Yeah, not for everybody. We have had a blast on ours...but if I had not had 22 broken bones, probably would have never considered one myself til much later in my years.

I wish you would do a video exactly how you modified your bars. Bars are very difficult to purchase for short folks, my arms are short also. I do not like a wide bar because you loose reach when turning. I think a from scratch video on the bars would make a successful video. Thanks for all you guys do for the riding community. Knowing exactly how Kevin made his handle bars may not be the best for way for you. Everybody's comfort triangle is different.

BUT, if you want to know how we made them. We cut the factory bars in the straight section, coming up to the grip area. We took a 9" section of steel, one for each side, and welded those sections in, where we had cut the factory bars.

Great interesting and informative video. I live in the United Kingdom and decided to get a 2018 Tri Glide last year. Really enjoy riding it and is so comfortable for me and my wife with no worries about holding the weight up at traffic lights or at road junctions. A much more relaxing ride for me and the luggage capacity is amazing with the Tor Pack rack I had fitted too . Also had the side bags fitted which are very handy too and the heated grips are amazing and needed here in the UK
In Canada the 2022 Tri-Glide goes for 47K, $53,100 after tax. For that money I would not expect to have to make all these changes in order to have it run the way it should. Maybe I will just wait until they put the Revolution 1250 in one. Lighter weight, much more power and torque plus water cooling. No cam issues, no compensator issues that I have heard of anyway.
That might be a bit of a wait. Air cooled engines are part of the look and sound of a traditional Harley, but as emission requirements get stricter, it is harder and harder for them to meet the standards.
btw, Harley seems to have the cam and compensator issues well in hand for quite a few years now.
I have a new 2021 Tri Glide Ultra and I like the linked brakes. Will stop the dam trike when you need it, and it also saves on brake linings. You can turn the traction control OFF
Congrats on your 2021 Tri Glide. Glad you are enjoying it. I have over 150,000 miles between my 2011, 2014 & 2019 Tri Glide. I had zero issues with the brakes stopping the trike on any of them. I do like the ABS on the '19. I still don't like the linked brakes. Yes, you can turn off the Traction Control WHEN you are stopped. Can't do it on the fly...I don't like that.
What you've mentioned (9 minutes in) chimes with the Boeing fiasco that eventually forced them to ground the 737 Max. As a non-pilot biker, I'm riding my Tri-Glide in the UK hoping hard rear braking won't encounter this problem. Whilst hope springs eternal, this particular septuagenarian may not bounce back quite so assuredly if it does.
I am quite used to it now. I would suggest braking hard with the rear brakes while turning (in a big empty area) so that you can become familiar with this little quirk. Do it enough times that it does not surprise you anymore. Then, if you are in a real life situation, it will not take you by surprise when you could ill afford it.

They have never been that company. But, most other vehicle companies are similar, with constant recalls and similar issues, but I agree, HD seems to have more than most.

Question-do let the bike wander in the lane or are you moving back and forth in the lane purposely?
Great question! I do use my entire lane. But I am not moving around in it nearly as much as it seems. The camera is mounted on my helmet, and as I move my head around the perspective makes it appear that the Trike is moving close or further away from the lines.
Also, I completely agree with your shock comments. When you find a solution to that, I'd really like to know what it is. You've verified some of my "I think's" and one of those is lifting the tank. I'm a 6'4" guy and I'm with you on the handle bars too. I'm looking to do the ape hanger 10" riser to see if that helps enough. I did about 3" on my Road King which helped, but not enough. With my luck 10' will be too much. Much of what you describe is also on the 2018.

The new triglides apply both front and rear brakes when you push the back brakes first
Beginning in 2014 the Tri Glides have linked brakes. In 2019 they became quite a bit more sophisticated with the RDRS system, including ABS. Important note, both front and rear brakes are applied whether using the foot brake pedal or the right hand lever.

Thank you! It took a call to the CEO’s office to get my bike fixed. My service manager did even know the part number, I call 15 dealers within my 150 mile radius and the all had the the brake recall part except my dealer. The bike was done in 2 days but it’s snowing and I’ll pick it up on Friday. I just wanted this issued fix for the third time it’s a 2021 Trike. Keep the videos coming!

Rear brakes are anticipating counter steering from potential skid-maybe a bit premature on the bikes part
Yes, it seems to be part of the RDRS that is meant to keep the Trike on all 3 wheels.
I have a 2020 Triglide and it comes with Brembo disc brakes and they are awesome maybe an upgrade from the 2019 model I’m not sure.
Yeah, the stopping power on the 2019 is better than it was on the '11 and '14
Not sure if you've figured out the turning while braking issue, but I know on older Goldwings with linked brakes would active only one disk on the front end, when the rear brake was being used. That could be why it would pull to one side. Did it pull in either direction when turning and braking, or just to one side?.,,,
Yes, we found out what it is. It pulls to both sides. It is part of the RDRS, when the computer thinks you are going to fast in a turn it applies the brakes more to one of the rear tires than the other to try and straighten the bike out.
What is your exhaust setup at the moment of this video? It seems quiet, I thought you ran gutted exhaust with your torque inserts.

I wish I can buy a 17 and up tri glide after riding one with the 107 I can't keep my mind off of them but there just to damn expensive and to me the brakes are awesome compared to a bike converted to a trike

Get a goldwing trike every speed is a sweet spot.
That's one way of looking at it. But another way is that the uniqueness of the Harley vs the sameness of the GW results in there being no sweet spot for the Gold Wing. Different Strokes for Different Folks.
You never will find that "sweet spot" on a Tri Glide's rear end because it has a solid axle instead of an independent rear suspension (split-axle). The solid axle also contributes to "head shake".

What are you calling "oil migration"? And if it's what I'm thinking, how do you measure how many ounces "migrate" and where do they "migrate" to? My 2018 leaks oil from somewhere that ends up on my garage floor almost directly under the bike where the left rear tire is and I can not find the source. Thanks!
On some M8's oil migrates from the transmission to the primary. Measure how many you put in the transmission, then how many you drain out...conversely, you can do the same with the primary. Hopefully your bike/trike is under warranty for that oil leak.

Thank you. On 2014 and newer models the Tank Lift does not seem to change how the gauge works. On earlier year models it does change it a bit.
You must like buying rear tires doing burn outs
Burn-outs, slides and more, on a regular basis, and the rear tires still have good tread at 50K miles.
It is the front tire that can wear out quickly when running the twisties fast. That is why I use a tire like seen in the video linked below...they last over twice as long as the stock front tire for me.

Have you checked the actual MPG? I have a 16 TG and 35 is the best it's ever done.
On my 2014 that had a Performance Plus Stage I, I got 32-35 when staying under 65 mph, even got up close to 40 mph when cruising at 40 mph thru National Parks. It dropped to 30-31 at 70-75 mph. I have not yet started keeping track of the mpg on the '19, but from my experience on previous M8's I expect to get 3-5 mpg Better than I did on the '14.

Thanks for the advice. I run full synthetic Red Line in my engine and trans. I use Syn3 in my primary because I like how my clutch feels with it.
I have been told not to down shift a tri glide what is right always did on all bikes
Who told you that, and what is the reason they gave? I've got around 150,000 miles riding a Tri Glide. I down-shift as normal. Can't think of any reason not to as you normally would on the same engine, trans and primary on all the baggers. Because it is heavier it will not have quite the braking effect as on a 2 wheeler, but that is no reason not to downshift.

I looked at those, and talked to quite a few people. The rod replacement works most of the time, but sometimes doesn't, plus it voids the warranty.
All the new HD's come with the Primary Vent and transfer is no longer an issue. Drilling the hole was not anything that they are not doing at the factory now, so did not bother me.

@@DKCustomProducts When synthetic oil is made it's already broken down so the molecules are smaller but all the same size. Great for plain bearing engines. Roller bearing engines have a point contact with the journal shaft. Larger molecules are required to protect the bearings. The oil should also be blended with higher levels of zinc and phosphorous for the same reason, as Harley oil is. FYI: The longest running Harley engine without any major work, was run on conventional oil. I blew a front rod bearing on my 2002 Ultra running synthetic oil. While I was rebuilding my 2002, my than new 2012 Ultra had lifter noise for the first mile or so. Took it to the dealer and the first thing the master tech asked was I using synthetic oil and I said yes. He told me the same thing I explained above. I changed back to conventional oil and immediately the lifter noise stopped. Save your money, use conventional oil and change it every 2 or 3 thousand miles. I just took delivery of a new 2020 Tri Glide. Ride safe!
FYI: I was an engineer for Briggs and Stratton, Waukesha Engines and Harley Davidson.

Just wait til the shit quality shows and the engine breaks. 10 thousand is what it will cost and the mechanics will fck up repair 10 times until someone from corporate has to come out and make sure its done right so be ready to have an expensive piece of metal you cant ride that will constantly break down
This is our 3rd Tri Glide, and the first one we learned our lesson on. They run too hot from the factory. We had to have the engine rebuilt, under warranty, in the first 10,000 miles from heat damage. We then developed quite a few ways to keep it cooled down, and since that time we've had over 130,000 trouble free miles. Our 2017 tri-Glide with the 107 and a stage 1 was between 36 and 38 MPG with 2 riders , it’s at the dealer we were the looser in a wreck with a big truck, they haven’t made a decision to total it or rebuild it the appraisal is $21;000 now and they have not done a full disabled yet to find all the damage ,we miss our trike the wreck happened 5-18-19 and wouldn’t you know he had the minimum insurance on his vehicle

I think, perhaps because I like to always make things better, that when I identify something that is not ideal from the factory, that may get taken as I don't like the bike/trike.
I'm a multiple Iron butt rider of a trike, you have a good grasp of HD tech, but i have 1k miles on a Honda big bear trike, it will shake your joints loose. I love my HD. Your not that good at reviews.hmm you sound angry at everything about it.

This is my 3rd HD trike, got close to 130K miles on HD trikes now...most of the miles on my '11 & '14.
