheeler. I later owned many 2-wheelers, many different brands. Now that I'm a lot older a trike is probably my best option.
Matt, I rode a 2017 and a 2019 this weekend there is a BIG difference you can really see after getting off the 2017 then getting on the 2019. 19 steers MUCH easier and corners way better! The 114 seems custom made for this beast. Nice and throaty pulls MUCH better, my 107 on the 17 was pinging as well. Braking better, suspension better boom much better. I will be getting a 19 or keeping my 14, we couldn't get together on that 17, the 19 is only a few thousand more. Well worth the extra for a LOT more trike! Harley has now taken the solid axle Lehman as far as it gets. One good ride on this locomotive and you'll be hooked as I was. Kudos to HD on a GREAT upgrade package!
I have a red/ grey 2019 Tri-glide Ultra and love it. It's a beast for me since I have never ridden before and it's my first bike. Very comfortable ride too! I ride everyday regardless of the weather, except rain.lol
Having ridden several trike options available for HD's, I'll try and break down my thoughts on the Tri-Glide model. My first real intro was when my father, due to illness, had to stop riding on two wheels. At the time, trike kits were few and far and they were quite expensive. A decision was made to add a voyager kit to his 2002 Electra Glide Standard. The kit certainly fills a niche and gets those needing extra assistance into a more stable platform with little modifications to the motorcycle itself. The FLHT was a rough ride after adding an extra two wheels and weight and I'd never really consider the voyager kit a long term solution for someone looking to eat up highway miles. This is more for your weekend rider who just wants to maybe ride to local events and still enjoy the brotherhood of the motorcycle community, but can't do so on two wheels. From there, we upgraded to a Motor Trike kit, complete with electric shift and reverse gear. All things considered, it was a better kit, obviously involved a lot more modification to the FLHT and turned the bike into a true trike. The ride was "better" but still was a little rough around the edges. Over time, the air shocks would always leak and bottom the rear of the trike out when parked for any length of time, the reverse gear (though it didn't have the noise most of you associate with the new electronic reverse), was a true PITA to operate and for older bikes, the extra weight of these kits just really made them feel like a school bus and it tended to really hamper MPG and heat was an issue. Fast forward several years after that modification and enter into the 2016 Tri-Glide. I was the first to ride it 160 miles home from the dealership and boy what a joy it was. Compared to the other "kits", you learn a true appreciation for something that is purpose built. Everything was where it should be and it was made specific for this particular model. The Tri-Glide was a true Cadillac compared to the other kits mentioned. You also gain an appreciation for this on another level, as I'd certainly say the ride is far better than even some of your 2-wheel counterparts in their "low" versions or 12" shock configurations. The Tri-Glide is effortless in adverse weather, inspires confidence in those who would otherwise not have the ability to be on the open road and is a worthy investment for anyone who needs a machine such as the Tri-Glide. In our 2016 version, we have the 103HO motor, which I feel is lacking when you strap on the extra 300+ pounds of the trike kit... however, for those looking into the 107" or the new 114" Tri-Glide models, I think you owe it to yourself to check them out and give them a fair shake down. Though it's not two wheels, Harley has done a fantastic job at giving consumers a long term, viable solution to the growing problem many face when they can no longer stay on just two wheels. Great video review of the new Tri-Glide!!
if you wanted to do it right you would have got him a Goldwing with a CSC trike kit. triking a hardley is like any everything, hardley. less than what you'd paid for and expect
Excellent video with all the detail anyone could need. I just purchased a 2019 Ultra Glide Trike in the exact same color as the one you reviewed. I pick it up on Saturday and the wife and I can't wait ! Thank you for all the great H D videos. Keep them coming !
Another great review Matt! We are still very happy with our 2014 Tri-Glide. Some extras l added are highway pegs, rear view mirror extensions, 3-m type invisible protection sheets to the front and top of the wheel wells, to protect from rock chips and gravel and a HD luggage rack on top of the tour pack. As l have mentioned in the past, l feel for the price of the Tri-Glide, HD should include, at least heated grips, and the luggage rack as standard equipment, like which is included with the HD Ultra Limited, which costs less than the Tri-Glide. Thanks for sharing. Safe Travels.
Thanks for the awesome review Matt. I've been looking at a HD Trike since 2019, had a medical setback, but always keep looking. This was the best information i have received, and your review of the mechanicals of the trike was a plus. So glad i found your channel, I am now a subscriber (under my business and personal email). Thanks again.
Needing reverse gear might be "rare" but when you need it you REALLY need it. Trying to push that behemoth backwards up the slightest incline by hand would be ridiculous if not impossible!
I’ve owned a FreeWheeler before. Handled much like an off-road ATC style bike but built for the street with lots of power. Super fun to ride and along with the Tri-Glide Ultra, it is a blast to ride and own regardless of whether you have a “physical need” to move to a trike or not. They’re both great bikes for a lot of reasons and I’ll have another in my stable for sure. Thanks Matt!
Matt - excellent review of the Tri-Glide. I live in the UK & have 3x 2 wheel bikes, but have taken 3 touring holidays in the US in the last few years and rented a Tri-Glide each time. Never had so much fun and had the added enjoyment of bringing my wife along too - first time as pillion was on the trike. Not sure the UK roads are as suited to the Tri-Glide as the US ... but thinking about it!
Hi Matt ... I did a little freeze frame of your video... and the gentleman who advised you on the tech of the tri-glide id DAVID DEL VECCI ... Hope the info helps.. Great video as always...Cheers
Excellent in depth video! This is my next HD purchase, 2019 brings new tech to the street. I’ve ridden Wing conversions, tested the Can-Am and the forgotten Thoroughbred (not a fun ride). Currently own ‘09 Ultra Classic (2 wheels) and an ‘07 Roadster. See what 2020 brings to the TG. Keeping the Roadster, the Ultra will be replaced with the TG. Not easy to wait but I’m sure there will be a couple of bumps in performance by the time I pull the trigger and write the check. With 2 hip replacements and a 29” inseam I’m still managing the Ultra just fine but that trike is calling!
Lots of great upgrades to this years trikes. In my club we have three trikes. They look fun as hell to ride. But for now I will stick with my FLHTK,FLSTC and Xl1200. But I am 65 and who knows in 20 years I would definitely ride one with pride
I was hoping you would test the ABS by mashing the rear brakes at low speed. Also, I wanted to know if the trike is powerful enough to do a burn out or wheelie.
Impressive Matt / thanks for ur attention to detail on description & running details/ dampner on front end / adjustments to rear shocks / how too / storage space / music/ just love it all. Thanks MATT⁉️WILLY CA 😎👍🙏👍🌎🇺🇸☠️⚡️🔥🌹
Yep what he says it is a fun bike mine rides like a lumber wagon but i love thats part of the thrill of riding whether it be a trike or motorcycle feel the ride lovin every minute of it
How about a stake bed with optional side racks? It could also use a draw bar for pulling ground drive implements, such as a grain drill or side delivery rake.
I’m 24 and my gf is 23. We both ride harleys and are perfectly capable on two wheels. However we’re that odd buyer who wants a trike just because we want something that we can tour around the country in comfort. We’ll always keep our two wheeled bikes however.
That beautiful motorcycles I had one in the first model year really takes a lot of getting used to ride e-trike traded in a year later take care of thanks for the video
Thanks Matt for this excellent video. I always wondered about some things and maybe having to switch over in the not so distant future. This made me more comfortable with that idea. Keep them coming Matt. You are doing a great service for Harley Davidson and its lifeblood.
Thanks for the review Matt. Love watching your videos. In 2015 my husband and I purchased a new 2014 Triglide. We live overseas so please let me advise your viewers that HD's for export only are not built with the same specs as those sold in the USA. Who would ever think a triglide would come without a headlight? Plus, there are no maps for the navigation system in the country where we are living. When you pay almost twice the USA price for a trike you would think it would be built to the same specs. There are no reviews for HD sold in Asia.
Problem with that is turning riding at night u want the head lights to turn with u on those back roads . Be kinda dangerous to have a blind spot at night
Just signed up for the Harley academy but first spot isn’t until Oct. Gives me more time to research but as of right now my first bike might be this one. Thanks for the detailed vid!
I wish Harley would get into electronic suspension like you see in some other premium touring/cruiser. Nice to push a button for number of passengers and bags. Then push a button for touring, street, and sports. The computer makes hundreds of calculations per second for rebound and compression. Nice finally traction control. Harley so close to Stability control and IMU which would really help a trike. Stability control mandated in cars beginning 2012. Love the trike!
Stability was mandated in SUV/trucks cuz so many rollovers with high center of gravity vehicles. Stability control helps, in an emergency, if drivers inputs have too much oversteer or understeer which would cause a rollover. This tech would help the safety of the trike with older riders.
Actually watching the tech explain things, it sounds like it has stability control as it does have an IMU which monitors pitch, roll, and yaw and can control throttle control of torque as well as TC. And ABS. Wonder way he did not just say motorcycle Stability control with 6 axis IMU. Stability control is offered in all high end KTM, Ducati, and BMW usually by Bosch MSC 9.1.
Very good Matt.excellent video..a few dealerships have closed down in Florida..Im looking for a Trike..take trips alot to Ohio and Pittsburgh..Trike would be ideal. Great commentary. The bike looks great. Perhaps a bit quiet? Or maybe the newer bikes are not as loud :-) Loved the video. Thanks! (My next HD will have to be a Trike. C'est La Vie!
Very informative but could you do a comparison between the HD triglide and Honda GW trike. I'm torn between the two. That's if it's not a conflict of interest
Good video Matt. I know usually your videos kind of long but in this video you have definitely covered all areas involving the Tri Glide I've been looking at 1 myself I want to test ride one .they look like they can be a lot of fun but over all great camera angles great video content. You covered this thing very well appreciate it stay safe. Peace.
A news release says the inaugural event will take place at multiple venues throughout the Milwaukee area on July 13-16, 2023. Riders, enthusiasts, and fans are invited to meet in Milwaukee for a huge celebration.
Trikes take away the best part of riding with a buddy. Riding side by side. Nothing better than two bikes hitting the twisties (or any road) and keeping tight formation.
Great video Matt, I have a Freewheeler and luv it, traded in my street glide (loved it too)... I tell people that ask it's like driving a go-kart on steroids, has all the power I need. Maybe do a review on the Freewheeler for us, thank Matt
If Harley had a DCT engine option in this, I think id pick this over the goldwing trike. Hondas goldwing dct auto is just that extra perk that I love. I hate changing gears on anything period.
Just curious, I own a 2018 TriGlide, is it worth the price to convert to the new rear suspension as opposed to the air ride suspension, or should I just give it another couple lbs of air? For those that may want to buy a 2018, the brakes work very well, there is plenty of power with the M8 107, and the verdict is still out on the suspension. Very nice video, Matt.
Curt Donner No, I don’t think the new suspension is dramatic enough to trade in a 2018 for a 2019. Just watch your PSI on your shocks. Don’t downgrade to a thinner seat. The stock one has good padding.
@@MattLaidlaw what about just upgrading the rear suspension on the '18? I see the MoCo has an upgrade available to upgrade the rear suspension to the '19 version. I don't see an upgrade for the forks though.
Tri looks like fun. Matt, could you do a video on trading in a bike vs selling my bike out right. The steps on buying a new bike vs buying a used bike from a dealer.
Hey Matt, Thanks for the detail review. Upgraded suspension, hydraulic ABS and traction system is big + and getting sophisticated like modern automotive. I wish H-D bring sidecars back, that would be really really nice 👍🏼
Why aren't sidecars safe and practical these days? They are more stable than a two-wheeler and let you convert between two wheels or three. Very practical. What am I missing?
mat as a rider who cant ride 2 weels any more doto bad lungs and loss of strangth in my hands would you say this would be a good investment to keep me on the road and in the wind ??
That's so cool! I wish I have one of those. No matter how I tried, I just can't learn how to balance a regular motorcycle 😭😭😭. At least I think I can drive that, just wishing!

And it's not health or old man issue..I can ride anything..the secret to fun on the trike? Ride it aggressively! Body English on the turns..people look laugh n take pics n vids..wicked cherry..gorgeous torque monster
It’s in my long term plans to either purchase or build a trike. I think they could be made to be a badass hot rod Harley. Having said that, the one thing I can’t get past on the stock triglides is the wheel size ratio. I think the rear wheels being either same size or even slightly larger is just off. A smaller rear wheel set with a gearing set up to handle them would be perfect. JMO. Also I love Matt’s new word of the day “wirelessness”. Can I incorporate that in to my vocabulary? 🤣
Superb video Matt! I am waiting on delivery of mine in the UK. Just one question... the other rider who was test driving the trike.. I noticed a green flashing light in the centre of the speedo. Its probably something obvious but at this moment I can't think what it is. Its around 24 mins and 14 secs in ok
@@MattLaidlaw Thanks Matt! I should have twigged cruise control. I will figure out how to switch it on when the trike finally arrives. Gonna be a long wait I suspect.

I was glad to see it standard on our 2019 Triglide. The pickup on the highway ramps is excellent with the 114. It is a notable improvement over the 103.
Yeah so you didn’t actually buy a motorcycle.

As a teen I ran parts for a Packard dealership on a HD 45 ci Servi Car trike with a hand shift. This was nothing but fun all day long. It was the best job in the world and I loved riding that trike around the city.
I remember a dealer dropping off dad's car that way in the fifties.
I've been riding since I was a kid and for some reason I've always wanted to ride one of these trikes.
May the Lord keep an eye on you both,
Get well soon man I pray to God.
Hope you're well.
Would a trike be good for towing a little motorcycle trailer for extra gear?
Most thorough review of a Tri-Glide Ultra I’ve ever seen. Thanks again Matt. Ride safe...
Haha. Yes those get a lot of looks. Thanks for the comment.
Brought my Tri Glide home yesterday. First time on a trike. This video was very helpful in explaing the Tri Glide, what to expect in the ride and the pluses of the design. I noticed several of the things you mention. Thanks.
I don’t mean this in a bad way. When I need an afternoon sleep I put your podcast on and drift right off. You have a lullaby voice.
Jarett Rugg thank you. I value your comment as an owner of a tri-Glide. Thanks for weighing in.
Thank you very much. I’m going to pin your comment because I like when actual owners give their experience and opinions. Thank you for the comment.
Tri Glide is one heck of a trike and this is a really good review for a potential buyer...I’ve been around trikes since the Lehman trike kits and this trike
Is the best.
Thanks Aggie
Life is funny Matt you get a trike when your a kid and then
A trike might be your last bike 😇 circle of trike ownership lol
I've been riding two wheels for 53 years I just got a trike a week ago and it is awesome way to go
Nice man. Enjoy.
These videos by Matt Laidlaw should be required viewing before anyone talks crap about the Motor Company. The amount of ignorance on the internet is astounding. Keep up the good work Matt.
Thank you. The misinformation on the internet is one of the reasons I started in the first place.
Congrats on 60th year Laidlaw....awesomeness video as always......keep up the good work Matt....👊🙏🇺🇸

I've been looking at a HD Trike since 2019, had a medical setback, but always keep looking. the wife and I really enjoy our 2017 triglide , and for the complaint about the reverse noise its rare you use reverse its all about riding forward
2014 Triglide: After our third reverse motor going out we simply removed it.
Needing reverse gear might be "rare" but when you need it you REALLY need it. Trying to push that behemoth backwards up the slightest incline by hand would be ridiculous if not impossible!
@@herbwag6456 it roles much easier than you might think. Besides, the HD Trike reverse is not made for reversing on inclines, over bumps, and such.
Great ride.
I wish Harley would put an independent rear suspension on the trike, I think it would make even a better ride.
Brian Hubbard no independent rear suspension!?? Oh hell no! Honda goldwing csc trike has independent suspension.
Brian Hubbard That’s exactly what it’s missing for that price
I’ve owned a FreeWheeler before. Handled much like an off-road ATC style bike but built for the street with lots of power. Super fun to ride and along with the Tri-Glide Ultra, it is a blast to ride and own regardless of whether you have a “physical need” to move to a trike or not. They’re both great bikes for a lot of reasons and I’ll have another in my stable for sure. Thanks Matt!
Thankyou john in ireland . I am getting first service next on my Trike HD.
I love all the straight line driving, give us some curves, real time, sucks real bad cornering!
Okay thanks. !
Excellent coverage on the triglide. HD is absolutely wrong in not making a CVO model.

Yes, I’ve heard this. I’ve seen that model with no headlight as well. They have some crazy regulations overseas
I really wish they would make a road glide version for the trike
Problem with that is turning riding at night u want the head lights to turn with u on those back roads . Be kinda dangerous to have a blind spot at night
The price is BRUTAL. Absolutely wild.
Just signed up for the Harley academy but first spot isn’t until Oct. Gives me more time to research but as of right now my first bike might be this one.
Thanks for the detailed vid!
Great video Matt, I have been waiting for your video and review on this. I did order one in Scorched Orange.

Matt, great videos! We are looking for a used Tri Glide. 2019 and up for sure. Are there better years than others to look for? Thanks!
Hey Matt. You're probably very connected to the HD as anyone. Is there any chance of Harley making a regular or CVO Road glide trike any time soon?
Curious if these are sold in Japan. I'll be going there in 2020 and would like to grab one.
Every Harley on sale in America, is also on sale in Japan.
I thought that the custom colors of Scorched Orange and the Silver Flux were discontinued like two months ago!????
Wow, what a beautiful looking machine !!
I'm definitely buying one next few paydays!!!
Matt is there a chance that I could speak to you on the phone regarding the HD Tri -Glide? Thanks for your time and info here.
Just came back from Arizona. All the way on a Sportster low..yep next is a Trike
On the phone to the helmets, can the passenger be added to the phone call so that both riders can talk in the same phone call?
Just curious, I own a 2018 TriGlide, is it worth the price to convert to the new rear suspension as opposed to the air ride suspension, or should I just give it another couple lbs of air?
For those that may want to buy a 2018, the brakes work very well, there is plenty of power with the M8 107, and the verdict is still out on the suspension. Very nice video, Matt.
They need to add independent suspension.....
Are there any overheating problems with the 114 in hot weather? I currently ride a 107 Tri-Glide Ultra.
Hydraulic linked brakes was the old system. Electronic abs is what the new trikes have. Side cars were cool. Just not safe and practical these days.
Hey Matt, great videos, as usual had a question if the tri-glides come with tire pressure monitoring?
That's so cool! I wish I have one of those. No matter how I tried, I just can't learn how to balance a regular motorcycle 😭😭😭. At least I think I can drive that, just wishing!

Who else thinks that red freewheeler ( at 10:49 ) without rear fenders looks bad a**? Just needs a seat
Haha. A naked trike.
whats with horrible sound the engine makes in reverse? is that normal? also does the wheels ever come up on the outside like with a sidecar? How high is the seat from the ground, like what height would someone have to be to touch the ground while sitting on the bike? will hd have the wireless com system built on the trike anytime soon? thanks, very good information, would like to know about the warrenty and any service visits that come with a new bike. thanks
Can you keep up with fast paced riders in the mountain road switch backs or do you need to take it slower then a 2 wheel say ultra classic ?
I traded BOTH my nice 2017's..streetglide and 48..holy crap I been riding 50 yrs all kinds bikes n machines..I LOVE this freaking tree trump puller..114 with stage 1 with throaty rhineharts..from like 50 to 90..it feels like a Saturn rocket when its 2nd stage booster kicks in..lifts the front wheel up a few inches! And it's not health or old man issue..I can ride anything..the secret to fun on the trike? Ride it aggressively! Body English on the turns..people look laugh n take pics n vids..wicked cherry..gorgeous torque monster
I really think they are cool and would love to own one. Really like that blue and silver color. Nice review.
Haha did I say that? Sometimes I make words up.
Really nice detailed info, I would hope HD Factory would design different wheel by now.
My dream bike! 👍🏻🇺🇸❤️
Was it the cruise control light? It shows flashing because of the camera frame rate but it probably isn’t flashing in person
@@MattLaidlaw Thanks Matt! I should have twigged cruise control. I will figure out how to switch it on when the trike finally arrives. Gonna be a long wait I suspect.
