I don't know what exists for shock limiters, but back in the late 90's when I raced nitro stadium truck, we used to put a short length of fuel tubing over the shock shaft as a stop to keep from grounding the chassis. It worked well enough that I used it as a preferred setup racing 2wd on-road... no springs up front, just riding on fuel tubing... green springs in the rear and the whole truck was stuck to the ground. Might be worth a look if options are slim.

But I wasn't into RC so I thought they closed. Years and years and years later I found myself wanting to get into it and I looked for a local hobby shop and I found that RC madness was still only 10 minutes from my house! Lol I was so happy about it. Went over there and picked up a basher and now I'm like 5 grand into this crap lol. Most recently just picked up an LC b-12 as my first kit. The RTR is a brushed set up and as Greg mentioned omits some of the upgraded parts that comes on the pro. Not to mention the ESC is an ESC/Receiver combo unit so you'll also need to purchase a new receiver too if you upgrade the brushed motor for the much preferred brushless. Greg pointed out even more in this video...maybe watch again?
@@JViello I just realized the pro comes with upgrades, thanks. I'm gonna wait for a sale for the pro roller, i remember seeing them for 109 last year at amain. I have an old Losi mini desert truck and will take the brushless setup from it and other parts.
Right now… The Eco servo I have listed in the video description, you’ll need to trim a standard servo horn and use spacers on the mounts to adjust spacing. I’ve heard the Reefs 99 works well to, I don’t know if the Losi Horn fits though.
Hi great video … have a question… do you know of a hobby shop that would install the hop ups and electronics… I suffer from neuropathy and wouldn’t be able to do it myself… thank you
If yo don't mind me asking, what is the overall weight of your buggy and what weight /make of shock oil are you using? That was the smoothest landing I've seen from one of these
The buggy is stripped out currently so I can weigh it. But I threw random leftover pieces weight behind the motor, under the servo, on top of the servo and had a custom cut brass plate under the battery. For this video it actually has the factory oil, but I typically run F-45wt, R-35wt.
My friend just bought me this for my Christmas gift. I am about to buy all the things you used. I do have a question. I notice no one ever paints the wings. Is there a reason for that? Great video by the way.
@@joserodriguez-cc2wb I felt that was the case. right now I’m using a servo arm were the teeth isn’t machine centered correctly. so I change the steering trim +3 positive/right of true center “it all works,” but would be nice to have true accurate parts but since your’s fit nice now there’s still hope. lol
@@Sackmatters glad I could give some insight other than that the car is great you might have servo problems because it’s so small but that’s about it. servo name is sx107 in case you need it
Hello. :) I'm looking for a recommendation for an adult guy (my future son-in-law!) who would like to have an R/C car but who probably isn't going to get into it as a big-time hobby. (Maybe he will, but he's never had one -- always wanted one since his childhood.) I am completely lost with what's a good deal, what's not ... and obviously, since it'd be a first vehicle without knowing if he'd get into it as a hobby, I don't want to break the bank. Thanks for any help -- I truly appreciate it! (He'll probably just be using it outside, if that makes any difference ... not even sure if there are any tracks around here or if he even knows about tracks. Also, he's almost certainly not going to modify it in any way -- perhaps this is not the right stream to ask this in, since you all seem to be advanced! :-) Sorry if it's misplaced!)
Here's a good video with RC Cars under $150. The Losi Mini-B or Losi Mini-T are a lot of fun. There are shopping links in the video description. ruclips.net/video/avhHtEEAN8M/видео.html
If you haven't already got hum something, one of these, RTR would be a cool gift... there are only brushed buggies, and the Mini-T truck there's a faster brushless version... personally, for someone brand new, a brushed Mini-B RTR and a second battery would be where I would start... Other options, depending on interest and your location, of you have rocks or parks with appropriate terrain, etc... check out videos of RC rock crawlers, there's some mini ones of those too.... not fast, bit run a good while on a charge and may not be as likely to break.... Best wishes to you and family, RC is a great thing in many ways, a positive in this often dark and crazy world... cheers...
The SX107 servo IS a problem...it's a piece of garbage. That's why it was almost always one of the (if not THE) first things replaced in the Capra - plastic gears, slow, underpowered...and, worst of all, NO 'overload protection'. In other words, it's SUPER easy to "kill".
I’ve never had an issue with them in any of my bone stock Mini-T’s or B. Elsewhere yes and it’s an absolute no go in this roller after only holding up for 3 laps. I have a good servo recommendation for this car in my video description.
@@rcdriver The 640T is also what I initially replaced the SX107 with. In the end, I replaced that with a Powerhobby 59MG - slightly slower (0.11sec) & more powerful (80oz/in) at 6V, and equally fast & even more powerful (95oz/in) at 7.4V (the 640T maxes out at 6V). Plus, it's slightly heavier (20g vs 13g) then the 640T, giving the front a little extra weight, helping to bring the Mini-B closer to a 50/50 front/rear balance. I should mention that I've also replaced both shock towers with carbon fiber shock towers (stronger & less flex than the stock towers, plus helps to lower the vehicle's CoG).
@@robbryan3044 , Are you still happy with the Powerhobby? I just ordered a roller and need a servo. Was is drop in or did you need to modify anything? Were you able to use the Losi Alum arm or did you need to use a plastic from the servo kit?
@@RayBMaven Still running the PowerHobby servo, and no problems. As for the servo horn, I was originally using the included horn, but I did have to use the shortest length hole, I had to enlarge the diameter of said hope to and I had to shorten the length of the horn. A could months after I installed it, I started working (mostly via email, but also via a could phone calls) with PowerHobby's lead engineer, developing an adapter. I'm still using the 3D-printed prototype...but, the finished version should either come with the servo, or be available separately (I know they told me it would be included, but I have no confirmation).
Hello, Did you have any problem with the aluminum servo horn not fitting the servo? Or with the motor holes not lining up with the motor mount? Did you stick with the stock 18T pinion gear or change it and if so what size? Thanks

Could you put a 3650 in there?
How much weight have you put in ?
Sooooo…what’s the servo you recommend? I think I’m gonna get the roller and move my electronics I put in m mini B in to the roller.
Right now… The Eco servo I have listed in the video description, you’ll need to trim a standard servo horn and use spacers on the mounts to adjust spacing. I’ve heard the Reefs 99 works well to, I don’t know if the Losi Horn fits though.
Hi great video … have a question… do you know of a hobby shop that would install the hop ups and electronics… I suffer from neuropathy and wouldn’t be able to do it myself… thank you
I hope you got what you needed :) if not amainhobby is a place you can buy online in america
Is this car 3s compatible?
Shame I can't find any in stock anywhere nowadays pppffft
I have a question what is it called that little metal ball that is in suspension links and shocks
Pivot-ball or if it has a threaded screw machined into the end, it’s a ball-stud.
My friend just bought me this for my Christmas gift. I am about to buy all the things you used. I do have a question. I notice no one ever paints the wings. Is there a reason for that? Great video by the way.
Yes the reason is it’s way cooler to have a transparent wing lol
Do you think a castle 1406 will fit inside this kit?
Negative. You need 24-28mm diameter motor.
It’s been 2 years can you tell me what the servo is ?😂
How did you get the servo arm on so easily? Cannot get mine on at all, same servo and kit.
Right it’s a struggle with pliers too ! But I managed
@@mojojoji5493 turns out I had a bad servo arm, ordered a second one and it slid right on no problem.
@@joserodriguez-cc2wb I felt that was the case. right now I’m using a servo arm were the teeth isn’t machine centered correctly. so I change the steering trim +3 positive/right of true center “it all works,” but would be nice to have true accurate parts but since your’s fit nice now there’s still hope. lol
The diff grease is hit or miss I have 4 and 2 had decent grease and 2 was kinda dry 5/10 stars on the grease department but the rc’s are very nice
Thanks for the info. Just ordered one as a winter project and had no idea it would be an issue on a losi.
@@Sackmatters glad I could give some insight other than that the car is great you might have servo problems because it’s so small but that’s about it. servo name is sx107 in case you need it
Bought this kit two days ago. The servo horn that came with does not fit the recommended servo. What gives
It should fit the sx107 spektrum servo (which i assume was the recommended servo youre talking about). It's a little tight but it should slip on.
@@TrainTFFT i got a dud. Mines not fitting.
Ugh I want one so bad but I don’t wanna drive an hour and a half to race it
I want one like this, but in kit form. Who needs/wants something prebuilt? Boring
I miss old school buggy bodies. I dont like the cab forward look.
What after market servo did you put in it and does it work with the aluminum servo horn?
Unfortunately I can’t say at this time. But it will fit the aluminum horn when it does. I’ll update the video description when it becomes available.
@@rcdriver Thank you!
Best wishes to you and family, RC is a great thing in many ways, a positive in this often dark and crazy world... cheers...
red is fastest!
Yellow!! 😉
White wheels are always faster lol
Wayne County Michigan
Bellivelle rc
And excel drones and hobby
Mabey dirtburners
Yellow wheels are slower cuz the die the use is extremely heavy so it slows the car down lol 😆 😂 🤣 😅
More inertia, thrusts the car forward! 🤣😂🤣
Thanks
What servo did you end up putting?
I wonder how this will stack up against the LC racing variants
LC is 4wd, can’t really put them up against each other.
@@rcdriver you are right about that. However this one is intriguing. I own 4 LCR and wouldn't mind adding one of these into the arsenal
@NOTREALLY HANKAARON I'm actually curious about it. I also think that having a 2wd will make you a better driver. It looks well built.
