    I would love to see other companies introduce their own 16th scale buggies. This would help reduce the challenges of opening an indoor track. Ive looked at lots of spaces that are just a touch too small for 10th scale but would be find for an 18th scale track

I would love to see you carpet race this and go over detailed setup. I have yet seen any content creator going over detailed setups for carpet with the Mini-B. Glad to see an extremely reasonable price point for this. I recently found myself downsizing to 1/28 scale since the winter weather has our local outdoor track clsoed for the season. I was really surprised that there's another, almost completely separate community involved with the smaller stuff. It's been really great and it's definitely a segment worth exploring if you're looking to broaden your horizons and knowledge of all things RC.

    • @zacbrewser
      @zacbrewser 3 года назад +1

      What 1/28 did you get? If you got the associated. I promise you you’ll be impressed if you get a gt24b. Kits 99. Brushless 4wd w/slipper tire options. And it HAULS. 2s is almost unusable in the house

    • @kurtbenson6600
      @kurtbenson6600 3 года назад

      @@zacbrewser I purchased a couple different brands. The Atomic AMR and AMZ touring cars caught my eye initially because they were more similar to the 1/10 scale cars that I'm used to with double wishbones, CVDs, etc. Since then, we've added an AWD Mini-Z that my son races in the drift car class and we also picked up another AMR and AMZ for a total of 4. The track we race on is a road course, but recently they've talked about adding some jumps and starting a class for the 4WD buggies. I would actually be up for that too since it's not so different from running 1/10 scale offroad cars on carpet. Like I said before though, I'm just really thankful to have anything local to race in the winter months here in Iowa!

    I am the EXACT person you described in your video. January I bought three of these to get back into racing after 30years (before xxx) and I love how little you can spend to get a great platform especially knowing I needed everything, not just the car. After not even a year I’ve dove in so much I have plans on going to the biggest Mini race in the nation at R/C Madness in Ct, in March (I have to fly in). My local track has not stepped up to the plate fully so I really hope you can help promote this platform even more, Thank you.

    I bought mini-ts for my two nephews, brother and dad last year and then upgraded them to the brushless combo this summer. I didn't time it, but those 50C dynamites gave us runtime of more than 20 minutes per charge pretty easily. Although they were really hard to drive on the indoor carpet at RCMADNESS without a lot of suspension tinkering...and those dang rear dogbones disappeared, because with a good smack the rear camber arm pops right off and your driveshaft gets ejected at speed. I feel like I was always working on one of the 4 mini-ts - then again, the nephews are under 10 so it's not like they were pro drivers, RYAN. :P

    Hey Ryan, great video I have a mini B myself. And of course I upgraded it for my local rc race track as well. The hopups I put on it are: alu steering rack, hobbywing Pro Stock spec esc, Carisma racing sensored 4650kv motor and alu slipper plates, proline tires (wedgeFront/prism Rear) and it rips at the track. But the tip I want to give you is replace your standard plastic slipper plates for the aluminum plates (LOS312007). The plastic plates will wear considerably faster with that 6k kv motor or even melt in high traction conditions. Hope the tip is of some use to you.

    I bought a regular brushed mini-b for my son. Probably the biggest issue with it for kids is that it's actually a bit more difficult to drive than larger vehicles. It has proven to be quite durable though. On his the ball cups popout somewhat easily, but that also prevents other things from breaking. I do have the brushless motor for it, but my son isn't ready for that kind of speed. With the brushless it is very nearly as fast as stock 17.5 buggies.

    Mini b was my training wheels for a few months before going 10th scale. Been out of the hobby for 25 years until this car. Second and third race nights on 10th scale and I made the A main (one b bump), finishing 5th and 6th out of roughly 25. If you can learn to drive with this thing, 10th scale will come easy (it’s much harder to control than 10th scale). One word of warning, that aluminum horn will eat your servo alive (the moment arm design is bad). I had to rebuild 25 times before designing custom mounts for a reefs 99 micro, which is THE servo to get. Also, Facebook has a ton of groups for this with thousands of members…come on by!

    Hey Ryan,
    I too live in Florida and have had an interest in the "mini" racing scene but had a few concerns first, that you may be better geared to answer -
    1.) Any Tracks here locally race any "mini" classes - if so, which?
    2.) Are "minis" ROAR/Regulated?
    2a.) If regulated, what's the specified scale to be classified as a "mini"? 1/14th, 1/16th, 1/18th? As I see multiple models rocking these scales, claiming "mini".
    *Your vid answers this* 3.) What's the Difference between Mini-B RTR and Pro-Roller as they're almost the same cost - the pro kit has better parts I'd assume?
    Thanks for all your help!

    FYI that dynamite combo 2-in-1 motor seems like it'd be a great fir for other similar-sized cars...I fit one to my WLtoys 959, which I foolishly converted to full metal (frame, running gear, everything) and it's basically gutless from a standstill. The 6000kv rating doesn't give it much torque on the low end, so they're not much good for anything over 1/18th scale

    What we've found is as fun as they are they aren't the best option for beginners. The extreme twitchiness, lack of durability, difficulty driving could ruin the experience for somebody brand new to RC racing. Running a heavier 1/10 scale will be much more manageable. The other issue depending on the track is visibility, they very quickly disappear behind track lining, marshals, etc and if you crash often times the marshals won't even see you. I once had to get down off the driver stand and walk out on the track to get my car mid race.

    Hi Ryan! Love you channel, just found it because of the Mini-B. You have great content and really connect well with your audience :-) I like the last name too, haha. Anyway, I have one coming tomorrow. I run the Kyosho Mini-z buggy now, indoors on hard tile floors (think marble). I have to use super soft compound foams to get the traction I need with the little guy. To be honest, its heaven as it pretty much performs like a true 1/8 at a fraction of the size. It's unreal. I am getting the Mini-B because I want to see how it performs in the same location. BUT, I already know the stock tires are not going to work. I tried searching and I am surprised to not find any foam options for it? Do you know of any? It's been out now for about a year so hoping someone would have jumped on this. I did find some harder compound foams for the mini-T, but that would only work for the rear tires of the buggy. and, its likely a hard compound for street use. :-( What do you think, as you know tire compound is everything, lol. The point of me getting the mini-b is because my Kyosho Mini-z (while amazing in everyway) is VERY hard to get parts for, and is very complex. Its also not really sealed well for anything outside.. so, having one buggy that can possibly do both would be great for me.

    That looks like such a blast! At my local club races, two guys busted out some old school 2wd Nitro Trucks that seem to be way smaller than the normal SCTs, I'd love to see your Mini B race against one of those things, but I haven't a clue what they're even called!

    I just got the normal lost mini B but then upgraded it with the motor, shocks, battery and the pin tires from the mini T, 100% worth it :) Can I put more upgrades on it?

    Maybe you could answer this in a better way then everyone else I asked about this car... Should a small "track" in the backyard on mowed grass work for this..? Or is grass just too tall for this thing to be effective on it?

    Hey Ryan what tires should I run on my mini b on my smooth concrete floor basement for better traction thanks for all the great videos that got me back in this hobby after 10 years

    Very cool anything to get people into racing, also great at smaller tracks where a 1/10th may not quite be suitable due to the smaller size track. It looked fun but maybe a tad overpowered, a lower kv motor may have made it a little more driveable, you can even also get small sensored systems as well.

    Ive been wanting the Mini T for quite some time and always kept putting it off then getting something else. Today i ended up buying the Mini B roller which is practically the same thing. The main sale point was they are having a $30 off the Mini B roller and i got it. Ive got 16 other RCs that include 1/5 scale so this one will be my smallest. I want to put the Castle Creations Mamba Micro X and 8200 (?) Kv motor combo in it. I would like the sensored setup but i feel like the 2850 kv (max kv sensored combo i can find) would require a large pinion to get the same speed as the 8200 unsensored combo. Sensored systems are great, but i dont intend on racing, currently at least. Which combo would you suggest because i want to get the system ordered asap? Do you feel like i would be better off getting the sensored and gearing up or just getting the 8200 unsensored and using a mild sized pinion? The only connection i have with small scale is the 1/18 Traxxas Teton and Prerunner that i purchased for my nieces. Also curious as to whether the servo horn that comes with the roller is 20T as i got a servo in mind for it. Dont have my heart set on servo either and am open to suggestions. Probably better off just getting the Spektrum servo tbh but am open to other options. Castle System is definite, just indecisive as to motor choice.

    They should make a carpet version for all those small carpet tracks where 10th scale buggy feels cramped.

    Wonder if it came with the new version of the front control arms. The cup around the hinge pin isn't very thick and it breaks easily. Got 2 mini B's a few weeks ago for vets day and they're awesome. Already got a build list for them, ones a track car and the other is going to be a whatever happens happens car.

    You can shove a reefs micro 99 in there but need to drill wholes 4mm forward for it. Hobby wing has a 4600, 5200, and 7800kv motor set. Also some brass weight kids and carbon shock towers by hack fab and a guy that designed his own
