- Older diesel engines may require some wrench-turning if you run out of fuel and try to start it again. If you don't know this, you can DAMAGE EXPENSIVE components in your high pressure fuel pump and pre-heat system by cranking for a long time with no fuel in the pump to lubricate it. It sounds technical, but it's very doable with a little know-how. I've gotchew! You've got this!

Happy Christmas Eve! I'm feeling beat up and tired, but excited to be posting again. When I do, I'm encouraged by the comments of those who it helps. That's why I started my RUclips channel in 2008. And while it's become a job over time and even though I don't like the commercialized sensationalized mess social media has become- it's still a great opportunity to serve. My reach is less than ever, but I can still use my channel to serve and teach things I've worked to learn. That excites me enough to keep going. My oldest daughter is learning video production in school and it's a good chance to work with her. She helped film me and with the bike visuals for this one.

Back in the day drove oil trucks and we had an old Dodge truck with a Perkins diesel engine that we only used when we got busy and had a part timer help us deliver oil. If it was cold out we had to break out a space heater and put plywood around the truck to warm up the engine. Good memories. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Whomever "ran the chipper out of diesel", which it's an extremely rare event or none at all.I have been part of a ground man team's effort to run an old Morbark dead dry. It has never happened since then because of the repercussions of this error was way heavy on my wallet. Buying a case of beer to each member of that crew. 5 in all, with their their desired taste! Now in my 36 years as an arborist this forgetfulness fault has never been repeated or for that matter within my company!
