It's pretty mind blowing what can we create in seconds with AI generation, but so far, I can't use these images in commercial work because anyone has the right to copy them and people's hands look weird. However, I've found ways to integrate image generation tools into my workflow as an art director. And if you're a graphical web designer, here's three ways that you can, too. Firstly, patterns and backgrounds.

Great stuff - for my graphic and web design side im using several AI tools including photoshop and Leonardo to assist and enhance in several areas of the process including ideation around web design looks and layouts, hero page, logo design - and for my people photography side line in portrait, fashion , glamour and concept shoots Im using those tools to change the backgrounds , enhance hair, change outfits and footwear. Ive only been using for a couple of months but AI has allowed me to speed up processes as well as explore ideas and designs further than would previously dare due to time and client budget limitations

I've been dabbling with things like stable diffusion and was looking for ways to use AI generated images that both look good and don't scream 'AI'. This video hits the mark with some awesome examples. Thanks!

Midjourney creates some interesting output, but using it in actual projects is a bit like herding cats. I have used it on one but the output was a pain to generate and I could have created it easier with a stock library and photoshop and had granular control.

graphic designer here. i would never consider using any ai generated imagery for a finished product. but they can definitely help with brainstorming and throwing ideas at the wall for very quick progress on a design. loved it!

Curious why you'd *never* use AI generated images as a final product. Is it that most current AI tools have minimal control and produce below-par results with wierd artifacts? If so, would you change your mind if AI image generation didn't have this problem and allowed more control? Even the most basic features in Adobe software (e.g. auto vectorising, gradients, background removal) have some element of AI, so isn't full AI generation just a natural extension of this?

@@AlanMitchellAustralia so for me there's a line here, i might consider using auto vectorisation or subject selection in a final product (even though for most products I'd rather spend that extra time wirh the pen tool for better results), but like i get it, i use ai for hair selection for example. ai generated imagery is different, because as a designer, i promise ny clients to provide them with designs consisting of images that i own, that are the best quality possible, and that i can provide them with the source for the images i use. I don't think I can say any of that for ai generated images. does that mean I won't ever use firefly to fill a tiny part of the canvas? no, but as a rule of thumb, i work in a very organised, non-destructive manner, and i want to be able to provide my client with the PSD file without snooping around and finding some ai generated images that i have to start explaining. it's easier this way.

@@leopoldsimmons4804 Thanks for sharing. If I understand you correctly, AI is becoming more embedded in your workflow, but there is still huge value in human judgement and context, which would be difficult for AI to replace. I work in a different field of marketing, and my role has changed significantly over the last year, I think for the better, mainly using chatgpt for ideation, grammar check, rewording, second opinions etc. I also do programming and web dev, and chatgpt has definately moved me into a more executive role, with my time now largely spent more deciding what code should be written, rather than slaving away writing the code itself. Wondering if we fast forward 10 years, whether the role of graphic designers might be less about hand-creating the design itself, and more about taking a holistic perfective, ie deciding what designs should be created, in what form, and how they fit the big picture strategy. If so, then I imagine the key value of graphic designers would therefore be in knowing what tools exist, and how to best use them to achieve desired client outcomes.

What about systems design or dashboard design how to do good things in terms of UI UX design,
It's not all about just websites. What do you think?
